Behemoth was more of a dance/jumpy album if i can say so. But Non Paradisi is just terrifying. No more catchy melody. No more fun. Just fear. Aggrandizement is scary, Lake of fire is disturbing (af), 4th is spookier than ever and I am abaddon is a terrifying masterpiece. I can't tell if it's better than Behemoth or not because they don't have the same goal but i can tell you that it's a good album that was worth the loooong wait.
Still had fun and danced like crazy! But yes, the album is scary, uncomfortable and batshit terrifying. A lot of synthwave artists tried to capture that 80s horror vibe, but GosT got it just right. There's something in the synth tones and arrangements, that'll make you shiver. Just imagine listening to the album at night, while walking through the empty streets. Scary stuff. I think, as a whole, Non Paradisi is a better thought out album than Behemoth. Both are different beasts whatsoever, but while Behemoth feels like a collection of tracks (awesome tracks, mind you), Non Paradisi has a solid concept and every track feels in place.
CuKe I don't know which album you listened to, but Non Paradisi has some fairly synthpop-y passages that are far away from being scary. For example Unum Infernum has to be his happiest tune to date, at least the first two minutes, of course with the typical GosT-note by ending the chord progression with a dissonant tone. Non Paradisi is starting to grow on me, though I have to say there's filler tracks on this one too.
Alain Rutishauser I compared it to "Behemoth". From my own experience,no other "darksynth" albums desserve more the "Dark" in front of "Synth" than this one.
I think I can use this for my DnD campaigns to different dimesions like Abyss. I really like the album. It is eerie and powerful. But the synth is stil strong. This is GosT and his established style beeing taken to an extreme. This differes from teh normal synthwave and I think the term 'slasherwave' fits it perfectly well. Keep it up Bloodmusic and GosT!
Maybe I am too baked right now, but it sounds like the most thoughtful and mature release in synth wave genre by this day. I am feeling like drowning in it deeper and deeper with every listening. And also it somehow reminds me videogame DooM (1994) in terms of mood. Scary, dark and still somehow happy as hell!
didnt remind me of DooM at all, disappointed after reading your comment ESPECIALLY after u put 1994 after DooM... not scary not even dark. not really happy either... you need to get some better weed...
that lake of fire drop is pure insanity. how can something be so upbeat and driving while being so grimy and satanic at the same time?! while still sounding good?!
Amazing album. I feel like Gost and Perturbator have both fully established themselves with their most recent releases, huge improvement in composition and scope from both artists. Dan, you're up next! No pressure... Hahaha.
Started listening as I’m writing this . Got this recommended from a friend at work. Coming from someone who is a metal head from black metal, extreme, death , symphonic, electrical and melodic, I can say that this is a new favorite genre for me and especially this dude. Heavy af!! Synth wave 👌🏼
My first experience with GosT is this. Incredible how they maintain that 80's synth-pop groove, but keep it, as you guys say terrifying, with dark tone and atmosphere. Slasherwave, is it?
I just love this heavy stuff man, this album goes nuts. And i am telling you this as a fan of Electric Wizard, Sleep, Reverend Bizarre and old school doom, black metal and variations. This is heavy shit.
So a big fan of synthwave haven't heard anything lately though that's really blown my mind found this out in this morning, this is a masterpiece, keep making music , keep the synthwave alive. 🤘🤘
God damn, 4th is amazing. It's such a slow, menacing beat. Incredibly atmospheric album all round. This is my introduction to GosT and it's a bloody strong one.
Tea And Video Games I preferred the version of 4th from Skull rather than this one. It feels way too harsh and unpleasant to listen to on this album, and it's just not good.
My only criticism of Behemoth, as good as it is, was that it seemed to be lacking teeth or a type of heavyness implied by the album art. I also feel like GosT got upstaged by Perturbator on that remix he did, which to me was just better than all the other tracks on Behemoth. This album definitely hits a lot harder than Behemoth, in my opinion, and an epic re-telling of an already epic poem. Only thing I'm not super crazy about is the recycling of 4th from Skull, which I can forgive since it seems to fit the story, but maybe should have been added to or re-done? Since it is a new album. Just my two cents.
My dad showed me this a few years ago and since I was already getting into dubstep this was a treat because I'm into metal and dubstep and this was so fire.
I was late to the party and was introduced to gost at psychofest 2017.then carpenter brut and perturbator etc.its so Fucking good!reminds me of being a 4year old mid 80's and watching Terminator, horror movies, particularly any Michael Meyers or Jason Vorhees vhs tapes I could get my little hands on.which wasn't difficult in the 80's.HAR!
Brandon Fraser Yep, original version of 4th was from GosT's album Skull. Just like how Night Crawler in Behemoth is a newer version of Nightcrawler from his Radio Macabre EP
Interesting fact that the naming and the topic seems like a reference to John Milton's book "Paradise Lost", especially with the song "Arise" describing the fall of Lucifer to Hell and taking his revenge on God.
Once I thought that Inferno is music can be portrayed only within the limits of extreme metal genres. Happy to be mistaken:) This is pure Power. And I do love the cover art!
There was this one time I had a friend who loved dubstep and for some reason hated synthwave dark synth retrowave new retrowave and slasherwave He was insanely ignorant about composers like perturbator carpenter brut and gost I put the gost behemoth perturbator remix into his MP3 We are now god like bffs...
Cyber Blade some of this genre relishes in past sounds too much and doesn't do a lot of the messing with noise that dubstep can do so I understand the sentiment. I think some of the bands need to stretch their legs and step outside of the retro- synth zone just a bit.
I'll definitely be picking up a vinyl copy of this. I was about to place my pre-order, but it just so happened that the other shit was on sale and I had to grab copies of Dangerous Days and I am the Night. Next time.
holy fuckballs this is amazing. I need more Gost. Where do I find it? I've found a few other albums here on RUclips, how many does Gost have? Who is Gost?
halfminutehero99 In an interview with the Church of Satan (how fitting), he said that Bitchcraft is his wife's project and he's gonna be focusing a lot on that now.
im here just listening to this like it can be adrenaline inducing music while playing first person shooter games but then the comments talking about the devil lol
Did you make The Red String Club? Guy called Gost and when I looked up his mood it brought me to you pick your price website which then after some digging I found this. Quite interesting easter egg/advert.
I was recently possessed so severely, that the molecular bondings within this vessel lost cohesion, and I became nothing more than a state of devious particles wafting about my maidservant's bedchambers... The opium wasn't bad either...
First the Uncanny Valley earlier this year... now this beautiful piece of art. Holy shit. It's a good year to be a synthwave fan!!
Gost gets so much better with each album he releases, I've never noticed such fast improvement before on any artist I know.
Praise the sun!
praise it
I misspelled Ghost and found this gem! :D
I did aswell XD

