    How come you didn't go over 6pc bars? They used to be all the rage and now you never see them. Was there a functional problem with 6pc bars?

    • @danscompvideos
      @danscompvideos  3 года назад +1

      6pc and 8pc are nonexistent these days, although they did look cool back then. The more welds you have, typically, the stiffer the bar, but there's a valid argument that having too many welds can cause premature failure. Chromoly is designed to have some flex to it to absorb hard impacts. If the bars can't flex when they need to it can cause cracking.

      @@danscompvideos Thanks for that info. Seems like something nobody really talks about or mentions. It's like they just disappeared. But there are many trends in BMX like this.

    Question: im 5’8” and was wondering what size bars for my cruiser build. Currently racing a mid school dyno and the bars are i believe 8” but it feels comfortable. Do the rise of the bar effect control of the bike when hitting jumps? Im a novice with half a year of racing experience

    • @danscompvideos
      @danscompvideos  2 года назад

      For a cruiser you likely want something around a 5.5" rise. A lower bar will make the bike feel more responsive but you also need to be comfortable. For your height a 5.5" would be about ideal.

    Hey Dans Comp!
    Quick question:
    If I have 27.5 width bars and want to go down to 27 width, would I cut .5 off each side or .25 off each side?
    Thanks for clearing it up. 🙂

    • @danscompvideos
      @danscompvideos  2 года назад

      Good question. You will need to cut off 0.25" from each side to make them 27".

    • @vl995
      @vl995 2 года назад

      @@danscompvideos ahh Word. Gotcha. Yeah I think I'll leave them as is. Jr's not worth cutting .25

      9" is pretty tall for you. You might be able to get away with it if you have a low rise stem and no extra spacers, but you may be better off with something around 8.5".

    Bmx handlebars are the best for commuting. It gives you both control and agility for manouvers in the city, but it's also comfortable like a cruiser handlebars. It's literally the best of both worlds
    Bmx and flat handlebars with enders (the bullhorn) are the two configurations that I use on my 2 bicycles
