Hi everyone this is JD, your gadget review friend.
Im not sure if you already notice the words Marvel and IF ONLY on my video title, those are words synonymous to heroes. That exactly how I feel with the LG Velvet, it is one marvelous phone that could have saved the face of LG when they decided to exit the mobile industry IF ONLY they have given this midrange phone series a chance. IF ONLY instead of pushing the G series, they capitalized on the popularity of Velvet and improved it. Motorola survived by producing great budget phones and LG should have followed the suite. Today, we're reviewing what could have been the saving phone of LG and why you should buy it in 2022. Hey, dont forget to subscribe my friend, lets go!
DESIGN
Lets start with the design. This is the most gorgeous looking LG phone, aside from the LG Wing, I think. Although the tear drop notch is going old now, ww cant deny rhe fact that the curve screen is somehow timeless. Even in 2022 this is one gorgeous phone, even better than any flagship phones of the G series. Honestly if LG continued with the Velvet series, this could be their saving grace.
SCREEN
The front glass phone is a 6.8-inch 1,080 screen, and its gorgeous. The screen is very bright, but it only has a 60Hz refresh rate, which nowadays gives phone a very midrange feel to it.
PERFORMANCE
Next is performance. This phone rocks rocks a solid processor in Snapdeagon 765 5G. Honestly after Pixel 5 was able to deliver top notch performance, anything on the 700 series I feel comfortable using.
BATTERY
The phone has a non removable 4300 miliampere battery. Battery life is good. Its an easy all day phone depending on your usage. Snapdragon 765 is known to be power efficient and its no different running this phone even in 2022.
CAMERA
And lastly the camera, Velvet will be the hero of LG, but like Superman this is the kryptonite. Im not saying its weak but frankly it is just okay. Ive done so many camera comparison and I wont oversell or sugarcoat the cameras of these phone.

Told me exactly what I needed
Looking into buying this phone of the LG V60. As a samsung galaxy fold user i gotta say i fill like i compromised by getting a phone without a 3.5 mm headphone jack and micro sd card support. I've been a big LG fan since the LG G3 and owned so many of there flagships since the G3 like the v10, V30 and LG G8X duel screen. Most likely will be buying the LG Velvet or LG V60 with the dual screen case off ebay before summer is over. Good video 👍🏼.
I just got one for $178, wow...I love this phone!
Gorgeous display, easy to use interface, sleek thin design. Good battery life. Its perfect for media, and some gaming...that screen is excellent.
Running android 12 (though that may be the last major software upgrade) I just love this phone.
The velvet could have been their equivalent to the note line.
Same I paid $169 I think it was called renewed because someone returned it because the software thinks the headphones are connected all the time. There is an app I downloaded to switch the source and the problem is resolved. Its a steal for that price or less IMO. Also, Android 13 was released for in in Late 2023
Amazing phone i owned it for one year now. The best smartphone i ever had. Its a shame that LG shut down mobile phones division . Highly recommended if can be found, can compete successfully with many new phones .

Great review by ya gadget rev now, i own a budget lg phone, itz 4glte, other then the no problem, ims stopped working last week, no problem to fix...but anyway..i luv lg phones , period......wen the velvet first came out, me and my girl, went to the mall..not even lookin for a phone..so, ofc, they has there phone booth vendors, wen the pixel 4a, just released..had the 4a, tons of phones, laid out on the glass counter..i scheked out the pixel 4a, they had , 7 or 8 mid tier, to xpensive phones laid out...the phone , that wowed me..was the look and feel of the lg velvet..honest to goodness, not even bein pro lg...i had never seen a phone that wowed me like the velvet did, ive seen apple , samsung, htc, etc..ive never had that , wow factor, until i saw and held that velvet..i think they wanted 500 dollars for it..it was a phone, cause, i cant afford it, i woukd only dream of owning...great review by ya, GRN..peace

@@GadgetRevNow Right? They knew it was an irresistible deal for LG fans, so they released just 50 score for their employees. Even without a 90Hz display, it would have definitely destroyed the mainstream midrange OEM smartphones for sure.

