Wow! This made my day! I had the hugest smile on my face the whole time. I grew up watching you on MTV and it was one of my first, if not THE first, exposure to glam rock, which became instrumental for me. This is seriously the coolest thing ever! Thank you for giving us a listen and analyzing it so intelligently. Also, an absolutely killer velvet jacket 🖤🤘
I went to see The Darkness play a couple weeks ago at the Truman in KC. My mother always had the first album in our 6 disc car stereo growing up lol. I had just gotten my braces in before, so my mouth was non existent, but the show had inspired me to no end, thank you!
I just saw Moon Walker live and it was the most incredible show ever! Harry no joke stayed 2 hours after the show and spoke to EVERY SINGLE fan who wanted a photo or to just say hi. It was so wonderful and I can't wait to see them again! Harry writes such viscerally blunt lyrics that not many people are willing to put out there.
What an intelligent dissection. You say so much I’d never notice. Like the similarities to funk or the Slash motif in the song. It really makes me appreciate the music more
Justin!!!! I saw The Darkness for the first time last week in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It was the first live music show I’d seen since the beginning of the pandemic. Can’t express how happy it made me to see people getting off on live music. The energy was incredible and I was blown away. That show literally shown a light in my darkened heart where live music once lived. Can’t thank you enough. New fan for life ✨
Love your channel. It would be great to see you do a Cheap Trick video when you get a chance. I'm hoping The Darkness will have a long career like Cheap Trick and will still be touring 20 years from now.
My sister just gifted me a Cameo video featuring you, thanks for the birthday wishes and the advice on singing at my brothers wedding. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Looking forward to seeing the Darkness next Sunday the 24th in Boston Ma. at the Royale. It will be the first time I have seen a live band in 3 years. Very excited!
YES! I was one of the people who suggested these guys. I was so so so happy to wake up on see this on my home page. I'm so glad you enjoyed the music and so glad you covered one of my favorites of theirs! Never even noticed the funk influence, so thank you for pointing that out for me! I love this so much. You are the best, mr Hawkins!
Absolutely gutted that I’ll be missing the upcoming The Darkness show in Toronto. Eye surgery has knocked me out - Easter has surely been canceled. Please ride through again, soon!
Justin, today I bought a songwriter standard because you’ve got one, Gibson owe you! Saw the Darkness at the Barrowlands around Christmas, great gig, all the best mate
Admittedly, I’d never heard of these guys before but I’m so intrigued! From just their looks alone, they give off a T. Rex vibe - there’s something there visually (& somewhat sonically) that just reminds me heavily of a Mickey Finn and Bolan duo. I can definitely sense some magic in what they have going for them!
you must be over whelmed with requests - we all love your honesty and humor. I will throw a few requests...1) Sleep Token 2) Opinion on Deep Purple MKIV (Tommy Bolin).
Volbeat! I like it, and your quirky/clever presentation coupled with being able to pick up your guitar and play Anything makes watching your videos very enjoyable. Keep on rocking in the free world Justin😀👍
At sixty1 I don't see as many shows as I used to and just got turned on to your band in the last few years, these little videos are cool as it turns me on to musica I haven't heard before. Keep it up have a great day
Great video- another good find. Saw the Darkness in Toronto Tuesday night and it was the best I have ever seen them (my 6th concert). Even better then early aughts.
Happy Easter.. I am wondering how you keep filming in the same room while you are out on tour? Anyhow Justin, Thanks for the video it was enjoyable.. See you in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Tuesday.. I am so excited to see The Darkness for my very 1st time!!!
Dear Justin, thanks for educating me a bit more again, again. I was left speechless by your palm tree brooch on your velvet jacket. Stunning and original yet again! I am really enjoying your channel, this was another fun video, you are very inspiring sir! I hope you have a beautiful day ; ).
I've recently heard of them (because tour with Ghost) but this is my first time hearing them. Based on this song I'd say they sound like if The Doors took A Perfect Circle's place. And that's not a bad thing.
Justin!!, Really enjoyed the Darkness in Tempe,AZ. Great show! It was my 4th time seeking you n your band . The previous 3 times were in Chicago where I used to live. Cheers!
Hi!!!!! It’s Jonathan. I saw you in NY today and did the vip thing (if you remember me). I just wanna say that you and the boys put on the best show I will ever experience! The Darkness are and always will be my favorite music. I was very fortunate to be in the front row and witness pure rock and roll! Come back soon 🤘 (my gf rly wants to see u)
This has so much soul. Thanks for introducing me to it whoever requested it. I’ve said it before, it would be fascinating to hear an analysis of some Everything Everything. One of the most inventive bands around, while retaining an incredible level of accessibility. Maybe Distant Past or Regret off the excellent Get To Heaven album, or Night of the Long Knives from A Fever Dream.
I seem to like all the suggestive-throwback bands you talk about... Struts, LP, now these guys. Aside from probably having the same taste (lol), I think the common theme is these are people/musicians that enjoy songwriting, and not making music just for celebrity status. I really appreciate your channel.
Hey Justin! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and exposing me to other artists and bands. I'd love to hear your thoughts on The Lemon Twigs. I'm not into everything I hear by them, but think they're always really musically interesting. My personal favorite song is The One 🤘
It's one thing to be influenced by a look, but to rip it off entirely is a bit much (Marc Bolan). He could front a T.Rex cover band. I know a group of people who are now huge fans of The Darkness after seeing them live recently and learning their album catalogue. They thought they had one good song and were a "Steel Panther" band - now they realize they are one of the greatest rock bands going.
Another new band to check out 👍 Thank you sir..!! My playlist is getting better and better because of your videos.. As they say here in Northern Ireland “keep er lit” or keep going in proper English 😂 love your content ❤️
Great show on Saturday! Justin took someone's phone who was texting in the front row, and face timed his girlfriend on stage. Hilarious on so many levels, put your phones away people! You're at a Darkness concert!!!
That's a pretty interesting sounding band, the singer/guitarist definitely has a Marc Boland vibe and that's exactly what the rock world needs right now, an interesting band that sound really good,
The video I never knew I needed! I personally love Moonwalker. They've got a brilliant mix of old influences, while still sounding totally fresh and unique. I always got a Stevie Wonder vibe from their song "Disturb Suburbia"
When the old people in your comments are saying “finally some real music!” The music is derivative. When they’re complaining about how bad it is, it’s brilliant 👍

