hi Gary, if I may, I'll let you in on a secret: the technique used in Asian kitchens to tenderize meat is called velveting. The meat, be it beef, pork or chicken, is cut in strips as wanted and mixed with a blend of backing soda, starch (corn or potato) soy sauce, vetsin (ajinomoto) salt pepper, finely massaged for a few minutes and left in the cooler for a few hours. My parents used to own a chain (5/6) of Chinese Indonesian restaurants in The Netherland,s the first one which they opened around 1960 after my father came over from HongKong via London, where he worked as a cook for 4 years. I've been working in one of the restaurants from the age of 13 4 days a week after school. A buffet style restaurant serving all you can carry for 22pounds will most certainly not serve fillet of beef, but a cheap cut from the rear end of the cow. In the Indian cuisine they tenderise the meat overnight in a liquidy solution with yoghurt.
Nothing wrong with that, but if you're not wet brining your chicken breast you are seriously missing out. I brined a chicken for xmas dinner - probably the best chicken I ever had. Game changing.
Thank you so much Gary! We're local and we've booked a table for February! We always struggle with our children as they always want pizza, and Yorkshire puddings (yes ,they probably will be putting them on the same plate, as they love both). We're always restricted because of their plain palates, but now we've found somewhere to go as a one off treat which serves everything under one roof! No more pizza hut!
Another fantastic review mate. You're unpretentious and honest opinions delivered in a relaxed style make it very easy and enjoyable to watch. Glad to see your channel's doing well, keep it up😎
As always a pleasure to watch, Gary and I certainly must have something to eat myself while watching you eat all the delicious (well, most of it) food.

Never ever do I go to ANY of those "mixed cuisine" restaurants. If it says 'Indian, Chinese, Pizza and Doener Kebab ', I avoid it like the plague. It's never anything but microwaved industrially processed frozen food I've been served at such places. Just thinking of it makes me nauseous. All of the sauces are 50% sugar and absolutely terrible factory gunk.
@@GaryEats The point I'm trying to make is that not only do they not have a proper chef who is native to any of the cuisines they're offering, they have no real chef at all. Just a poor sod trained to open cans and microwave industrial food for minimum wage.
i had a local all you can eat chinese buffet which was superb. Then they changed to a mixed cuisine, indian and a few others. It was instantly worse and the quality dropped off the scale. Even the chinese food went downhill.
What amazing choice in a restaurant (I've never been to a multi continental buffet). I thought the turkey looked surprisingly good. Yes... I would love to see you review Mexican food restaurants (especially some spicy dishes). A great review.
Hi Gary, another great video, I love Chinese food but I was diagnosed with coeliac disease 3 years ago so haven't had Chinese since. I'd love it if you could let us know of gluten free options on your reviews.
@@davel9359 yep, it runs in families unfortunately, my sister and daughter has it, I haven't had a Chinese takeaway since I was diagnosed, they don't seem to give a jot so I rarely eat out now. Everywhere caters for vegans which is a lifestyle choice but don't seem to care about celiac which is an immune disease 😒
Love that your channels growing and nice to see what appears to be a genuine, honest and nice bloke do well! Proud that I was one of the first to sub! :)
Nice consistent content flow, Gary. Some people pump out content and the standard drops, not here! I've only been to a few buffets over the years, always hit and miss in them all, some food is great and some is really poor, but I guess that's the buffet thing, no real focus on one cuisine, so some food they seem to able to nail and others stuff not so much.
Thanks you, Gary for another detailed review. I think this eatery tried to really replicate something you’d find inside Las Vegas casinos. It is very brave to venture into so many different cuisines, and impossible to please everyone every time.! This one ended up Jack of no trade but master of one.( Chinese food) The pricing and ambience were definitely spot on and I would have given it a nice 8 out of ten. If you ever venture into Northwood, then you will find excellent authentic Thai inside The Three Wishes pub. Called Siam River Thai. You will definitely enjoy the food and excellent range of drinks. Can’t wait for your next food adventure.!
The three wishes.. You mean the misty moons run by Jen, the lovely Irish landlady? Fantastic pub. Good food from Siam. Drive a further 5mins to Rickmansworth and you’ll find Tamarind Thai cafe for some exceptional dishes for the price paid. Rickmansworth has a diverse range of bang for your buck eateries than any other town within a 8 mile radius.
@@CUINCOURT tamarind Thai cafe, try the beef pad Thai and penang curry. Tamarind duck and pineapple Fried rice are also some favourites. Also in Rickmansworth there is mangal express for chargrilled kebabs or fresh lamb donner. Real lamb meat, not your standard donner meat. Reviews can be found on RUclips by food review club. Also there is Minori, an Italian restaurant for their very good value lunch special menu. Mexica, the Chinese buffet is also incredible value for money at lunch.
