@deepikaandbooksyoutubechan5004 i agree 100% years ago i thought who were my friends just used me i have a disability people feed off of that i was told
I was a huge Shaun Cassiday fan. Really, I actually came in the top 3 biggest fans in a contest put on by Tiger Beat. My friends even called to see if they could get Shaun to call me for my birthday. They called so much his record producer finally called and said he was out of the country but he did get all our messages and was overwhelmed that my friends went through all the trouble. I won a contest, again by Tiger Beat, for the most posters in a room. I had so many posters on my walls, they were like wallpaper. You could not see the paint on my walls at all. As a matter of fact I had so many posters I had to put some on my ceiling. Funny thing though, I was a big fan of his brothers, too. I had all my magazines and posters for both brothers for years. I held on to them way in to the 90's. One day I just tossed them. I kick myself now all the time. Now I'm saving all my 80's hair band magazines. Anyone remember Metal Edge and Circus? They are a big cry from Tiger Beat.
I was reading Tiger Beat back in 1968-72. It was a great fan rag for sure! Wasn't a Cassidy fan (Liked their Dad Jack Cassidy though), but LOVED Jonathon Frid and David Shelby from Dark Shadows!! Glad you won the contest, I never entered any as I never collected posters and such and could see all my walls with exception of having my bedroom door covered in cut out pics of many Hollywood stars and Old Masters paintings.
I grew up watching this as a 90’s/2000’s homeschooled Christian kid so this just brings back memories. I totally thought this episode was a dream I had many years ago and then I just remembered it was real so now I’m here. Thanks for posting this and sharing the nostalgia I appreciate it. Definitely watching the one of Nancy at the circus next 😂my favorite episode. Shaun Cassidy was such a cuties back then
I've noticed that some of the comments about Fenton and Frank bein' more like stunned, when they heard that there was no longer any hope of Joe bein' alive... I'll tell ya, everyone has different ways of expressin' their emotions when a loved one dies... When my Grandpa died, I bawled and bawled, but a year later, when my Grandma died, I just sat there, thinkin' "How can this be? She was fine, last I saw her." I don't think I really cried until well after her funeral..... so, don't do so much pickin' on the guys, more than likely they were more upset when they first heard about the accident, rather than when they finally saw the car.... there's always that time lapse that doesn't doesn't quite get accounted for..... I do love, though, how stunned Frank is when he sees his brother is alive.... a PERFECT reaction!!!!!
+Britt Dale You are correct. We all process death differently and we process EACH death individually. For example, if someone lives a long full life and has had the chance to come to terms with their own vulnerability, their own humanity, I tend to be grateful for their passing if they do so in their sleep and painlessly. When someone suffers, ie with cancer, I am also grateful that their pain and suffering has ended. I grieve HORRIBLY if a child dies - an unfulfilled life, so many dreams they'll never see, so many people loving them, left behind to come to terms with their untimely death...and I feel the same way when one of my pets dies - if they are old and had a great life, if they die peacefully in my arms - I don't cry for days, sometimes weeks and when I DO it's because I miss them - it's for ME not for them - I was 6 when I lost my baby brother and I wept for weeks - I was just heartbroken and ANGRY - how DARE God take him before I got to know him, why not take some criminal or wife abuser why Mikey I RAGED at his death and I was just 6 -- but at 12 when my grandfather died I was relieved - he'd had two massive strokes, my grandmama watched over him like a baby - she worshiped that man, she bathed him, dressed him, helped get him up and into his favorite chair, she fed him 3 meals a day and read to him at night - she lost HER life to him for those years he lingered with no quality of life whatsoever and his passing was a relief for him, for her - it was something expected - again, I cried weeks later because I MISSED HIM - it was what I call selfish grief AND THAT'S OKAY ... it's how I process loss and death is exquisitely personal and in some ways exquisitely beautiful coming from a long life well lived -- all of this is just my opinion
I almost forgot those great one liner Mr. Cassidy and Mr. Stevenson had in this show. I don't how they said them with a straight face or without laugh themselves . I know l could not do it without laughing .
Wish Robert Horton had had more screen time. He has such a presence and a wonderful speaking voice but had so little to do in this role. Oh, forgot, this programme was aimed at a much younger viewing market.
I wanted to hug Joe, Frank and Fenton. Frank and Fenton grieved quietly, but they were grieving. Joe probably realized it hadn't been a year, not only from the cologne, but also from his muscles not being in advanced atrophy. He was a bit stiff, but he knew he would've needed physical therapy in order to walk and run normally if he'd been bed-ridden for a year.
He probably guessed that something didn't add up when he looked in the mirror, and noticed that his hair didn't have signs of growth, and no shaved areas that would have been common procedure for a serious head injury
for such a supposedly horrific accident there is an astonishing lack of cuts on his face and blood on the ambulance ride - I've seen bad accidents and they look like scenes from a gore horror flick - blood everywhere and the stench of iron in the air ---
I loved this show growing up. Rewatching this though, I wondered why the “Red Chinese” turned the bodies over to the United States. In the 1970’s and 80’s, Hong Kong was still under British rule.
Thanks for uploading! I always thought Frank and Fenton's almost non-reactions to Joe's supposed death was odd. They just kinda seemed bummed. Though I'm sure that acting was considered first rate at the time, lol. Despite that, though, I just love these old episodes. And Shaun's feathered hair.
If my mother would not buy me a copy of Tiger Beat with Mr. Cassidy on the front of the magazine I would throw a teenage girl crying 😢 all over the store
I loved the show as a teenager! I loved Shaun Cassidy, but Parker Stevenson had better acting talent. Pics of both Cassidy and Stevenson on my wall back in the late ‘70s.
This episode freaked me out for so long, and still does. Reminds me of The Hardy Boys Lost trilogy, which I adore. But my question is, what did they do to Joe in surgery?
I loved that trilogy as well! There's something about Frank being the imperiled one for a change. Ah, shoot, the danger is why we read the books, is it not? As well as the brotherly bonding. That put the books way ahead of Nancy Drew for me.
James Hong as Dr Lo is still acting as of June 2024 with several appearences sceduled. He was a scientist in "Blade Runner". Dianna Maldauer was Dr Pulaski for a season of Star Trek The Next Generation. The plot for this episode is very similiar to the James Garner film "Thirty Six Hours". Garner is an American soldier who wakes up in a military hospital a year after the imvasion of Normandy. But is it really an American hospital?
I don't understand why they went through so much trouble making him think it was a year later? I mean why? Its not like the date would effect what he told them.
@@sarojni21 they explain that by making it year later the info would be useless. Because Chang would be safe then. The crooks lies about date so joe would tell them the plan
@@LE-zy2od yes and they did that to get the information out of him. He would give it out easier if he would think that it wasn't important anymore and if he would think that giving it out would be helpful for the investigation of his dad and brothers case. Any other scenario he would be suspicious if they would try to ask him about it or would go into the defensive and not give out the info at any cost.
One year in a coma? He would have lost his ability to sit up and move his arms, unless his muscles were manipulated. I love Shaun, but he should never cry. Ugly!
