A few points of trivia: Others might've already shared these, but i wanted to do so, just in case. 1. Jinjer is a Ukrainian band, with the lead singer's first name being Tatianna. 2. The drummer in this video was hired three days before they recorded this video, only cementing their faith in his abilities. 3. This video propelled the band to international stardom. 4. I watched one vocal coach reaction vid to this song, and he said the muscles Tatianna used to make the scream (which I think should be called a growl, as it doesn't sound like she is screaming at the mic, to me.) are the same muscles used to sing Opera. She has incredible muscle control. Go back and watch it again, and pay attention to her forehead and neck. There is no apparent strain, no veins popping out, etc which would indicate stress. In fact, she looks, to me, the most relaxed when she is singing the growl. Glad you enjoyed the song!!
Wow i didn´t know that about the drummer. I absolutely LOVE the drums in this one, the whole song is awesome but the drums are kinda, extra clean, it´s beautiful
Good trivia, to be clear, while I don't have enough expertise to say the muscles are involved in this are the same or not, I want to iterate, as this is a popular comment, the technique is very different, and don't attempt to do this without understanding how. One most coaches miss, but a couple have caught is she probably switching between false cord and fry screams. As someone who can do this, and it IS possible to get those sounds from a false cord, the air needed to get the sharper higher sounds is -- rough - what I noticed, and what sounds right to my ear is that she built the lyrics and structure to support a smooth switch between them. For example when she says "emeralds are ripped away" four times in the end, the first three a likely a deeper false cord scream, followed by a fry scream in the finale.
Trivia point 2 is wrong. Vlad was already playing with Jinjer for the best part of a year when they recorded this video. And he was not hired, he was invited to join the band. They knew each other already from the ukrainian Metal "scene" (Vlad played in a band called Zlam).
Excellent reaction! Real singers understand just how good Tatiana is and the talent involved in those fluid transitions. Not to mention just how good those cleans and extreme vocals are. All 4 band members are killers.
I'm not surprised that you're not surprise, people who have screaming in their song will never get surprised, but Tatiana indeed has a very controlled voice shifting from growl to clean singing

I saw them live last September in Dallas. Had meet and greet and met them. All of them are very nice and polite but I was shocked at how little she is. I mean tiny tiny but again they say big things come from small packages. In her case that's a lot of power coming out of her small frame.

So Jinjer is definitely a rabbit hole. You will enjoy the ride I’m sure. Most will suggest 1 of 3 videos next. “Teacher Teacher” , “Perennial live at Wakken” or “Who’s going to be the one” . Considering you’re kind of gothic theme you’ll probably like the last suggestion ( honestly you’re probably going to love all of them) the most. My personal suggestion would be to check out “Captain Clock” love at resurrection fest. This was the first Jinjer video I seen and what made me love them! Plus this is Tatiana ( the singer) in full on gothic mode. Either way enjoy the ride!!!

Y’all definitely have a new fan. With one listen to all your songs on Spotify (I haven’t even watched this video yet because I’m still listening to y’all!) y’all have immediately been added to the top of my playlist of favorites. I Speak Astronomy by Jinjer. It's an amazing song but it's absolutely one for musicians to analyse. Time signature, build up, cool down.. absolutely everything about it it flawless... Plus Tatiana looks absolutely essence in the vid

If I knew about your channel before today I would have definitely recommended this, I've seen people react to this on about 15 different channels and the reactions are mostly the same, disbelief,lol🤘
ALL the musicians are just A+. I believe they did this live session as they had a new drummer and they were testing the waters a bit. Let's talk about just how amazing and gorgeous Tatiana is through the whole vid. She's a true metal queen. I've seen her interviews and she's just a gem!

So Jinjer is definitely a rabbit hole. You will enjoy the ride I’m sure. Most will suggest 1 of 3 videos next. “Teacher Teacher” , “Perennial live at Wakken” or “Who’s going to be the one” . Considering you’re kind of gothic theme you’ll probably like the last suggestion ( honestly you’re probably going to love all of them) the most. My personal suggestion would be to check out “Captain Clock” love at resurrection fest. This was the first Jinjer video I seen and what made me love them! Plus this is Tatiana ( the singer) in full on gothic mode. Either way enjoy the ride!!!

I came here for a female metal vocalists reaction to Tati’s amazing control- and before I watched it I had to look up your band to make sure you knew what you were talking about and GOD. DAMN. Y’all definitely have a new fan. With one listen to all your songs on Spotify (I haven’t even watched this video yet because I’m still listening to y’all!) y’all have immediately been added to the top of my playlist of favorites. There isn’t one that I don’t like, and that says a lot! Can’t wait to hear more from y’all!
This so g is only a small fraktion of what this band can do. They are all so skilled, and i bet you are going to love them even more, when you see more of their videos. I will recommend “Teacher, teacher”, “Who is gonna be the one”(live version), “ or “I speak astronomy” (live from summer breeze 2018), as one of the next songs.

ayyy, as you said, you found the Jinjer starting point. I'd highly suggest the songs teacher teacher and their live version of perennial. i'd also recommend checking out beggar's dance if you wanna see them completely jump genres in a "wtf, that's awesome" kinda way C:
