      I've only worked with PC-ABS so far and it was similarly "hard" to handle as ABS. I'm probably going to work on one of the PCs next, just to know, how they perform and are handling during printing.

    I love how you test the various filament characteristics of 3D printed Parts. You are one of a few sources when it comes to 3D material testig. Keep up the good work. One suggestion I might add is, that you should also test the raw filament. So you can also determin how much strength is left in the 3d printed part compaired to the not printed filament

    Thanks for the great video! I suggest to make test of the PoliPropylene (PP) filament next time. This material is outstanding and I think it's the best material with its features and resistant to almost everything (chemicaly, temperatures, hydrolysis, etc.) I ever used. You have to remember that there are different types of PP (mostly filaments are PP/PE copolimers), the more PP in copolymer, the more rigit material, more PE in copolymer and the filament is rubber like material. In some cases it can withstand 120 degrees and more which is great.

    I was using formfutura ASA (ApolloX) and biggest problem I have is layer adhesion. I have managed to print some really steep angles and complicated pieces but at the sacrifice of layer height and print speed. I have no cooling at all when I use my ASA, from what I have found the best way to use it just just to get it as hot as possible and print as slow as possible.
    If I was to upgrade my filament heater/hotend on my S5 would that improve adhesion?

    Thank you for sharing Stefan! Would you share a video about different ways of printing with ASA? After watching your videos, I have tried printing with Forma ApolloX ASA but have had terrible results. I've tried different temperatures, drying the materials and different layer heights but never seem to have a "tough" part. In general my parts are always brittle and have very poor layer adhesion even though they look good and don't appear to have an obvious warping or layer separation.
    What I have been using. Ender 3V2 w/ Microswiss Hotend. No enclosure, using draft shield. Attempted temperatures from 235 to 255.

    • @ChristopherJones16
      @ChristopherJones16 2 года назад

      I think ASA and ABS like the same printing environment.. both can be printed in non-enclosed printer but as long as the surrounding environment is controlled. (no windows nearby, room is heated well, etc). I heard simply printing in an enclosed printer just makes life easier for getting better prints. I heard of some people using cardboard boxes to build an enclosure to print ASA/ABS and some using a plastic garbage bag.