Looks good Gary, will check them out. I've been told buffets generally leave the best food at the end of the room so people fill up on the cheaper stuff before they get there.
Another great informative review. When back in London can I suggest 1) Coco Ichibanya - a massive Japanese curry chain now landed in London 2) Yamagoya - a great value ramen joint in Waterloo 3) Di Lieto - Italian bakery and lunch joint near the Oval. Thanks!
@@GaryEats i have, about 2-3 years ago and I found it decent all-round but not special. Also tried nearby Yakiniku Like which is cheap and cheery but no frills, and Myung Ga does excellent but pricier Korean BBQ
Once again an excellent review. Thank you for the time and effort you devote to producing such professional, balanced and insightful reviews. May I suggest a review or two of some gastro pubs in London or York. I believe they can produce some excellent food and drink. Also a review of some more cafes in popular tourist locations such as the Lake District or Cotswolds.
Great review Gary .As I understand we are going to Cosmo in Bristol in a couple of weeks. Not being big eaters these days I'm sure we won't make the most of it, but now we have an idea of what to expect.
A bit different a world buffet. I haven’t been to one for many years and reassuring to know I’m not missing much. Looking forward to a Thai and Mexican review in the future. Thanks Gary👍🏻
The cosmo in Cardiff shut down a few years ago but I can remember there was too much choice....the starters and sweets were also good but after eating such a diversify of dishes a lot of people felt overfed and sick! Bumped into one old character who would take a sports bag in with silver foil and surreptitiously secrete a week's food into it....tutt tutt! Good candid review by Gary....don't forget the bag and tinfoil next time 😂😂😂😂😂😂
We have a Cosmo in Coventry, but it shut down due to food hygiene purposes. It was very good to be able to eat as much of whatever you wanted. I think you do feel a bit sick afterwards but that's on you if you eat too much but I recon there's a strange satisfaction to being overfed. Not an everyday thing to do but a new type of experience.
We still have one in Swansea.... although it's called nines now instead, but exactly the same as when it was cosmo, me and my kids go it does what it says on the tin!! Got yo be rolled out of there haha 😂
I’ve been to Cosmo Reading 3 times. I’d give it a 5 out of 10, but for a while kept going back. I have this thing for all you can eat restaurants and walking out groaning, half bent over from the weight of food in the stomach, scared a burp will result in a mini sick! 😂 Then switched to JRC Global in Watford, which is a similar sort of thing. Then did Sakoni’s Indian Vegetarian Buffett for a while. Might switch to Royal Nawaab in Alperton next!
Hi Gary...We love your videos can't wait for you to come to Ireland...We have a Cosmo in Dublin but there is another all you can eat called Global Cuisine in Dundrum in Dublin...The quality is much better not as much variety but a lot tastier we would love you to give it a go if you come to Ireland...We would also recommend a pub in Clonakilty in Cork called the Courtyard and Rosscarbery Traditional Fish and Chips in Rosscarbery Cork too you would not be disappointed. Thank you
Really enjoyed this review and the score is a fair reflection too. Cosmo is the only buffet restaurant i would frequent if I were in the mood. I am suprised you did not try the teppanyaki or the bbq as I feel those 2 sections are the star of the place being fresh to oreder although queues are huge at peak times. I usually go to those two 4-5 times and by then i feel to have gotten my moneys worth and anything else after is just a bonus. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work.
For Thai food I would recommend trying one of the Zaap Thai Street food restaurants. Some of the best Thai food I have tried in the UK. They have places in Newcastle, York, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leeds and Headingly. If you like Thai food you will like the food here, the menu is very extensive.
Me and the wife used to go to Doncaster’s cosmos once every 6 weeks or so, sadly now it’s gone so downhill it’s a real shame as the variety of food covers all bases. For all you can eat we now drive to Castleford to “new eastern court” Chinese , it’s so good maybe worth a review Gary if your ever in that neck of the woods it’s just off J32 of the M62. Massive congrats on 40k subs mate! Hugely deserved
If you like doing buffet restaurants there's one in Bristol called 'Za Za Bazaar' that is basically like a massive restaurant in a warehouse where you can essentially travel around the world food wise with all you can eat. Haven't been there for years but the food range was insane, there were different sections and food themed for each continent.