Buy this album. I have listened to the whole thing 10 times in the past week. Truly a great record.
I Am Abaddon is so freaking heavy. It's like the synthwave version of sludge metal.
Best description ever
Nearly six years on and this is *still* hands-down the best album I've heard since.
ordered the double red LP! This album keeps on giving. Supreme (feat. Haley Stewart) is orgasmic.
Her tracks are always my favorites on gost and purturbators last few records. I hope one of them will do a whole album with her eventually
heh its funny that you mention that as she is part of a duo called the dead astronaughts, which is full of albums with just her singing.
Good to know Lord Chanka has good taste in music.
Gʀᴀʏ Fᴏx Praise the Lord!

I liked Behemoth more. :(
This is excellent. One of the best out there. Keep giving us terror, Gost.

I've used GosT music in my D&D campaign. I don't regret it and the kids loved it. ;)

The music is great. But I'm in love with the album cover.

I hate this sentence so much
Amazing album. I feel like Gost and Perturbator have both fully established themselves with their most recent releases, huge improvement in composition and scope from both artists. Dan, you're up next! No pressure... Hahaha.
Hearing this and now hearing prophecy is crazy!!! GosT has changed so much!!

Every night I put on my headphones and drift off to sleep listening to this. Amazing!
Loving the album! Nascency is undoubtedly the highlight for me
soo good. bought both albums. Thanks for making it easy to get your music!
Great work once again by GosT. A different type of synthwave and a unique sound.
I'd recognize that church anywhere, that's the Hagia Sophia.
wait a sec I recognise that bulge
well , you remember old but but not following news its a museum now
riiigghht, good eyes.^^
So excited to get my vinyl copy! Great stuff, thanks for being a great label!
Some of Gost's best work so far! I can't wait for more!
I get some interesting looks playing this on my motorcycle. Great album.
Craziest album & cover to trip acid on! Grab your headphones and ENJOY!
My first experience with GosT is this. Incredible how they maintain that 80's synth-pop groove, but keep it, as you guys say terrifying, with dark tone and atmosphere. Slasherwave, is it?
Slasherwave yes, the son of death metal and synthwave.
Johan Havenga Slasherwave, Dark Synth, Synthwave, there's a ton of names for it
Still his best album to this day. Absolutely incredible.
I just love this heavy stuff man, this album goes nuts. And i am telling you this as a fan of Electric Wizard, Sleep, Reverend Bizarre and old school doom, black metal and variations. This is heavy shit.
"I Am Abaddon" is just straight up metal AF. Heavy stuff boii.
Finally! Been so exited for this
I saw you in Nashville 6/14/17. Your stage presence and energy was amazing, the sound was heavy and brutal as fuck. Great show man.
So a big fan of synthwave haven't heard anything lately though that's really blown my mind found this out in this morning, this is a masterpiece, keep making music , keep the synthwave alive. 🤘🤘
Just saw Gost play live in Leeds yesterday. It was awesome!!

Daniel Galvan 4th was redone. It sounds a lot different and, in my opinion, worse
Bathory Bitch was pretty brutal although listening to Without a Trace was like drinking flat, sickly cola. Gost's albums are a mixed bag
Alexander Trenfield Yeah, I find that I only listen to about half of his songs from Behemoth and Non Paradisi.
Grand. blows me away how good this is.
My dad showed me this a few years ago and since I was already getting into dubstep this was a treat because I'm into metal and dubstep and this was so fire.
