thank you for the video, I may have had instructions. But having some visuals to help guide things along always makes things easier. Granted the touch feature i practically worthless for what i'm doing, but for now it's neat to have.
Are the drivers needed only for the touch screen functionality? Does the screen work AT ALL without drivers? I assumed that since it's conneted with HDMI, it would work without drivers and that the drivers were only for using it as a touch screen using the GPIO connection.
Had a thought watching this... How about a duel touchscreen that works like a laptop. You could multi task on it or just use one as a keyboard. Maybe try to fit two pi3s in this portable device.
I followed everything you did. When entering the command prompt my driver file is called LCD-show.tar.gz so I entered "cd LCD-show.tar.gz" and it says it is not a directory... What command do I enter?
Novaspirit Tech Tried that and same result .. This is the screen www.amazon.com/LANDZO-Touch-Screen-320480-Raspberry/dp/B01IGBDT02 I downloaded the drivers off of the disk provided with the screen, maybe they are the wrong ones? I'm running a fresh install of Jessie on a Pi3 . I appreciate the reply
Do you have to install the drivers if you don't want the touchscreen function and just use it as a screen? Please help I am trying to set up a portable media player for my kids
Hi, I have a question, after install drive my Raspberry restart and not pass of colors open screen. I use Ubuntu Mate 18.04 I install the .tar.gz drive that includes the CD of the LCD screen Raspberry 3
Could you tell me how to undo this? I got a cheap 3.5" touchscreen on ebay and got it to work but didn't realize that it would default to that screen whether it was installed or not. (Newbie mistake) So what do I need to do to switch back to HDMI? or is there a pi program to switch the outputs? Thanks!
thanks a lot for these awesome videos.......I need your help......I was using my pi3 as a torrent box and after about 1 month I started to see some pixelization and marks on screen, I am using HDMI to DVI cable, so after some time my display was completely black, I re installed raspbian several times still no luck, no help from raspberry pi forum so can you please help, tried different cable, memory card, different monitor
hey what's up I like your videos and I have a question about Raspberry Pi zero especially the new one with Wi-Fi is it possible to hook up a touch screen to a Raspberry Pi zero if so could you explain how to do it because I would like to do that as a bit of a project
hey man can you helpme?, i did everything what you said, but when rass reboot all network adapters + WiFi disapeared what could be a reason?, i installed it in Noobs, its necessary install it in raspbian with image methods?
Hello, a noob here. I put the tar.gz file in home and extracted and ./lcd35-show but when it reboots. Just a white screen. Works fine with old rasperian but doesn't work off the driver download. Hope English was good
For whatever reason I am unable to set up a 3.5" waveshare touch screen with kali linux ARM on Raspberry Pi 3. I can get Kali Linux to work, but whenever I try to set up the screen, the Pi freezes when it reboots after configuration.
Hi your video is good but you talk too fast and I cant keep up with you on the install on the drivers. Where can I get a printed version of your instructions please? If I unplug the 3.5” screen after powering down the Raspberry Pi can I go straight back to my 22” TV screen via the HDMI. I haven’t purchased the 3.5” screen yet but will once I get something on paper
Ok seriously this is where im lost. I installed the Lineage OS built for the Pi 3. I imaged the card and when I boot up with it, All I get is a flashing touchscreen. I need the drivers. I hook it up to an external monitor and still no video. How am I suppose to install drivers if I cant get it to boot or show anything????
Do any of these little screen work right off the bat without touch effect. And work as a common monitor. I want to buy a small screen. The local electronics dealer sell the smallest monitor of 22 inch. I do not need something that big. But they do have a 7 inch touch screen. But the do not say if I can boot it up as common HDMI monitor with with out the companies drivers. Or if the Linux generic drivers will make it work as a common monitor?
drop into terminal in retropi or kodi, and follow the same commands i would to install the screen, i'll post up a quick video when i get a chance on facebook or twitter
Thanks for the video Novaspirit tech. pls help with my audio and usb mic config on pi 3. i got this error when i run "google-assistant-demo" from the last video: OpenAlsaHandle PcmOpen: No such file or directory [3141:3193:ERROR:audio_input_processor.cc(756)] Input error ON_MUTED_CHANGED: {'is_muted': False} ON_START_FINISHED ON_ASSISTANT_ERROR: {'is_fatal': True} [3141:3234:ERROR:audio_input_processor.cc(756)] Input error ON_ASSISTANT_ERROR: {'is_fatal': True} pls help. i edited the /.asoundrc file already.
first of all you will need to make yourself familiar with Linux. learn some basic terminal(just like dos on windows) commands. learn the basic file structure of Linux OS. As in which file is stored where.. then you can move on to python. do some basic input output examples first.. then try some gpio examples.. hope this will get you started.
hoped you guys like the little intro!

Badass intro with the music. I loved how it was quick n classy, wasn't overly pretentious like a lot of other channels out there. Thumbs up!

So cool watching the master at work!
I unsubscribed so I could subscribe again . "Double thumbs up"
Finally found a person who can explain things

If you go to the directory LCD-show
And run the command
./LCD-show HDMI it will revert to external display
Had a thought watching this... How about a duel touchscreen that works like a laptop. You could multi task on it or just use one as a keyboard. Maybe try to fit two pi3s in this portable device.
Glad I found your channel
What a great video. Does the screen plug direct to the pi? Can it used with a cable to connect to a breadboard, if yes, how would you do it. Thanks.
Your new intro makes old people dizzy.. ;~}
Good! Keep it up!
Once driver is installed for a small LCD, is it possible to go back and forth between it and larger monitor just by hooking hdmi cable to either one ?
Romy Kim same question, can someone answer it
You may know the answer, when using HDMI on a regular monitor (or TV) is there any delay? Is the Delay a thing that happens only to TVs?
Thanks!
I followed everything you did. When entering the command prompt my driver file is called LCD-show.tar.gz so I entered "cd LCD-show.tar.gz" and it says it is not a directory... What command do I enter?
Without the .tar.gz at the end