Years ago my kids used to love filling their pockets with the sweets from here that went with the ice cream and then compare their respective stashes 🙂
Greetings Gary! Great show as always. The Chinese ribs looked absolutely awesome! My wife who is Thai and we were both very intrigued by Thai contribution. I am a great fan of Thai green curry, but I'm not sure I have ever had it with beef, it's normally chicken or prawn. Apart from the undercooked Singapore noodles, I'm not sure I've ever seen Singapore noodles on a Thai menu. Understand what the chicken balls were all about they're a filler, they're not meant to be very tasty but would normally be used in soups.
You keep a good waistline Gary considering the amount of food you scoff. You seem to like your carbs and they do not seem to bulk you up. The buffet looks good - certainly the Chinese section. The Mexican superb - most definitely would welcome dedicated Mexican restaurant at some stage. Sushi a big bonus and the desserts look pretty good. The 1.5 hour they give you is certainly enough time to leisurely enjoy how you want to go about your meals. No worries with the 22 quid for me. The bottomless cup also good value. Come to Australia for Thai. The infused Australian cuisine across so many countries that you can get over here now is fantastic - especially with all the local fresh ingredients on offer.
Hi Gary, thanks for the review. Always good. I used to go to the Cosmo in Bristol back in 2011/12 it was good value, but visited again last year and it was awful really. Monday night, not enough staff, poor selection, felt ripped off. Should’ve visited a proper restaurant, maybe even a Wetherspoon pub if we couldn’t find one open that night of the week. You didn’t have a pudding! (Nothing left when I was last there)
I try to stick to buffets with just one region nowadays, although back when they were £10 you could kind of excuse the below average food at these world buffets. I went to an Indian buffet that was actually cheaper than this the other week and it was spectacular - all cooked in front of you, fresh, authentic and you really can’t beat getting freshly flame grilled lamb chops. Cosmo is just not my scene - I think it’s aimed at people who just want to pile their plates high with carbs and take their fussy kids for some nuggets - although I’m pretty sure kids over the age of about 3 are still charged £12 - bit of a bummer if you have a 4 year old!
Gary Great review! I think you need an Indian restaurant for Indian food. The same for Thai and Mexican. I am always worried about the prawns when they don't clean out the black vein. Good to see they had a 5 for cleanliness. I wouldn't use a restaurant without that in England. sadly here in Spain there are no ratings for hygiene.
Hi, Gary! Great review, and your boldness in trying "Mexican" food at a buffet calling itself Pan-Asian is simply stunning. Kudos to your courage, sir! I lived for over 20 years in Arizona and Texas, and we had a lot of Mexican-style food. What this buffet did looked very much like what we'd call tex-mex - not truly Mexican, but using some of the flavors and ingredients. Which, if it tastes good, is no harm, no foul. Mexican people often have a vast tolerance for other cultures trying their things - food, language, music, etc. And by the way, if you want to say "jalapeno" more like someone from Mexico might, it's kind of like hall-uh-pen-yoh. Hall like in hallway, uh like in I can't think of what to say so uh, pen like in the writing tool, and yoh like Sylvester Stallone would have said it in Rocky. Many thanks for another very enjoyable review! Looking forward to your Ireland trip (though I did vote for the US). 😆
That's a new one on me, so thanks for sharing the experience.Im sure Gordon is holding his sides laughing!! Im sort of guessing where you live so may I suggest the Thai in Epsom and the one in Caterham. Personally Ive completely fallen out of love with Thai for some bizarre reason.
Yes... often people don't see that they usually pay less for a good quality dish, but are thinking they get more from a buffet, just because they can load as much as they like. More quantity, to bloat up like a turkey, sure... But by my experience, usually eating a good dish somewhere is cheaper, better quality and more satisfying than paying a higher price for all you can eat, where you just fill up your stomach with - usually - subpar quality food.
It's nice they're giving you small Yorshire puddings. If you only want a taste, have one. If you want more, take 2 or more. That's buffet life! And if it tastes bad, then there isn't much waste!
Liked 👍and subscribed. Just discovered your channel and loving your reviews. We have something similar to Cosmo in York called Panda Mami, I think the trick is to go when it's fairly busy and they are constantly cooking the food and bringing fresh stuff out. Or, if it has cooking stations go to those and they'll cook fresh it in front of you. 👍
Nice video chap, nice seeing different types of food. Oh yes chap I love Mexican food, you must try a good Mexican restaurant 👌 £21.99 for all you can eat, it’s not too bad…..
Hope you're well Mr Gary and all in all I think it's okay when you look at value for money! Wait till you try Royal Nawaab! Make sure you go on an empty stomach but leave with a full one!😋 By the way, you didn't do any desserts.
I used to work for a company that often had Chinese visitors( people visiting from China) and we always used to take them to Our local cosmo rather than taking them to China town in london so i think that says alot. Also personally if you are going with a group and different people like different foods its a winner as there is something for everyone.
