Good. I'm glad it's down. Most people can't afford to build a collection for $25+ (new) - $100+ (rare) for one 6" figure. Investors are the minority here. I just ordered my first Hot Toys figure because the prices are coming down and I'm glad. You shouldn't have to be well off to collect plastic action figures.
25 dollars is nothing for a modern 1/12 figure. The problem is 25 dollars for a hasbro figure isn't worth it, but I have no problem spending 80-150 on 1/12 figures
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 Good for you. It may be nothing for you but when you're the sole provider of a family of 4 and make well under 6 figures, $25 on a collectable is a consideration rather than an automatic purchase.
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271exactly. Aftermarket is declining because 25 plus tax for cheap plastic and terrible sculpting/paint jobs doesnt make it enticing to pay any more THAN retail. Premium 1/12 lines are still thriving both in retail and aftermarket once they stop production. Hasbro needs to either come down on price (99% not going to happen) or they dramatically increase the quality of their product period.
Unfortunately, it is the collecting industry as a whole, statues, figures, comics. I've been collecting since a child but the past 22 years as an adult collector (mostly Horror related items). It is a combination of the economy, overpricing, and the market just being so saturated with lines and characters. I never overpaid for things on the second market nor did I chase items that came out. I lost interest a few years back with all this since I refuse to pay these retail prices. It was more fun when there was less out there, you could still find a deal and the "flippers" were non-existent. It is also an exhaustion over time that has resulted in a loss of the appeal and enjoyment to collect. I still collect but I just shifted my colleting to less expensive items or more unique items on sites like Amazon and Etsy. Thanks for the video, it is sad to see that the collecting and toy industry is in the decline YET they still keep pushing out so much crap.
I'm glad the figures I never would of gotten years ago are affordable, I'm getting a Darth Malak from ebay still in the box for $30 free shipping. I wish I could see a drop in price for Luke Skywalker (Crait)
When covid hit the world. The 2010 to 2012 vintage collection basically doubled in price and more on certain figures. Now their dropping again. Inflation and those Hasbro re releases are doing a good job at a drop in the market. And Disney's crappy sw series and movies are also contributing i believe.😮
Glad you brought this topic up, Hasbro's pricing (especially on deluxe TVC) is out of control, and it's resulted in me not buying them until they're put on sale. It seems like most of their products, even exclusives, go to clearance, so it's safe to wait on just about anything. I collect for the fun of it, not for the value of my collection, so higher prices certainly reduce that joy from a new purchase. I enjoy the current content, but I preferred when action figures were toys, and priced accordingly, now that they're collectibles for adults, they'll keep trying to squeeze us, but it's already starting to fail.
I think they went to far and your right these are suppose to be toys but they pricing them as collectibles. I miss the days when toys were toys and were treated that way.
Not only are the so-called "deluxe" TVC figures grossly overpriced for what little more they have to offer, but their box packaging completely deviates in size and design from the standard packaging of a bubbled figure on a cardback which offers an aesthetic appeal that has always been one of the biggest draws for in-package collectors of this particular action figure line.
Good, I despise people overvaluation and speculation markets, toys and graphic novels are to read and build a great collection, not because you sit on it and sell it. Disney alienated they're core Star Wars audience and the people who buy the merch. They economy and inflation are factors too. Last time we had a spike in the value of Star Wars figures was when The Mandalorian season 2 finale with Luke Skywalker came out. Apathy for the brand is the main reason.
Unfortunately a lot of companies work that way and you’re right most figures are overprice but it wouldn’t be so bad if they added more accessories etc.
I live in Canada...Hasbro is asking $35 plus tax for these figures. I don't collect Star Wars or Marvel but see these prices when I get my Neca or McFarlane figures and shake my head. Hasbro is going down...and going down hard.
If it’s not making you happy then maybe it’s time or maybe take a break but definitely collect what you love and some POTF2 is cool even if it’s worth pennies.

