As a seasoned pro, I am impressed with your presentation. I've fooled magicians with tricks they performed. It's an old trick repainted lol and the story line made them forget what I was doing. They sat back and enjoyed the performance. In watching you perform, if I had to guess, I would say both you and Giulia together, put your talents and creativity into this beautiful work of art.:-) I will expect to see you again and again... somewhere in our magical world. What really gave it away, is the jacket twisting on the back, so it was quite obvious some sort of face torso was used and then you just twisted yourself inside. If it wasn't for the jacket, it would have looked even more amazing, still great illusion.
Curious, what happens when an act goes wrong on this show? Is it just not aired? Maybe I'm being bad assuming this has happened but I'm just wondering.
They reshoot the part of the trick if it goes wrong, you can find a couple videos about contestants talking about mistakes they reshot, doesn't happen much tho. If it's really bad they don't air it, can find a lot of clips floating around on youtube where they got to keep the footage for themselves but it was never added to the actual show. A lot of clips are even out of order and some don't make the show even if they didn't mess up

Usually all these box tricks are self working tricks, I mean, the "box" does all the dirty job, and this one was not an exception. Also Giulia was kinda unnecesary there, the only thing she did was to put some food coloring (powder) on the water bottle and remove the cloth from the "box"
Hi Carlos! We have tried to leave just the "self working" illusion on the scene and remove all the unnecessary things (like the table, Giulia, me...) but it was a little bit less entertaining.
@@AleBellotto you were not unnecesary, I mean, even though the "trick" works because of it's mecanism, because of how it is engineered, you still need someone to actually get into the box, but Giulia had nothing to do with that. If you intend to have your girlfriend be a part of the act that is great, but let her be a real part of it, not just decoration. Make her play a more important role on the whole act, that is what I mean.

I just wanted to say that she should have a bigger part on the act, I know she is not a magician but, perhaps if she was the one on the box she would have got a bigger part on that trick. Also, it would have been interesting if you add some clothes change to this effect, like, when you show your legs after turnung 360° you where wearing a different pants... I'm pretty sure there would be a way to achieve that, and it would give the effect a twits, like, you are not only bending to make it look like your legs where removed but somehow you change your pants as well.

@@AleBellotto Glad you liked my little joke. Being serious, that kind of trick always comes down to being a contortionist, I think. The thing is, you have to put your legs SOMEPLACE. That divider seems to narrow to hide your legs. Obviously, it is not, but it sure looks to small. Cool trick. Now if when you do the final reveal, and your legs are healed, I think it would be nice if your legs were gone. You panic, your assistant panics. She closes it up again, twirls some knobs, pushes some buttons, steam comes out, and noises are made. The noises stop. The steam stops. And then your assistant opens the door, and your legs are back. And not they are healed, too. Love your act.
@@AleBellotto Thinking some more about your act. Two problems -- 1. Your assistant doesn't have much to do, and 2. Not enough drama. I suggest. When you come to her, a nurse, for help, she suggests (in mime) that you use the device. You look at her questioningly, but you reluctantly go along. She, not you, operates the device, removing your legs. With each turn, you scream (in mime) agony, pleading (in mime) for her to stop. She DOES NOT STOP -- until you are moved all the way over, and your legs have been removed. You are NOT happy. YOU have just lost your legs. You plead (in mime) for your legs back. She reassures you that everything will be OK. She shuts the door hiding the empty compartment for your legs. She operates it again, bringing you back. YOU are in AGONY again. Then you are back and should be whole. She opens the door. YOUR LEGS ARE GONE!!!?? For first time, she has lost her composure, and begins to panic. She twists dials, turns levers, steam flows out, bells ring, lights go on and off. After a little while, she opens the door again....and you are whole again. You are so happy, you jump for joy, and kiss her. That is one way I can see fleshing out the story.
I was somewhat disappointed in Penn's explanation. Personally I think in illusions like this Teller should have to diagram the entire thing to call it a bust.
What is there to diagram? The hint was "ZIG-ZAG" which was more than enough. You could clearly see his torso rotated and like penn said, there's literally only one place his feet could be. The only alternative is to use a fake set of feet, whether prosthetics or a couple midgets in a trench coat. The cogs and gears added a nice touch to the trick , way better than a fake chainsaw but again, there's literally nothing to guess. Feet really don't take up a lot of space and he had far more than enough. Asking for more specifics would be like sticking your hand in a cardboard box then asking how many fingers you're holding up, it doesn't really matter when the trick is fitting inside...
