How to Diagnose broken motor mount on BMW. Start the car and put on Drive. Give some gas while holding the brake. This specific car has brakes driver side mount.
Hello! My '08 328i makes such a loud interior noise that seems like coming from the engine. This noise occurs at idle but not driving. I didn't inform this noise issue to dealership because they would charge for diagnostic but they did wrote up some concerns which include bad engine mount collapsed which could lead to engine vibration. Could the bad mount causes the loud engine noise at idle? Please advise.
car diagnostics@ my 320d no x, n47 177hp has strong vibrations from 2000 to 4000rpm. I changed the cardan but nothing changes. It feels like playing the entire front of the car when accelerating. The gear lever also vibrates in the rhythm of shaking. Do you know what that could be?
@@aslanmammadov2230 only when accelerating. if it accelerates slightly there is less vibration. At speeds 5 and 6 they are extremely strong. I changed the wheels, the flywheel does not knock. I feel all the vibrations coming from the front. Pedals, gearbox, dashboard, everything plays.
@@nikolajet5339 I’m not sure what year is your car but what I know is Diesel engines make more vibration that diesel and this cars have oil in the engine mount to keep the vibration to come into cabin. Depending on the mileage and year of the car engine mount supposed to be changed every 40k miles from my experience. So definitely check the mounts. I’ve replaced so many engine mounts for Customers complaining about hard transmission shifting, Vibration and engine concerns.
If you have a bad mount engine vibrates pretty much entire dashboard and it makes clunky noise at sudden acceleration as the engine moves freely. If you mean kind of hesitation or jerking it can be spark plugs or transmission. Just let me know what year make and model you have
The engine on my e90 120kw shakes with cold starts, but its more like kicks than shaking. Its small shaking followed by kicks every 5-10 secs where the whole cabin moves for a split second.. any idea on what it could be? After like 5-10 mins as it heats up the problem is gone

Hi. Put the car on the drive and foot on the brake give some sudden gas and let somebody see the engine movement. Odyssey’s know to have bad front and rear mounts at that miles
@@ahmadaljbawi9654 I work for a car dealer in TN Knoxville. If the mount is completely broke you will feel the engine bumps into something if it just leaks out the oil it has in it the engine will move a lot.
Hey I have a clunk that happens at low speeds usually in first or second gear. It happens when i am taking of or slowing down and when i push the clutch in at low speeds. Any info will help. Its a 128i with an n52 engine. Thanks.
@@neko_789 stop the car. Put the hand brake on. And in first gear play with the clutch back and forth to puts some pressure on drive train and have someone outside listen to see where the noise coming from.
Going over bumps should affecting that much. Hold the brake on D and give sudden gas and see if you feel the same bump. I have a video how to change mounts on Mercedes E320
Mount itself is cheap from eBay. 35$ each. I think labor wise 100$ each would be fair. Of course licensed shops will charge you more. If you have a jack and jack stands it’s about 30-40 minutes work with few handy tools.
@@Othermind972 I didn’t use engine bar. But make sure to not put the jack under oil pan. Put it right between engine and trans. And pace of would would be better in between jack and engine
How bad was the mount when you removed it? By the looks of it I'd say it had broken in two. :^)

sorry i didnt see your message before. most likely worn mounts. you can buy those very cheap from ebay and installation cost about 100-200$

Does the car vibrates while driving ? Or just accelerating ?

It’s probably slight missfire. Could be plugs or coils

@@dzenanbrkic9606 spark plugs and ignition coil. Sveca and babin lol. They are fairly easy to replace. After 100km they need to be changed anyways

75% it is the front mount by the radiator

Check your drive shaft. It might have bad U joints.

If it feels like a bump it’s mount or bushing. If it’s just the noise more likely driveshaft

Yes. Since Diesel engine have more torque and vibration it’s more common for them.