Food in china town London, is much better than cosmo in normally all the restaurants exc the all you can eat restaurants, cosmo is cheap quality can’t compare.
We have a Cosmo in Belfast, I absolutely love it, I try and fit in a little of everything , not everything is always perfect but there is so much choice you can move on to something else, The steaks are ultra thin but tasty especially with the seasoning, even the pizza is pretty good, one thing you missed was the deserts, from the chocolate fountain and mallows to the cheesecake and ice cream, all pretty darn good and really great value, especially if you are really hungry.
The Cosmo in Tunbridge Wells closed in 2016 due to food safety and never reopened. We ate there just once around 2010 and the food was cold and pretty bland and we never went back! Lucky we didn’t get ill lol
Hi Gary! enjoying watching all your videos. Superb honest reviews. A great Thai restaurant recommendation for you Sukhothai Restaurant in Hornchurch Essex. Authentic Thai cuisine, would be lovely to see you review it. Keep creating these fantastic videos! 👍👍
Hi Gary, been there, unfortunately, as I am not a huge fan of buffets.. My experience wasn't very good, but just had to follow the flow as some mates wanted to go after a stag party. At that time I couldn't find any Mexican food, which is a fantastic cure for a hangover, I love Mexican food. If you want to review quality Mexican food, go to Mestizo in Kings Road. It's just fantastic. Another fantastic review in the the bag, keep up the fabulous work, mate and speak to you soon. 😊🍻
Thanks Gary, great review. Haven’t heard of Cosmo in Derbyshire. The Chinese and the Mexican looked great - I love Mexican food and yes, please do a review in the future ! Have to say my experience of roast dinners in this Country is very poor so I don’t do Sunday lunches or carveries. Most places haven’t a clue on roasties and proper gravy and I don’t like not knowing the provenance of beef. 👍 if I were you I’d give up on the Rogan Josh 🤣🤣
I always wondered if they had any decent Mexican food in England. I've never seen any during my visits. I would love to see you visit Mexican restaurants.
@@TerryAckerman-c2n Too true, ate Tamales in El Serreno, and excellent 2am tacos from an old lady serving on the street. Also some hard tacos somewhere, which is controversial but apparently it was the best place for them. But even in say Georgia (which has excellent food) the standards drop fast.
Great video, there isn’t one near me, but if I’m ever near one I’d “give it a go!” What’d be interesting would be comparing the Cosmo in Reading, against one in a different area. You could do that with any other chains too….sorry for wanting to spend your money…..congrats on breaching 40k subs too!
I always worry about these buffet restaurants offering multiple cuisines… jack of all trades, master of none springs to mind. But there looked like enough good stuff to make a trip there worthwhile, especially with the Chinese section. Great review.
What a shame, you’ve not had much luck on the Rogan Josh front lately! The roast dinner besides the turkey looks woeful, as ever you were fair on your judgement. I went to a Tangs buffet restaurant in Staines well before the pandemic and I was impressed not sure what they’re like now but I felt giddy with excitement with all the choices and the little desserts they had. Another great video Gary 😃👍🏻
Thanks for sharing Gary very interesting ;) but I wouldn’t go there just for the Chinese I’d rather go to a Chinese restaurant and sit down and have it there ; in a Chinese atmosphere ;) all the best CQ 👍
Thanks Gary and hope subs now get to that 50K "KM Stone". I have mixed feelings with Seafood Buffets. I love picking one's own choice of meat/seafood cooked at these Buffets rather than being food already prepared. I fell violently ill in SF Bay Area eating cheap seafood. I enjoyed my experience at Taipan in Frankfurt, Schwalbach, a bit too far for UK subs. I love where you pick all the raw meat and fish, add the sauces and spices and noodles/rice you want and they just fry it up. Love that SHIRT by the way!!! Its defo not 'Arrods
Thanks Gary, another good food experience, personally I would have been happy with just the chinese but it was an insight into other foods and as such your efforts are greatly appreciated, thank you.
My therapist says I can get over my fear of buffets. But first I’ve got to want to help myself! Did you hear about the buffet run by mathematicians? They have a never ending pi special. Did you hear about the clock that went to the buffet? It went back four seconds.