Love your music
I love it when the people Justin analysis reply 👍
Never heard of you before but you have a great sound 🎶
@Moon Walker I love your music! Never heard of you guys until this video. I glad I know now!
I listen to moonwalker every day!!!
I went to see The Darkness play a couple weeks ago at the Truman in KC. My mother always had the first album in our 6 disc car stereo growing up lol. I had just gotten my braces in before, so my mouth was non existent, but the show had inspired me to no end, thank you!
Holy crap! 0:10 😳 the precision of Justin singing along to each note he hits on guitar is absolutely incredible

One of the best live bands in the rock/hard rock genre working today🤙
Another great episode! My wife and I saw you guys last night at Jergels. You were fantastic! Hope to see you again!
Much respect!
Thanks for coming!
It was everything I hoped it’d be. Thank you Justin. I’m going to listen to it differently now
Love your channel. It would be great to see you do a Cheap Trick video when you get a chance.
I'm hoping The Darkness will have a long career like Cheap Trick and will still be touring 20 years from now.

Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Was fortunate to catch The Darkness at Jergels last night. First time seeing them since Stage AE way back on the Hot Cakes tour. I was enthralled!
Thanks for coming!!
Pittsburgh in the house!!
I love this channel, Justin. You are so witty and charismatic. You always suggest the best music. This is absolutely brilliant, as always.
That's an exciting song! Really well done. Thank you to whomever recommended it!
Looking forward to seeing the Darkness next Sunday the 24th in Boston Ma. at the Royale. It will be the first time I have seen a live band in 3 years. Very excited!
It's going to be great!
@@JustinHawkinsRidesAgain I know it will be. I shall be at the ROYALE with "Bells and Whistles" on for The Darkness Live experience! Can't wait!
That bass riff and groove sent me straight to Kraut-Rock band Can.
This is one of the most original bands you’ve covered yet. I vaguely hear the influences but it also sounds like rap to me. Good stuff 👍
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Not just the jacket, the groups good too 😁
Love it as always Justin. Have been hoping for this. Didn’t disappoint
YES! I was one of the people who suggested these guys. I was so so so happy to wake up on see this on my home page. So glad you enjoyed them Justin. They’re a fantastic band
Wow that was brilliant. Thank you, Justin
Justin the jacket looks Ace on you! Thanks for this, never heard this duo before. Love it!🖤
My favorite thing you said that is spot on is: “There is too much perfection in music today”
Justin does a better random lick after his intro than most of us could come up with after 20 years of playing!!
It’s refreshing to see an attitude driven group not relying so much on loudness/distortion
There’s so much promise for this band. The influences range far and wide. You should listen to “Doombox”. It’s their new song. The riff is a monster
One of the best songs I’ve heard in years and comments are dissing on the singer for looking like Marc Bolan? New favorite band
you must be over whelmed with requests - we all love your honesty and humor.
A very interesting group…. They used to perform as “The Midnight Club”. The music was even more like T Rex and Bowie. Pure glam. Love both projects.
I KNEW it!
Brilliant! Your lick in the intro was amazing 😍
Great discovery! Thank you, Justin 👍
Maestro, I’ve just discovered your channel. I’ve been a fan of your work since “permission to land”. Lovely to spend this time with you.
I've been turned on to such cool music since I became a The Darkness fan. Also, thanks for teaching me how to pronounce "oeuvre" and "raison d'etre."
At sixty1 I don't see as many shows as I used to and just got turned on to your band in the last few years, these little videos are cool as it turns me on to musica I haven't heard before. Keep it up have a great day
I saw The Darkness in Charlotte Friday night…great show Justin! I hadn’t seen an artist crowd surf in a while! 😀