I will say that for Hot Toys we saw production numbers that were very high on alot of those figures around the pandemic so that market has been on this drop for a while. The lesser produced Hot Toys stuff seem to be holding above retail though.
This goes with statues too. I collect some of the Kotobukiya and Gentle Giant Star Wars statues and they are going pretty down in price. I’ve scored several statues this year online that were either half or less than half their original asking price. The only market of Star Wars collectable that I love that I see isn’t declining too much is Lego. Lego kind of just stays the same depending on the supply and demand of certain sets and minifigures. Overall I have noticed it with Hasbro’s products and Hot Toys. Even Star Wars funko pops have taken a huge nose dive in online prices compared to what some were worth a couple of years ago.
I bought, for my first toy purchase for myself, (I'm 70 & didnt get ANY toys as a kid) Futurama in the early years of 2000's.. They were about $12, & sell for as much as $265 while current reboot is on. Better than money in the bank...

I noticed on EBay the prices are slowly stagnating. About time. Absolutely tired of people trying to make a living out of my memories. Great Points, Michael. I really appreciated this video. I’ve been collecting Star Wars my whole life. Still, just in the last few years l’ve seen the demand go up and down over and over again. For the Hasbro current prices, I want more stuff. Even just extra hands and heads, or something. The rubber on my IG11 Black Series figure just crumbled off one day. So I'm pretty frustrated by that. I'd, at this point, rather focus on getting just a FEW Bandai SHF figures than have a bunch of Hasbro figures that suck. So unless there's a big sale, I've largely checked out of Hasbro stuff.
How about double knee joints to all 3.75 vintage collection figures…one of the main reason I stopped seriously collecting the VC line…specially after I am so used to the Joytoy and Acid Rain body structures
during the pandemic I ramped up my figure collecting...used to have multiple packages coming every week...now i have like 1 a month and nothing preordered...you can get all that star wars stuff at Ollies lol. the disney star wars stuff is trash no one collects that. Hasbro coundn't even get the haslab project funded for that reva saber
I hear a lot of folks crowing about the "bad economy" being the cause, but every recent data point shows the strongest US economy in years. So maybe it's less the economy, more just hitting a saturation point of budgets and space? Personally, Ive drastically refuced collecting because I'm feeling overwhelmed by plastic and lack of shelf space.
Great video. I think as others have said in regards to hasbro, they are over pricing figures, especially deluxe. The new tvc jango is a perfect example 3 flame accessories do not equal the deluxe price. Another example of issues is micro galaxy squadron. Their ships are amazing, but the suffer from issues including distribution, falling qc and the worst of all they create a bs chase and rare system. You can't find these ships, and they go right to scalpers. It's horrible.
I agree Hasbroke have hiked up the prices to a point where even hardcore collectors are dropping off. I reluctantly pre-ordered Jango Deluxe from Pulse UK - but They don't charge until shipping and I can cancel if I find it cheaper over the next few months.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore yeah I'm mainly a 77-85 collector. Picked up a bunch of OT TVC stuff only, and mainly cause it reminded of the original stuff but vastly improved upon designs. Ultimately just decided to refocus back on the old stuff again.
It's actually amazing how cheap the figures are from power of the force all the way through saga and legacy collections. Those are some excellent 3.75" figures that were never made again
I know most of the comments are all about value going down, but as someone who's been spending the last 5 years working towards opening my own brick and mortar Toy Shop this is terrifying.
Since were not just talking SW figs, SW Hot Toys, etc...7 in NECA Predator, Aliens, etc figs are $35 plus tax/ship. Years ago I was collecting them when they were $20. I've bought 1 in the 5 last yrs. I noticed at WM there was a NECA GI Joe 7 in fig for $55. Who is buying a NECA 7 in fig for $60??? Listening to some of the statue videos some people are paying $500 just for shipping. In the past couple yrs I've only bought a quarter of what I use to for sw figs. Windowless figs for SW, NECA, etc are a easy pass for me. I would be fine if I never bought another collectible. I'm happy w/my collection but this hobby isnt fun when I'm asked to pay unreasonable prices. I enjoyed your video. Keep up the hard work.
