My Grandfather, Ronnie Kemper was one of the band members with Horace Heidt during the dinner scene while, "A knife, a Fork and a Spoon". He also could be seen singing during the Caballero of Broadway scene (playing drum). My Gramps always rented this movie to watch over and over again.
I was born in the late very late 60s you might as well call them the 70s for how late they were I can remember being about three and watching Neil Armstrong land on the moon you know his take his steps on the moon and see the comment one giant leap for mankind so yes I am old but I’m not as old as some of the people who looked at this and I have only one thing to say no matter how old you are it is definitely gold they all movies in the all songs they don’t they don’t die they can live forever because frankly they are not just memorable classics there the best.
46...kids played kick the can & played hide & seek for city block, never locked doors, keep doors open during summer time, neighbors constantly helping one another, block partys.Oh an family dinners every evening at dinner table. An weekends meet over at grandma's & pa's all for family dinners bringing food dish..had dinner together..best food an laughter.
Born 1950 still Kickin wish we still had those days watching old movies during the middle of the day waiting on November 3 before all hell breaks loose prayers and best wishes to all
So great and a BIG thank you for whoever made it available free of charge - I watch only these kind of movies, who needs the new ones when we have such wonderful, educational old movies to raise our kids with clean minds and souls, keep these coming and show them to your kids - again thanks a lot
Thank you for posting this film, to get on in Hollywod you had to have TALENT, Act, Dance, Sing, this brought on the tears, what the world has lost real entertainment , A real feel good film ,thank you so much.
Not in this, nor in any of his pictures where there was singing, was James Stewart's singing voice dubbed. They tried it but decided they would be better off not dubbing.
Stewart made one more film, "Ziegfeld Girl", before going off to war. It would be 5 years before Stewart returned to films starting with "It's A Wonderful Life."
Thank you very much for uploading this I had a copy of it somewhere I found it on a classical film and I had all sorts of really old obscure films from the 30s and 40s and I had this as a copy a really good copy of this which I have no idea what happened to it may have gone the way of all things but thank you again this is really really appreciated especially by my daughter who fell in love with this movie when I showed it to her.
This was in 41' ? Hopefully before the Pearl Harbor attack, and the Pacific war. Or before Jimmy joined the Army Air Corp. Yes He served, just like Clark Gable ,and hundreds of other movie members .
Absolutely love hearing Jimmy sing! It's silly, I know, but he is an All Star! I will watch anything he's in! No doubt. Thanks so much for posting. Hope we are not the only one fortunate enough to hear/see this gem
perhaps Jimmy Stewart's said difficulty on the set was due to his PTSD from the war. While his PTSD enabled him to perform realistic, moving moments (it's a wonderful life, Mr. Deeds goes to Washington) it may have agitated him as well. I speak from experience, my children and I have PTSD ,OCD and anxiety disorders. One time you can be weepy & overwhelmed, another moment will set you on edge.
Love the movie and all of Jimmy Stewart's movies and the music is fabulous. It's a shame the quality of the video is so poor. It looks very blurry and a bit jumpy. Would love to see the movie that is better quality
Molly, Paulette Goddard, was in Zeigfeld Follies at age 13. She was married and divorced by the time she was 16. Then she met Charlie Chaplin and they became an item. At 26 She married Chaplin. 4 years later, 1940, they were divorced. Interesting.
As many times as I watch this movie this was my first time seeing when CJ asked Was it blood and Jasper reply was no CJ it tomato juice...and the officer looks away...the crowd was busting up..it was that officer'z look for me...
man, I was beginning to wonder if this movie had anything to do with the old radio game show of the same title. it sure took a long time to get around to it. this movie had way too many musical numbers for a non-musical. I was hoping it to be more along the plot line of Stewarts's "the jackpot." but this is a pleasant enough film and thanks for the upload.
I have seen most of Jimmy Stewarts movies and some how I missed this one - its one of the best. What the world needs is more of these type of movies - not all the garbage that we see today. Movies are suppose to be entertaining and this film entertains.
+ray... really? one of his best? I disagree. along with the movies listed by Stephen Adams can be included "Winchester '73", "Destry Rides Again", "Rear Window", "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and "Rope." bogart and stewart are my 2 favs. I think it sure would've been interesting to see these 2 in a movie together.
+Stephen... don't you think this movie bears a striking resemblance to "You Can't Take It With You"? the court and jail scenes and a house full of wacky characters all seems a lot like this movie to me. (I didn't realize I was responding to comments made years ago. I wonder if anyone will respond.)
Charles Winninger played Deanna Durbin's daddy in the "three smart girls" films. Deanna proved that a hollywood musical doesn't have to be dumb. it's a pity Deanna and Jimmy never crossed paths.
Thank you, I also like British comedies from about the mid 30's through the mid 60's also, strangely enough British military movies made in the same time frame. HINT HINT!!!!!!
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Such beautiful cars. Wonder where they are now?

Now this is America. Sad it’s behind us now. What a great country it was.
Hey I hear you . I’m with you 😭
One can't go wrong with Jimmy Stuart, it pleases me to know of him, I was born in 1950, what a great time to be a kid.
Born 1959,...Good days!

This is a good pic..laughter genuine and the boss are great...thanks for this..
When did the world change so much & things go so wrong? If the clock could be rolled back to the time when films like this were made.
Hollyweird couldn’t hold a candle to these old gems. Sad.
These actors ,actress.
Pure rare gems.
Absolutely love all the movies, being 72 years old and still have a good memory it’s wonderful To bring them back and enjoy them again and again
Fun film,lots of music!

Much Love and Admiration for Jimmy Steward. Years and Years of Great Entertainment.
Another delightful Jimmy Stewart movie!
He's got the groove on the harmonica
Wow big band era. Better than the 60s and 70s and beyond.great little movie. Even Jimmy's voice was dubbed.
Not in this, nor in any of his pictures where there was singing, was James Stewart's singing voice dubbed. They tried it but decided they would be better off not dubbing.

Sweet adorable movie!! With close captioning, too. Much appreciated!! Thanks

James Stewart one of our best actors ever !!!
He was one of our best actors ever give me a break
Could reach many levels portrayed by a close linked humanity the common man similar to Cooper
It's called acting. Jimmy Stewart was a master at it.
What are you even talking about??😮

Excellent your movies and desenhos.Pena auguns that does not come with built-in subtitle. Thanks for that.
Glad you are back!!! I detest the site & refuse to upload a single thing!
What do you mean please?
Awesome.
What a turkey, the only turkey that Jimmy Stewart ever was in as far as I know.
I'd like to see your definition of "turkey"!
Jimmy thought so. He once said it was "the worst film I ever made".
I didn't know jimmy could sing!
Gives you an idea of Jimmy Stewart in a Triangle Club musicale at Princeton a few years earlier.
The girl is a witch. Nice movie. I would never give her a second chance.
Agreed.

I agree. Hollywood has gone from royalty to the slumps. The top executives in Hollywood should all be given pinks slips!
deborahcolvin64. Deborah, why would sixty-five people give a jewel like this a thumbs-down ?
@@cleanshoelacesunderparis5472 Make that 102 thumbs down now. Whatever it is, they're not switched on.
Make that 122 thumbs down. Stewart himself said it was a dog.
One good use of you tube for me.
What's with the backmasking tape bleeding into the soundtrack.