Hi Gary - for Thai food, I can recommend Rabieng Thai Kitchen and Farang, which are both excellent. For something slightly different (Burmese), I can recommend Lahpet, which is moreish…
Another great video Gary. Love the buffet food reviews. Food sounded a bit up and down. But overall for the money not to bad. Be great to see a Mexican food review. And you trying some good hot and spicy food👍🙂 I loved your little dig at Mr Ramsey🤣🤣 as allways a massive thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 keep up the good work
We went to Cosmo in Bournemouth 2 weeks ago, watching your review was like a flashback. I too was really disappointed by the lack of Indian food and the quality . But we went on a Thursday at 5pm and the restaurant was rammed. This place makes great money I’m sure. For me the best bit was my 4 yr old son ate for £2.99. Wouldn’t rush to go back though. Great work Gary👍
I am sixty years old and never eaten Mexican food. Never had a Nandos (Is that Mexican?) Had a chille con carne when I was a Teen back in the seventies at a house party in London. Puked everywhere. Could never look a Mexican in the face after that. Must have been those red kidney beans because as an aduilt I love chille
Hi Gary, I have never heard of Cosmo before but it looked interesting. The quality from your review did seem mixed as to be fair it is with most buffets in one way or another. I think you get what you pay for as the price seems reasonable to me. It would be interesting to see you try a full Thai restaurant. There used to be a really good one in the Isle of Dogs but not sure if it’s still there anymore ?
I must admit I'm on the fence when it comes to these multi cuisine buffets. I just have difficulty believing they provide such a wide range of cuisines that are all done well. They maybe have their place if it is a large group and they all have a particular preference for a particular type of food. Personally I would rather go to a place that specialises in one particular cuisine and is good quality.
Another brilliant review and after watching it dont think I'll try it, not a fan of buffets and definitely would not go to a cosmos type place, rather stick to freshly cooked table served meals like Indian, Thai, Chinese type restaurants, but a very informative video Gary ( those chicken balls looked horrendous !!) and as normal very enjoyable and honest review, cheers Gary
Interesting review! The place seemed very busy. The Yorkshire puddings looked absolutely dreadful 😂 If you're looking for Thai places to review, my home town has a little family run place called Nat's Padthai. It's in Morley in Leeds and has some excellent food. Be interested to see what you think. You can eat in but they do offer takeaway too.
Went to a Cosmo in East Sussex years ago. ( £10 a head!) They had a chef who cooked your prawns. Food was fresh because of the turnover of customers. The trays replenished so often. Not the place for English food, as I recall. I would have given it 8/10. That said, I realise things change! Thanks for taking us along.
Ive never been to a world buffet place, anywhere, where they do non chinese food well. One of life's mysteries. Best Thai restaurants I have ever been to are the Plough in Leatherhead and the Thai Terrace in Guildford. The food in both is exceptional. The Plough is a Thai in a pub whereas the Thai Terrace has views over Guildford and is beautiful inside. Both are food perfection if you fancy reviewing a good one.
There was a Cosmo in Coventry which, sadly, closed years ago... but I used to go once or twice a year and always thought it was astonishing value for money.
Went to one a while back it was bloody awful. As a fan of Indian food all the options tasted like they came out of a jar - bland, underseasoned and really poor overall. The chicken tikka was truly appalling. I like to think they do make it from scratch but as a franchise it's also possible that they take some shortcuts. My kids didn't even like the desserts - ice cream tasted like angel delight; cakes were all pretty cheapo tasting and grim It definitely goes down well with the typical British Chinese slop-on-a-plate crowd though but for £22 I honestly think it's actually quite rubbish value for money. They should stick to the Chinese - which is clearly the area they know best - instead of selling half-assed 'world foods' to complement it
Good review Gary. There is a Cosmo in my city and I have always been happy with the food, but it always seems better in the evening than at lunchtime. I restrict myself to the World of Asia (mainly Chinese) and it is £16.99 for all you can eat.
What a place what a deal.... fantastic presentation impressive I am going to stop watching this at midnight.....why do I do it Fantastic array on that plate... another wonderful aromatic delight The pan Asian is really appetising...
Thanks for that, think I will give it a miss, if you are looking for a good Thai then I suggest The Giggling Squid in Brighton or there is also one in Hove, great food n a lovely setting , enjoy
If you're looking for good Thai food try out Tootoomoo in Crouch End. I had the Green Thai Curry and it was amazing. The portions are small but tastes really good.
I love Cosmo. There's a section in my local one that I can't quite figure out if it is meant to be the kids' section or the American cuisine section - did you happen upon a similar section?
Hi Gary and Mr Cameraman, firstly well done for now getting well over 40 thousand subscribers, at this rate this will become your full time jobs. Well tonight's review, blimey i thought i went around the world in 80 days in this vlog, what a lot of different food tastes were catered for here, but its overasly working for them as they are so busy. I agree with you some foods were better than others and i think 7 was a fair score. By the way my dentist daughter in London says KOL in Marylebone at 9 Seymour Street for Mexican food, she will not go any where else, and says it will get a guarantied 9/10 from you. Chris.