I’ve cancelled all my preorders and have been debating on selling off my entire collection, about 90% complete of tvc after how things have changed over the last year. It use to be something I enjoyed but after hasbros new direction I just don’t know anymore.
I was at Walmart the other day they have had a ton of tvc deluxe scout trooper with speeder for 44.99 . No one will buy them at that price I’m waiting for the clearance on them
Great video. Everything you said about collecting is true do it for you but be smart about how much it is worth. We can all get caught up in nostalgia and it can be hard to say no and when enough is enough.
Hello. I appreciate the highlights on the highs and lows when selling and buying SW stuff, in your opinion is it even worth selling my SW Black series The Mandolarion and Book of Boba Fett figures? Inbox and not depending on the figure. Thank you!
Interesting video. In my opinion, TVC and BS figures are overpriced, so to get figures under retail price isn't a bad thing. It will be interesting to know if this is across the whole Star Wars market....vintage Kenner loose and carded as well as loose graded vintage Kenner figures.
It’s definitely a buyers market and like you said that is not a bad thing. I think I’m being overpaying on some of these Kenner figures I been picking up lol but it’s sure been fun hunting them down.
@ActionCollectiblesandMore the Star Wars market on the whole is over inflated. I can understand vintage Kenner and maybe 90s Star Wars figures to a point. But the more recent lines of figures.....nahhhhh. It's expensive, for sure, but it can be fun collecting vintage Kenner.
Been watching the channel for a while now, love the videos man! I’m definitely taking a hiatus from collecting and focus on getting characters that I like from the OT and Prequels. Dooku and the upcoming Princess Leia are ones that I’m preordering for sure.
Boba fett starwars tvc figure Target has priced 22.99 while the rest of figure line is 13.99. The mark up is crazy for the guaranteed sell. I just go to employee or manager and complain. Whys this figure marked up so high and 75 % of the time i get price cut back down to retail. Or scalpers hit stores buy up the new stock ive seem some even bend and destroy cardbacks just so another collector cant buy a fair condition figure. After awhike they dont sell and employee reduces the price because damaged box. I see how if your going to open one and figure isnt damaged. But the oackaging is all part of haveing a mint on card collection.
I have lost all interest in TVC Michael. I am out and will be selling my stuff. However, I am in on Kenner! By Hasbro, hello Kenner! It will be cheaper long term since the line is defunct.
The glue is terrible on the packing, it's coming apart over time. The market is full of figures, while the Starwars isn't a great movie to the younger generations.
With un opened and un punched collecting for profits is against the fun of collecting collecting out of box paying no more then 35 for any of my figures is fine to me.
What a banger of a video! ❤ Just read the comments section here and really enjoyed it. Mikey, you are in danger of creating a channel that reasonable, articulate, serious and interesting people who are proper collectors can follow!! 😅 I won't have it!! I need idiots constantly moaning about any 'owd shite, who have amassed a collection of 8 figures via clearance, who now profess to speak like professional collectors with 6 decades of experience "in the game!!" 😢 😅😂😅
Yeah I have age on my side lol. And a lot of up and down experiences with collecting and everything else but once I stop having fun I’m out and I’m not there yet or maybe never. 😄
Not going to preorder Jango Fett. Gonna wait until a sale. $24.99 is too much for a figure, dubiously listed as deluxe. Hasblo has overplayed its hand.
Fennec Shand is a peg warmer alongside the never sold Lando. Smh these figs never sell. Its been months since walmart or target has sticked card back. Unfortunately its only been the inside box figs. That nobody really wants. Ppl are lucky to find stires to restock figs twuce a year just to find so thing new. And if your not there in time. All spught after figs are all gone leaveing the new wave peg warmer figs behind
That jango fett figure is disappointing. The helmet cant gover the head. There swappable. I get it keeps paint from wearing off. The figure doesn't justify the price.
