Our PD just went trunking here in Hayward, CA. So I purchased a BCD536HP from HRO. Enjoyed watching part one towards the end... I searched for Parts 2 and 3 before I read the rest of the blogs below. My programming skills failed the first try with the Sentinal software. BUT!!! while doing a scan after putting in zipcode, and AVOIDing tons of locals, it stopped on the Hayward PD channel, so I quickly hit the CHANNEL button to hold...but I have to leave the scanner on so I won't loose it. I've read through the manuals, OEM and EASY. Still working on how to program that channel so I don't loose it......Terry - WB6TA
I would just like a detailed explanation of the entire display of the BCD536HP since I can't find it in the manual (I don't recall what I did with the printed manual that might have come with the unit when I bought it). And, so far, I haven't found anything searching. If the 436 is available too, that would be great!

I bought a used uniden bearcat 170 all im getting is weather error showing up i jave right codes but canot pick up fire and police is there a wire or something vould ho bad with age ill eait for your reply thankyou
Is there a way to add the next frequency without having to back out(using the menu button) and go through these steps again? I've added three frequencies but it is taking me forever.
I can't get the my BCD526HP scanner to receive BrandMeister DMR home-brew repeaters, it does receive C-bridge repeaters with the DMR option. Finding technical support is very limited from Uniden. I have buyers remorse due to limited technical support from these folks.
i just got an uniden home patrol 1 and my county, Llano, is one of 23 in the GreaterAustin/TravisRegionalRadioSystem. Need to set the Austin one in, and dont know how. Please help.
That's why you use the Sentinel software to program it directly from the radio reference database with what you want. Or just press ZIP and put in your zipcode, and it'll setup many of the systems in your area.
Your information is definitely very valuable but the problem is you're running through it so fast I cannot keep up with it to program the scanner. Please take a breath and give us time to get to where you're at so we can move forward. The house is not on fire so take a little bit of extra time so the knowledge you are trying to share can be comprehended. Thank you very much I still need to program this thing before I send it back to the factory.
PLEASE HELP!! I have the 536hp. I live in Vancouver, BC CANADA. I have inputted my zip code, I've found the local police agencies and respective dispatch channels that were already pre-programmed with the unit, however, I do not hear any transmissions at all from ANY of the 10 local police agencies. As far as I know, they are operating on a EDACS Digital system... not encrypted. SCANBC is able to post "silly calls" online without posting address and specific info, so I know it is possible. Why can't I hear anything? I can hear Fire Depts, but thats it. Thanks again.
+Uniden Upman yes I have and now it works perfectly!! My next issue is how do I stream from Siren when I'm not on same wifi network. If both scanner and iPhone/siren app are on same wifi no problem. I want to be able to stream from my cell phone data, or any other wifi network. Could you help with that? And I'm also a Mac user so sentinel doesn't work .. I have researched about parallels and running windows in iOS ...
My new BCD536HP is receiving as per the display towns many miles away yet it is broadcasting my town. I changed the range to zero as per manual. reinstalled my zip. No change. Any way I can correct that?
I got my 536hp a few days ago and when I programmed it it doesn't show the frequency or PL tone it just shows the system and department and it also doesn't display the date either. So I'm not sure if it was the way I programmed it or what, I thought for sure it would operate and display the same way my 436 does, Unless it was how I programmed it.
great scanner but I think mine is trashed, and if can't get it worked out will just junk it. Calling uniden tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement micro sd card from the factory. If not it get junked only after 4 days. DONT HOOK INTO A MAC with the USB everyone or you will get this mess i have

Have you purchased and applied the ProVoice upgrade? That is the only way you would be able to hear digital channels on an EDACS system.

Will there be a way to extract radio IDs from the control channel and name them so we can see what the dispatacher sees?

Looks to me like this channel is no longer active. Nothing added for almost a year and many multi-part videos were never completed. Sad, very sad.

Yes. And No. Encrypted is impossible to monitor with a scanner.