Hi Hamza, sorry no. Happy new year! I check your channel, if you want to discuss future tech, try some phone presentation and try talking to the video. I did that before. Sample if Apple release a new phone then you can take few seconds of their presentation and talk to the video.

I got this phone as a second hand deal and the audio in this phone is insane, the colours and camera putting much later models to shame.
This phone down the line would have better longevity than all Chinese midrangers and its software is better too. Plus, its a Korean brand so you know its quality. I would choose an older Korean brand flagship over any newer high end Chinese brand phone anyday. There is a reason why Samsung is untouchable on the tech space and I am lowkey waiting for LG Mobile to make a comeback as the rest of LG is doing great business wise. There are also rumors in Korea that because LG Group is still one of the most profitable and largest companies in the world, thus jt has a lot of resources, it did not entirely pull out of the smartphone game, but just went on a hiatus to reorganize the mobile division. There may be hope of LGs mobile division making a comeback.
Korea makes the best technology in the world. Unfortunately, I never got to try out LG when they were still making them, but better late than never

Ho fatto ripristino rete e si é agganciata alla rete preferita 26 ed ho navigato in 5g ma facendo un riavvio é sparito tutto . nelle modalità di selezione rete trovo fino al 4g. Ne wind e né lg capiscono il perché. Fatta segnalazione ad lg. Il telefono é aggiornato all ultimo software

@@sedmakisudheer7703 well I just got mine in April the phone performances fantastic the battery life will last you add a easy and everybody rips on the camera but it's actually a fantastic Hammer day or night at night you probably should use a flash but it takes a crystal clear pictures and even a video full-motion is very good
I have an S21 Ultra, but I have to admit that the Velvet has a gorgeous design. I'm still tempted to buy one because of how much I love its aesthetic..
LG made some wonderful flagship phones that weren't really given a chance by the mainstream press and, thus, were ignored by the mainstream consumer.

@@GadgetRevNow To be fair, LG went out with a bang. The last of the LG phone lineups are still receiving updates and are actually very good phones. The Velvet is a competent and very beautiful midranger. The V60 is a still a powerhouse. The Wing is a different package. Not to mention they have this legendary Velvet 2 Pro as well. It's always their marketing that has problems if you ask me.

@@royolaniye6643 They've actually released a beta phone called Velvet 2 Pro just before they closed shop on the smartphone field. Although it was only released in South Korea and exclusively sold to LG employees.

I've have this phone since 2021 and i'll admit this phone has been excellence to use... After being on android since i was 11 now i'm deciding to changing it up to iphone. I am getting a iphone 13 pro max pretty soon. Can't wait 🥳👌🤟
The only problem about the lg velvet is the random ads that show up and screw up my gaming/movies every to 2nds :(

I've got LG velvet directly from LG HQ Seoul for content purpose with dual screen in India back in July 2020 and still using this amazing piece of work.
Even I've got the best color phone sunset version which is not available in India sadly.

Having hard time to decide between velvet and v50/v50s. V50 got much better chipset but wont have A13. Velvet design i personally cant "love" it. Those glossy/colorful/colourchanging style make me feel a bit disgusted. The pricing for these in my place were about the same too. Really dont know which to get.

High time to realize the phone is NOT for taking pics or making vids. Not to mention in this particular case it's beauty over power. Long story short its all quite close to the Samsung flagships, however, it looks absolutely stunning compared to the current plastic bricks available, works perfectly fine for 99% average users and most importantly it doesn't take $1.2k out of your pocket.

Be real, not a fanboy. This is 2022 and android 12 is baseline, and you can upgrade it to atleast 14. Weak camera and not working fingerprint scanner are deal breakers. "Flagship"? Guess again.
