FYI, there's nothing special in Van Helsing's (whatever he's called) shot, except being supposedly placed where he should not miss, RNG level generation permitting it :P. Crossbow kills Vlad. Since VH dropped it when he got angered, you could've picked it up and used it against Vlad yourself. I don't know if throwing the bolt be hand does anything, but I don't see why not, knowing this game.
If you whip olmec's booster 3 times it breaks, and if you throw a blue arrow at a vampire it dies (don't need Van Helsing)