I’m so happy you enjoyed them. A brilliant group
This band is really buzzing on the Spotify algorithm… been getting them in there more and more… some of it is good
best band you've suggested yet...
Wow. That's a fantastic jacket!
brilliant little tune. really enjoyed the groove and attitude. some lyrics were very good as well
What a delightful velvet jacket!
Great video- another good find.
Saw the Darkness in Toronto Tuesday night and it was the best I have ever seen them (my 6th concert). Even better then early aughts.
Always a good day when I’ve got 2 Justin Hawkins videos to catch up on
Saw The Darkness in Adelaide in 2006.
Hand on heart, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Great share,interesting band!Happy Easter!
Finally!!! So happy right now!!!!
Wow. Amazing song and reviewed excellently. But of course because it's this channel
😊 Justin you spoil us. Thank you 😊
Good one Mr Hawkins.... 👍
That picture of them (0:54) reminded me of Sparks
I wish you would have reacted to tear down the wall. The riff is a beast
wow! what a cool solo! super pink floyd-ey...
I immediately heard David Gilmore as well.
That boy has a Marc Bolan vibe going on.
He looks a bit like Lenny Kravitz guitar player in the early 90’s. Also had a Bolan thing. The hair really does it.
@@CorbCorbin I know exactly who you're talking about, except I thought *he* was a dead ringer for Noel Redding. 😂
Another awesome intro :D

Love the jacket Justin. My favourite so far has to be the boating jacket you wore a few blogs back.
That is a wonderful velvet jacket!
What a cool sound… I’ll give the album a whirl
Justin!!,
Really enjoyed the Darkness in Tempe,AZ. Great show! It was my 4th time seeking you n your band . The previous 3 times were in Chicago where I used to live. Cheers!
Always love your videos, Justin but would you be opposedo speaking more about the darkness?
Looking dapper in the velvet jacket Mr Hawkins
As a connoisseur of velvet jackets myself, I must say that is definitely a lovely one.
I'm so happy I accidentally found them on Instagram, they're now definitely one my favorite artist
I love Moon Walker. So glad you listened
Fabulous! I did think Marc Bolan as soon as I clapped eyes on him! Good band (duo)!
That lick at the end of the intro was pretty slick. Justin Hawkins rides again indeed.
I love the lyric about corporatism disguised as Democracy. Spot on.
Totally Justin! I had the same thought when I heard the singer - sounds like Jack White
This is quite good. No frills. Good guitar, melody, singing, lyrics. Makes me feel how rage against the machine made me feel early on
This has so much soul. Thanks for introducing me to it whoever requested it. I’ve said it before, it would be fascinating to hear an analysis of some Everything Everything. 0 soul just derivative trash
Wow! Some of those lyrics are brilliant!! Like Pink Floyd’s “Animals”
I must agree with you J Hawk. Too much perfection in music. Love moon walkers voice cracks and feedback

Always looking snazzy, mr Hawkins

Some other guy mentioned all girl Japanese rockers Band Maid in these comments..just review the song Thrill...musician ship is outstanding.
That was an exciting track!! Quite sn energy

He’s also dressed like Abby Hoffman in the 60’s.
If he didn’t have the hair, it wouldn’t seem so Bolan-esque.

I always like you break down songs, its always interesting.
Best intro yet!
"there's too much perfection in music at the moment..." 👍
Just saw you at jergels in wexford. You guys killed it great show.
I love the Lisa Simpson improv bits in the theme choon.
Great show on Saturday! Justin took someone's phone who was texting in the front row, and face timed his girlfriend on stage. Hilarious on so many levels, put your phones away people! You're at a Darkness concert!!!
Part of bass riff reminds me of John Deconstruction Hot Space era. Like a slower Backchat or something.
The darkness are the greatest rock n roll band in the last 20 years, besides the white stripes
The Struts.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
@@jonathansteadman7935 I disagree go see jack white, and the darkness live it will change your mind