I guess no one wants Rey toys and sequel merchandise Gee I wonder why Do people not like ray ? Why would anyone support a brand who actively hates it's main fanbase
Great video and everything you are saying is a 100% true Though I have to admit I am going to get a jango fett only because I have the tvc 34 Jango and I got him this past summer and I paid almost a hundred dollars and I dare not open it so I will buy two of the so called fake wanna be's so called deluxe boxes of Jango under the boot heal of hasbro but I will wait until prices drop
Just wait a few months after it comes out and you’ll probably can get two for $30. I have the jango on card as well and I love it and I still rather have this one on card even if it was the same card back.
Hi Mike. IMO Hasbro is driving the road to hell. Until now they drive the alley of shortage and abundance. The brilliant sequel brought us enough figures until the ending of all endings, aka TROS. It brought us almost nothing. TVC is a nice toyline, basicly because of the vintage card style and the screen accurate figures. But as always: less is more. Stop milking that cash cow and stop treating us like cows. We are not a piggy bank where Hasbro can pull out money only to satisfy our so called needs. It's killing the franchise. Don't spend too much money on modern SW if you're looking for some good investment. Collect them by heart. That is what toys 'r' for. Recreate memories and relive them. Prices only rise and drop like the exchange market and the only real gold until now is vintage SW. It's hard to pull them off , I know... 😉
The wokies that enjoy the new crap content Disney continues to jam down our throat for the most part are not collectors like the old school fans are and they don’t buy the action figures and support the companies thar make them. Their level of support ends at giving the crap movies 5 stars then they move on. The new figures sit on pegs because really nobody gives a crap about them or their story. The old school Vintage market is not crashing at all from what i can see. Its all the new stuff people wont invest in. Disney and Hasbro both had the chance to make a ton of money even in a weak economy but they instead chose to push identity politics and garbage products . I have been a collector for 40 plus years and never thought I would see the Star Wars brand destroyed like it has bern along with Marvel. Nobody is buying the new Comic books either and that market is dying and comic book stores are going out of business. Some good bargains out there for sure but collectors are hesitating to buy because nobody knows where the bottom is.
Constructive criticism - lower quality video and higher quality sound is better than 4k video and crappy sound. Personally can't listen to this echo. Will be back when sound is improved. Sorry
Over priced hasbro figures, Ollie’s “exclusives” lol and the current state of Disney Star Wars which has made a lot of die hard collectors finally throw in the towel
The modern tvc figs are are over priced & worthless so funny, why collect modern tvc figs for value?? I collect the black series for fun not value, if you are in it for reward that is messed up,I just collect for fun 3 dimensional figs i like from horror to sci-fi or fantasy, I am simple😆
Good give everybody a chance rather than paying ridiculous money for a piece of plastic! I buy Star Wars figures for my kids because they love Star Wars and love playing with figures but you man babies are the reason kids don’t or can’t play with them because parents can’t afford them £20 nearly for one figure £100 for a figure that was released a 6 months ago!!
She can do what she wants I don’t care anymore but she and her politics can’t take away the original trilogy from me or 1-6. The rest of the stuff I barely watch and I definitely don’t buy collectibles from those movies/tv shows.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore they are the movies that matter to me and the toys I am now 52 so grew up with the original trilogy don't know what the crap we have today is the corporate woke mobs in Disney and beyond can ruin and erase star wars but they can't erase our memories of children growing up late 70s and early 80s they will live on as long as we do and will only die when we die as we will all take those memories to the grave with us

I don’t collect the squadron line so I didn’t know there was issues with that line as well. Thanks for the information and for watching the vid.
I agree Hasbroke have hiked up the prices to a point where even hardcore collectors are dropping off. I reluctantly pre-ordered Jango Deluxe from Pulse UK - but They don't charge until shipping and I can cancel if I find it cheaper over the next few months.
I'd wait for it to go on clearance.
