@@josepezza1264 🤣🤣 pretty much... Every once in a while me and the owner have a brief chat about the video shoot, which he says only I ever did mention it, ever, the way he describes it is that a few dudes came in with a camera and just asked if it's fine to record 2 minutes of b-roll in the shop, and he says they ended up staying closer to 15 but it was all laughs.. I believe the drummer dude might b local but idk if its true or not, but owner got very surprised 1st time I've mentioned it and the amount of views this got... He also said he was didn't imagine it would be for such a big group or even for a music video.. But yeah, tiny world eh 😂
it took me over 10 years of seeing and listening to this so many times from time to time (because its so inspiring and still get goosebumps every time) and then to realize that the narator is Flowdan 😆 (another guy that i follow all this years featured in Chase & Status, Skrillex and Imanu) After all these years when i was able to spend some money on vinyl, it was my first vinyl that i bought, no coincidence as for why... It will always have a special place in my mind and i wish an influence on my projects too. 🖤🖤🖤
Still here, some 7 or so years after the fact. In fact I am still in the same line of work as when this first came out different location though... Kinda got myself 86'ed from that nose bleed of a town.
Legendary album, even in 2020. I will forever hope they will once make new songs in which rock is mixed with dnb, or the atmospheric beats such as Nightbus home and On our own. I visited London during winter a few years after growing up with this album. It nails the feeling of lonely wandering the dark, busy and rainy city streets and metros. Listening to these songs reinburses these memories and feelings back into me. I love Modestep for this masterpiece.
I always somehow come back to watch this video, for someone from Serbia this is like watching the alternative soul of London, like some art. I feel everything here at home in my chair. I miss songs like this, the voice of the singer, instruments mixed with dubstep and dnb... For me one of the greatest albums ever, they did 10/10 for me with this. 6 years growing and listening this. Modestep yes, you created art with this.
Every once in a while when I start to feel lost about life I come back and watch this and somehow find myself again. All I can say is thank you for this one
I absolutely adore the way you guys mixed in several music genres in the vid. To tease us, to show us that you're working on something new. I really, really like the influence of Burial on the beginning, little Pendulum further on. UK Garage, Classic dubstep, dnb. Absolutely amazing. There are a lot of people saying "old modstep was better" but isn't music about trying new things? finding your new vibes. Maybe Modestep will create or modify one of the other genres. Like what Dubstep did to UK Garage. Keep up with your work and fidning your own sound. Massive thanks to Modestep and massive hype for the new album. Will be waiting for more good news and tunes. Can't wait!!! Best regards
Amazing teaser, the track a the 2 minutes sounds brilliant! And that liquid dnb track, well i never expect something like that from Modestep, i can't wait for the album
"London city, the big smoke, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. You see me, i call it the rats cage, its grim out here fam, and i ain't just talking about the rasclaat weather. This city yeah, it will chew you up and spit you out if you let it. You see me, i love this city, don’t let anybody tell you different. We got all types, all kinds, so tell me what you hear, cos when i put my ear to the street i hear the essence. I can see that it’s essential to not feel like boxed in cos i ain't a caged bird, nah fam i seen people do the nastiest of things yeah, and thats just the suit and ties up central. My old man once told me: the walls that we use to protect us are the same walls that confine us. But old men chat shit fam. I say fuck it. These walls right here, they breed creativity, create movements, evolve cultures. This city, this struggle, as intense as it is, is the vibe fam, and the grey skies are the canvas for what could be if we survive.” *credit goes to Efren Guerrero*
Edit: Got the vinyl, it's my first vinyl ever, so proud also that my first one is the London Road, an album i heard so much 10 years ago, opened the box, signed by all 4 members... dude i can't even 🖤
Modestep are my faveee😍 love love love this version of London Road... THE BIG SMOKE! definitely deserves more love & more views... Modestep are the don!😎
Mat and Nick weren't really involved with the productions. They just helped with their live shows. The new drummer and guitarist are really good musicians who are also passionate about helping with the productions.
This is fucking amazing!! Absolutely nails the overall essence and reality of London. I love how the beautiful parts of London shown are also mixed with the chavier more brutal parts, as neither side represents London but both sides make the city what it is
Can't think of a superlative good enough for this piece of music, something that will make you believe in yourself again, music is a potent tonic of wellbeing when written well, congrats on everyone involved in making this, the music and the video, it's just all outstanding :)
Now I've listened to all the songs on this album...wow. every song is different, they have mixed loads of different genres in this album and pulled them all off incredibly. Which is amazing to here on one collective album. HOLY SHIT
+Esperantone Music how the fuck does any of this song even sound remotely like muse? if you think you can compare drumstep to rock then you need a fucking hearing aid m9 XD
You should listen to Seams: 3:57. A few other moments in introes are pretty resemblant too. Modestep take inspiration from a lot of other genres, and the Muse ones stood out to me. My hearings fine thanks ;)
Almost 7 years... and still have the goosebumps watching this...
That shop at 3:30 ish is a shop i go to almost every day... Its by Edgware Station in north west london... Goose bumps every time i go in 😂

MODESTEP IS BACK😍
It's all sounding awesome and so much more well produced than most tracks on Evolution Theory. Keen to hear more of those DnB bits
Completely agree. That DnB track (if it was only one) really reminded me of Chase & Status.
you mean the one at the and? that was fucking amazing. can't wait for the release
Paul K Yeah the one at the end. I was so excited when I first heard "Leave My Mind" and now we get more DnB from the band - it's great.
this was the best modestep sound I have ever listened. you guys should have sticked to it.
When it breaks down at 5:22 it always gets me! :) Great atmospheric track.
