I just wish we could see a bit less Sicilian on these....

haha well thats the only reply to 1. e4 that I can really play - what do you like to play against e4 openings as Black?

@@BasketballChess15 I typically go with the French e6 or Karo Kann c6. Sicilian is great, but so many play it that they are more comfortable as white when they see it. I am FAR from a grandmaster though at a 1400.
      So these are your games?

Yeah, these are my games. French defense is definitely very strong but I feel like development is so much easier in the sicilian, the french is so theoretical esp the advanced french. i used to play caro a bit but again its so tough to put the knight on the right square and you lose tempo by moving it twice that ive never stuck with it. i should definitely expand my horizons though im getting bored of playing the same types of sicilian positions over and over

@@BasketballChess15 Yeah, I've dabbled in most all of them as well. I like to be "solid" as black so I can hopefully get some exchanges as my smooth brain hates having lots of material on the board for the middle game. What I hate the most as black is 1. d4 as typically I have to lean further towards development.

@@pullt it's definitely tough to find good replies to 1.d4. I used to play the kings indian defense but its a little too weakening for my taste at this level - it can really weaken your position if youre not careful. I started playing 1. d4 d5 2. ... e3 and then 3. ... c5 which works fairly well against a lot of d4 openings, especially the accelerated london. agadmator has a free anti-London chessable course that has some good ideas for Black against d4.