Very kind of you Warren - thank you.
Thanks you, Gary for another detailed review.
I think this eatery tried to really replicate something you’d find inside Las Vegas casinos.
It is very brave to venture into so many different cuisines, and impossible to please everyone every time.!
This one ended up Jack of no trade but master of one.( Chinese food)
The pricing and ambience were definitely spot on and I would have given it a nice 8 out of ten.
If you ever venture into Northwood, then you will find excellent authentic Thai inside The Three Wishes pub.
Called Siam River Thai.
You will definitely enjoy the food and excellent range of drinks.
Can’t wait for your next food adventure.!
Appreciated, thank you.
@@BamBoy88I’ll definitely “give it a go”, when passing Rickmansworth.
Thanks you for your suggestion.
Yep. Agreed Greg.
Another great informative review. When back in London can I suggest 1) Coco Ichibanya - a massive Japanese curry chain now landed in London 2) Yamagoya - a great value ramen joint in Waterloo 3) Di Lieto - Italian bakery and lunch joint near the Oval. Thanks!
Yes you may. Have you been to Kintan?
@@GaryEats i have, about 2-3 years ago and I found it decent all-round but not special. Also tried nearby Yakiniku Like which is cheap and cheery but no frills, and Myung Ga does excellent but pricier Korean BBQ
Once again an excellent review. Thank you for the time and effort you devote to producing such professional, balanced and insightful reviews. May I suggest a review or two of some gastro pubs in London or York. I believe they can produce some excellent food and drink. Also a review of some more cafes in popular tourist locations such as the Lake District or Cotswolds.
Great review again gary but where do you put all that food and never put weight on
Thank you!! Of course you can, fire away.
Thank you. I try not to eat too much when not reviewing.
Having never been to a World Buffet, your review made me think I had not missed much. Thanks for taking this one for your viewers.
Thank you Flower.
An amazing selection of food, another great review again Gary
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Great review Gary .As I understand we are going to Cosmo in Bristol in a couple of weeks. Not being big eaters these days I'm sure we won't make the most of it, but now we have an idea of what to expect.
Good stuff. Glad it could be of help.
A bit different a world buffet. I haven’t been to one for many years and reassuring to know I’m not missing much. Looking forward to a Thai and Mexican review in the future. Thanks Gary👍🏻
Hope you enjoyed it!!
41k subscribers!! Wow you really have taken off and well deserved. Another great review quite near to me, think I will give it a try.
Thank you so much Sue.
Good candid review by Gary....don't forget the bag and tinfoil next time 😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣 brilliant.
Hehe I was at a funeral when I seen a guy doing the same thing . That was in the eighties ...a very different time 😜
That the one in dragon centre? I remember going to a Chinese buffet in there about 20 years ago!
Congrats on 40k, and climbing, subscribers. Very good channel and very well worth taking notice of your reviews.
Thank you very much Mike.
Haha. That comment made me laugh.
Another great review Gary Thankyou. If you’re after a nice Thai restaurant then I’d recommend the Lime leaf in Basingstoke mate
Thank you Alan I’ll take a look 👌
Hi Gary...We love your videos can't wait for you to come to Ireland...We have a Cosmo in Dublin but there is another all you can eat called Global Cuisine in Dundrum in Dublin...The quality is much better not as much variety but a lot tastier we would love you to give it a go if you come to Ireland...We would also recommend a pub in Clonakilty in Cork called the Courtyard and Rosscarbery Traditional Fish and Chips in Rosscarbery Cork too you would not be disappointed. Thank you
Cannot wait to come to Ireland either.
Thanks for watching Kenny!
Thanks for the tips!
We went there a couple of months ago as Sheffield was being done up. It wasn't up to much. I wouldn't go back.
@@janetdiesnis456 I agree it’s such a shame as the Doncaster one used to be brilliant. Been to the Sheffield one twice and that was decent
Shame to hear that Matty. Thank you mate.
Went there for a stag do, was great as catered for 18 hungry lads with different tastes. Perfect for the night of debauchery that lay ahead!
Years ago my kids used to love filling their pockets with the sweets from here that went with the ice cream and then compare their respective stashes 🙂
Good kids. They will go far in life. @@internationalsixty1819
I know down by the Harbour. By the walkway bridge.
Yep. On the list for when I visit Bristol... next week!
Hello Ian. Fantastic stuff, I've only had it with Chicken as well.
Thank you. I try not to eat too much when not reviewing.
Fast becoming one of the best food reviewers! Keep going!
