You've lived a pretty sheltered life if you feel danger here.

I’ve lived in Hastings for 40 years. Whilst I recognise the down at heel condition of the town and the social issues that come with poverty, I still love Hastings. The town has character that many other seaside towns lack. When the incumbent Tory MP is voted out next week then I believe that Hastings will improve and hopefully blossom to its true potential.

I grew up in Hastings in the 60' 70's and 80's and it was a beautiful place to grow up as a child. The parks, the beach, the ice rink and swimming pool. The east and west hill were amazing and always something to do.
It is a lot more run down now though and probably due to cheap package holidays. Let's face it it is the same with so many coastal towns now.

i just came back from there a few weeks ago to see some family in East Sussex and had a lovely visit. Hastings and Rye were the highlights of my trip. I spent three days walking up and down, all day long, the old town, marina pavillion, Rock a Nore, went all the way to Bexhill in fact via the long seaside bicycle path. Had a lovely walk through Alexandra Park and had fish n chips and a beer near The Stade. The East/West Hill and the Old town have more character than almost any town I've been too. The residentual area was fascinating to walk through, all those little townhouses each look mostly individual from each other and reflect the construction methods of the time they were build - I've not seen anything quite like it.
Not for one second did I feel like any danger, and I'd say besides the pier (which is utter sh*te with nothing on it) I'd say the town shows a lot of promise and could be humming with tourists with a few more attractions. In fact, Brighton was the one where I definitely felt a sense of dodginess esp around the st.james st area there were tweakers and all sorts - I certainly upped my pace on a number of occasions. Aggressive p*ssheads all over the shop, yelling at passerbys. Was glad to see the back of that city.

Well ,nothing in your video showed anything dangerous or were you to scared to go into the center. Or are you from Eastbourne tourist board trying to gain visitors. Loads go to Hastings for weeked from london for a jolly .seems no more dangerous than most places .

That’s the point of the video, there is nothing dangerous about Hastings despite it being statistically the most dangerous town in the county. I am London 👍

Used to go on holiday there in the 1950’s… Coombe Haven Caravan site! Went there on a job about 20 years ago & it did look somewhat down at heel… like a lot of U.K. coastal towns. Visited there again last month & the place looked so much better, with interesting antique shops, coffee shops & nice old pubs. It seemed to me that Hastings wasn’t ‘dangerous’ at all, in fact quite the opposite!

Don't get me wrong. Hastings can be dangerous if you look for it. But you'd have to dig deep and behave badly to find it. On the whole, Hastings is a pretty tame place to live.

Hastings isn't that bad. Some unsavoury characters, but compared to some other seaside towns in nearby Kent (Dover for example) or West Sussex (Littlehampton or Bognor) there's a lot more to see and do for a visitor

While describing a dangerous Hastings, you're pictures showed a very different normality. The only dodgy bits I was aware of (moved out of Brighton 2010, after frequent visits) were in St Leonards; pity you didn't show a pic of Bulverhythe in all it's "glory" to show the really crap bit.

  • @dragonseye00

103? 😂 For UK mid sized towns that's very low! 😅
There were some corners of Hastings that felt a little more dodgy, I think I some people dealing drugs (in bright daylight)... But yes, even thigh it was nice, calm and mostly beautiful, it's notable that many in Hastings do not seem to have a lot of financial resources, to put it mildly.

No surprise there. Ok it was many years ago when I was last there and thought then, what a dump. I thought it might have improved but I guess not likely with the way the entire country seems to be going down. As usual the U.K. always adopts the worst aspects of the U.S. which is also declining.

    Grow up with thesw clickbait
, boring, repetetive and recycled titles.
You missed the RUclips monetization wave. Try something new.
Ive lived here my whole life and you its funny to see now - the most dangerous town in east sussex - swimming with rich middle class types moving here.
    Try harder.

    • @POSTIEPLAYS
      @POSTIEPLAYS  15 дней назад

The title is a factual based on crime stats, the point of the video is to highlight it feels safe and a nice town and should not be considered the most dangerous town in the county despite its high crime rate.
But thank you for watching and listening to the content. I’m pleased to be described as rich middle class, I have moved up in the world 😂
I am doing quite well on the monetisation front, CPM average is £6.33 across my 7 RUclips channels and bring in around 1.1m views per month across them all.
Not enough to retire on but nice passive income and I haven’t made a video on any of the channels for about 6 months and the views from historical content continues to increase.
But the important part is the journalistic nature of debunking that these towns are unsafe.

As a Brightonian born and bred, and having lived in Brighton and Hove for the first 55 years of my life, I find your comment of Hastings being a sh*t hole a bit bloody rich! Brighton is a dump now. The council and incomers have ruined the 'city', the student accommodation along the Lewes Road is dreadful, the council have ruined most of the parks from the beautiful places they used to be, and they have allowed the demolition of historic areas only to be replaced by hideous blocks, borrowed from another nondescript architect, for another nondescript town. The Marina used to have covenants to try to keep the buildings within certain specifications so that it did not interfere with the views from the roads, or other local properties, but that's all gone out of the window now. I moved in two stages to other towns in East Sussex and regularly visit Hastings. It is a very nice place, beautiful parks and countryside parks, lovely history and charming areas, but suffering for decades from a lack of investment, and has a charm and warmth that Brighton and Hove has lost over the years. Not only that but everywhere you go in Brighton and Hove all you can smell apart from food outlets is cannabis! Yuk🤢 So glad I escaped😊

@@jeangenie5807 I moved from Brighton three years ago, having lived the first 66 years of my life there. I lived just off Coombe Road, just behind the new high rises in Lewes Road. It was fine in the 80s and 90s, but got gradually worse in the last 20 years I lived there. So sad, because I was so proud to be a Brightonian. I had local roots going back hundreds of years. I feel driven out, but am happy living just 10 miles inland.