Get it on eBay for $15 shipped after a few months it comes out like everything else.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore That's as high I will go on that figure.
I love TVC but sold most of it a little over a year ago. Made a killing!
That was nice timing👍🏻 if you weren’t enjoying it anymore than that’s the best thing to do
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore yeah I'm mainly a 77-85 collector.
I used to collect statues Premium Format from Sideshow and they were $300 each and now they have doubled
No one will buy them at that price I’m waiting for the clearance on them
Check Amazon at one point they had them for sale for $19.99
Great video. Everything you said about collecting is true do it for you but be smart about how much it is worth. We can all get caught up in nostalgia and it can be hard to say no and when enough is enough.
Thank you and I appreciate the comment 👍🏻
Noticed the same thing, never saw sales and deals before now I can’t stop finding them 😂
Hello. I appreciate the highlights on the highs and lows when selling and buying SW stuff, in your opinion is it even worth selling my SW Black series The Mandolarion and Book of Boba Fett figures? Inbox and not depending on the figure. Thank you!
I would hold off selling them right now. Maybe when the new trailers come out for the new season there will be more buzz. I hope this helps.
Absolutely! As to when any new material drops, I guess is anybody's guess?!? Thanks again!@@ActionCollectiblesandMore
Thank you man I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. I’m focusing a lot more on the OT and some prequel stuff.
Intrest8ng video. In the uk I'm picking up TVC some £2.98. BTV that's a great A.T driver figure on your shelf. 👍👍👍
Thank you I’m big fan of the AT-AT driver designs. It’s a figure from 2016 and it held up really well.
Where are you finding £3 tvc? My local Game in Telford hasn't gone lower than £6...
There is way too much all at once....can't keep up with what's coming out
Boba fett starwars tvc figure Target has priced 22.99 while the rest of figure line is 13.99.
Good move my friend I’m just about there with you so much more fun buying Kenner toys 👍🏻
The glue is terrible on the packing, it's coming apart over time. The market is full of figures, while the Starwars isn't a great movie to the younger generations.
The action figures are not an investment, it's just a hobby 😊
Smart move to wait for clearance on this one. So many figures going for less on EBay these days.
The figure doesn't justify the price.
the original kenner collection is not declining doing the total opposite,
Tell me about it Kenner vintage is the only thing I want to buy now and getting original complete figures with weapons is not inexpensive by any means
i agree @@ActionCollectiblesandMore
I'm not worried.Star Wars is forever. Politicians are not.
Dude you should win an award. This is the best YT comment ever!
I guess no one wants Rey toys and sequel merchandise
Gee I wonder why
Do people not like ray ?
Why would anyone support a brand who actively hates it's main fanbase
I’m selling a Kenner Collection if you’re interested
Message me on instagram and let me know what you have.
It's cyclical. I tell people now is the time to collect.
Yeah to hell with those stupid deluxe boxes
Great points man I’m just using this market to pick up some OT figures for a lower price and stopping with the newer releases
Bad movies, over and over again. That's it. That's the problem. People want to love to SW, but it doesn't love them anymore.
The good news is that it’s a buyers market right now… So open up your wallets
My investment for collecting is my enjoyment level once 😁
Nobody wants the woke Disney product they keep throwing out.
And for a higher prices until they end up in Ollie’s
Good give everybody a chance rather than paying ridiculous money for a piece of plastic! I buy Star Wars figures for my kids because they love Star Wars and love playing with figures but you man babies are the reason kids don’t or can’t play with them because parents can’t afford them £20 nearly for one figure £100 for a figure that was released a 6 months ago!!
Glad your kids are playing with toys that’s really awesome.
Hopefully it'll keep crashing. People hoard them and drive up the price.
Very true not many want to hoard if they’re going for less than retail or close to it.
Hay. You. Buy. Them.
Really annoying having music in background when you talking
Loved the video thank yu
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching
Kathleen Kennedy said she would burn this franchise to the ground, and she did it, too. R.I.P. dead Star Wars.