Wow, thanks!
(Nothing left when I was last there)
I was so full. I couldn't fit anymore in lol.
Not sure if it’s the best but I’d love for you to try Thai Square in South Kensington to see what you think. Loving the videos!
I'll check it out!
Thank you. Yes you’re right - you get too close to Jack of all trades, master of none.
Another fantastic food review, Gary. You were mentioned on the UK Macmasters channel today as one of his favourite food channels
Just seen Ray. Very kind of him to do so.
Thank you. Sorry it’s not the US.
@GaryEats oh well - maybe next time!
People get overly impressed by an all you can eat buffet, often forgetting that they only have one stomach.
I.absolutely agree. I don’t know how people can eat so much to justify the price paid. Hey ho!!
Yes... often people don't see that they usually pay less for a good quality dish, but are thinking they get more from a buffet, just because they can load as much as they like. More quantity, to bloat up like a turkey, sure... But by my experience, usually eating a good dish somewhere is cheaper, better quality and more satisfying than paying a higher price for all you can eat, where you just fill up your stomach with - usually - subpar quality food.
Lol eyes are bigger than their stomachs lol 😆
Haha I take advantage of it. I usually average around 5 plates and have to help out my family members too when they can’t finish
Speak for yourself
Always a joy to see a new video.
Cheers from London.
Thanks Naomi!
It's nice they're giving you small Yorshire puddings. If you only want a taste, have one. If you want more, take 2 or more. That's buffet life! And if it tastes bad, then there isn't much waste!
Very true.
Those were obviously frozen manufactured Yorkshire puddings - not worth the effort! =)
@@samtaholo Then it;s good that they're small.
Thank you very much 😄
Nice video chap, nice seeing different types of food. Oh yes chap I love Mexican food, you must try a good Mexican restaurant 👌 £21.99 for all you can eat, it’s not too bad…..
Thanks David!
More back catalogue perusal! Extremely calming entertainment at the end of a hectic day. Thanks mate! 👍🏻🇦🇺👍🏻
Thank yo7 for watching and commenting that’s really appreciated Peter
Hope you're well Mr Gary and all in all I think it's okay when you look at value for money! Wait till you try Royal Nawaab! Make sure you go on an empty stomach but leave with a full one!😋 By the way, you didn't do any desserts.
I'm well thank you Asad. Yes, in the end. I was a little bit full.
Looked absolutely amazing Gary fair play and definitely do Mexican its lovely food great content as usual my favourite food review channel.
Thank you Jeff.
I used to work for a company that often had Chinese visitors( people visiting from China) and we always used to take them to Our local cosmo rather than taking them to China town in london so i think that says alot. Also personally if you are going with a group and different people like different foods its a winner as there is something for everyone.
Very nice.
Great stuff!
The Cosmo in Tunbridge Wells closed in 2016 due to food safety and never reopened. We ate there just once around 2010 and the food was cold and pretty bland and we never went back! Lucky we didn’t get ill lol
Indeed.
Hi Gary! enjoying watching all your videos. Superb honest reviews. A great Thai restaurant recommendation for you Sukhothai Restaurant in Hornchurch Essex. Authentic Thai cuisine, would be lovely to see you review it. Keep creating these fantastic videos! 👍👍
Hi and thank you for the recommendation 😃
Hi Gary, been there, unfortunately, as I am not a huge fan of buffets.. My experience wasn't very good, but just had to follow the flow as some mates wanted to go after a stag party. At that time I couldn't find any Mexican food, which is a fantastic cure for a hangover, I love Mexican food. If you want to review quality Mexican food, go to Mestizo in Kings Road. It's just fantastic. Another fantastic review in the the bag, keep up the fabulous work, mate and speak to you soon. 😊🍻
Thank you for the recommendation Frank. I'll add that to the list!
Even the comments teach you something on here. It is great stuff.
Yes mate, no more rogan Josh for me. 🤣
I always wondered if they had any decent Mexican food in England. I've never seen any during my visits. I would love to see you visit Mexican restaurants.
I will try my best to find one.
Tbf there arguably isn't good Mexican food in most states in America. Only really the border states, & maybe 4-5 other big cities.
True, I fortunately (or unfortunately) live in Los Angeles, CA and there is no shortage of great Mexican food here!
I lived in Cambridge for a while and Nana Mexico there did really good food.
Thank you.
Yes please to more Mexican and Thai food!
Oh yes. Wll do!
Great vlog a measured review and great to the choices available. Overall I would it a 6 due to the variance in the quality of the dishes.
Thank you Colin.
I always worry about these buffet restaurants offering multiple cuisines… jack of all trades, master of none springs to mind. But there looked like enough good stuff to make a trip there worthwhile, especially with the Chinese section. Great review.
Yes you're right Greeno. Thank you.
Lol. Giving it a wide berth from this point onwards!
Thanks for sharing Gary very interesting ;) but I wouldn’t go there just for the Chinese I’d rather go to a Chinese restaurant and sit down and have it there ; in a Chinese atmosphere ;) all the best CQ 👍
Thank you Chris.
Great vid as always, have you thought about comparing supermarket cafés. M&S,Waitrose, Morrison’s. Keep up the good work 🙏🏾
Thank you! I have done, I think it's been done plenty of times though.
@@GaryEats Ok Gary love the videos. Thank you. 🙏🏾
Here's hoping! Thank you mate.
Thanks Gary, another good food experience, personally I would have been happy with just the chinese but it was an insight into other foods and as such your efforts are greatly appreciated, thank you.
More than welcome Colin.
My therapist says I can get over my fear of buffets.
But first I’ve got to want to help myself!
Did you hear about the buffet run by mathematicians?
They have a never ending pi special.
Did you hear about the clock that went to the buffet?
It went back four seconds.
😂😢😁
Lol.
Hi Gary - for Thai food, I can recommend Rabieng Thai Kitchen and Farang, which are both excellent. For something slightly different (Burmese), I can recommend Lahpet, which is moreish…
Yes David. I will take a look!
It looks quite genuine, I hope that they prosper.

Will do.
Very nice. Good value there.
Proper Mexican food is seriously underrated. I say give it a go!
I am sixty years old and never eaten Mexican food. Never had a Nandos (Is that Mexican?)
Had a chille con carne when I was a Teen back in the seventies at a house party in London.
Puked everywhere. Could never look a Mexican in the face after that.

I will give Thai food a go!
Gary please dont ever turn veggie 🌶🍆🥕🌽🥒🥦🍄on us..😂
Lol!
As always, Sir, thank you for your honesty.
You're more than welcome.
Fair comment.
Thank you Harold.
To be fair, I’m amazed you can expect perfection with so many cuisines under one roof.
Yes, I think they should streamline it with less cuisines.
Interesting review! The place seemed very busy. The Yorkshire puddings looked absolutely dreadful 😂
If you're looking for Thai places to review, my home town has a little family run place called Nat's Padthai. It's in Morley in Leeds and has some excellent food. Be interested to see what you think. You can eat in but they do offer takeaway too.
Thanks mate. Yes, the yorkshires weren’t good at all.
Probably frozen yorkies
Went to a Cosmo in East Sussex years ago. ( £10 a head!) They had a chef who cooked your prawns. Food was fresh because of the turnover of customers. The trays replenished so often. Not the place for English food, as I recall. I would have given it 8/10. That said, I realise things change! Thanks for taking us along.
10!! Wow, how times change indeed.
Gary you're a treat! So glad I stumbled upon your channel!
Awesome, thank you! Another lovely comment from you.
Interesting. I'll note them down!
There was a Cosmo in Coventry which, sadly, closed years ago... but I used to go once or twice a year and always thought it was astonishing value for money.
Glad you enjoyed it Jim.
My kids didn't even like the desserts - ice cream tasted like angel delight; cakes were all pretty cheapo tasting and grim
It definitely goes down well with the typical British Chinese slop-on-a-plate crowd though but for £22 I honestly think it's actually quite rubbish value for money. They should stick to the Chinese - which is clearly the area they know best - instead of selling half-assed 'world foods' to complement it
Yes, the desserts didn't look like something that I wanted to try.
Good review Gary. There is a Cosmo in my city and I have always been happy with the food, but it always seems better in the evening than at lunchtime. I restrict myself to the World of Asia (mainly Chinese) and it is £16.99 for all you can eat.
Thank you!
Thats because the leftovers and coocked food that remains from the night are being reheated for the daylunch service.
You can't knock 21.99.
Indeed!!
What a place what a deal.... fantastic presentation impressive
I am going to stop watching this at midnight.....why do I do it
Fantastic array on that plate... another wonderful aromatic delight
The pan Asian is really appetising...
Why do you do it to yourself Steve!?
Congrats on 40k, Gary. Well deserved!
Thank you so much 😀

If you're looking for good Thai food try out Tootoomoo in Crouch End. I had the Green Thai Curry and it was amazing. The portions are small but tastes really good.
Thank you.
I love Cosmo. There's a section in my local one that I can't quite figure out if it is meant to be the kids' section or the American cuisine section - did you happen upon a similar section?
Good stuff. I didn't see that section sadly.
