I appreciate the sustained footage in your video. Most comparison coverage are short clips which make it the difficult to really scrutinize the shiny specular reflections (and I also like the middle screen-split compare). A suggestion would be showing a 15 second scene in PS5 and then replay the scene on the Pro? Either way, this is the perfect game to show the difference in the Pro. Nice video!
You can run GT7 on resolution/raytracing mode on a 120hz screen with vrr which unlocks the frame rate and keeps all the visual fidelity. The PS5 Pro it’s not doing much, better invest in a good screen if you already have a PS5. I wouldn’t even consider Pro console without a high end tv that supports vrr and high refresh rate.

While this video isn’t an opinion piece, I’ll go ahead and give my first impressions here. Ray tracing: it looks horrible on metallic paints. I don't like side by sides because it forces your eyes to jump back and forth across the screen making you lose focus of the details. If anything this is just proof that PD knocked it out of the park with GT7 on base PS5. The only reason I'd shell out for the Pro is to address some of those sub-60 fps moments you can get on busy grids in the rain.
In my humble opinion, the 5Pro is going to be significantly better with a good high end tv and the better resolution is going to make updated games look better Gran Turismo 7 included. Most gamers are on the fence right now regarding the $700 price tag of the Pro as a base model being quite up north in terms of price regardless of having all the bells and whistles in graphics. RT is just one of things and in GT7 I coudnt care less if its there or not since it goes out the window the moment you race its not a selling point exactly even a 4Pro can still churn GT7 and the graphics looks better RT or no RT. I think RT makes GT7 look like an arcade. Id stick with the 4pro resolution with good physics, thank you
Cool...I'm perfectly fine playing the PS4 version. This whole chase after graphics is stupid. I understand if the game was 30fps and now it's 60fps...than sure, that's a big change....but it's already 60fps on ps4, ps4 pro and ps5 so waste of money.
What's the max resolution in the 120hz performance mode on PS5 Pro? I know on the base PS5, the resolution gets downgraded to 1080p. Is it 1440p on the pro?
Watched it on my phone, and one just looks darker than the other. Watched on my big 75 inch 4K TV in the livingroom however... ohhhhh now I see it hahaha. Yeah, the cockpit reflections and shadows look better. Cars and environment - yeah slightly, but moves so fast most of the time that it's subtle. Will actually play the game and psvr2 when I get off work to see the in person version.
man, these are such small upgrades for seven HUNDRED dollars. I think graphics tech has hit a good point where it doesnt really matter to me anymore. İf a game is made with an ok budget, it's gonna look good.
What the hell are you taking about? This is not a ps6, its improving existing game, did you expect a new version or something? Its also going to vary on game to game basis. For ex. Callisto protocol is twice the framerate on the ps5 pro while looking better. You just dont understand how games are built
Ray-tracing is so overrated. I see little difference besides the interior, and if you're driving at high speeds you're going to be focussed on the road, not the graphics.
I think if it I had the spare money lying around I'd rather give it to a charity than waste it on this, it looks absolutely fantastic on normal PS5, stop buying into the obsession on graphics and resolution and then we might actually get better games.
Significantly improved or not, on my 4k 65 inch Sony TV on the base PS5 it looks spendid and have no intention to upgrade whatsoever.. Even in fps/performance mode. I do have VRR up to 120hz.
PSSR was on. I took some screenshots with it on and off while stationary and at high speeds and the only difference I spot is better aliasing with PSSR, not much else, and not really any downsides
People repeating 700, 700, 700... Ok. Its either 400 or 450 or whatever it is a PS5 BASE costs, or 699 for the pro. The pro also has 2tb of storage, 1tb improvement or even more than the base ( usable ends up being like 1.8) which would be a 75 dollar upgrade to begin with basically. So Lets say you dont have a PS5 at all. You can get a PS5 WITH a storage upgrade for, 500, whatever or for 200 more you get the pro with the upgrade slot still empty to add storage later if you need to. So thats the FIRST thing. Secondly if you are OK having one console, your base PS5 is worth 300+ used. maybe more. And once again, if you have a STORAGE upgrade in it, you can remove it and put it in your pro, you have not lost money there, But again, you factor in the 300, (assuming you let it go DIRT cheap) and what the storage upgrade would cost you and your price difference is under 350..... Anyone whos looking at just this video and trying to decide let me tell you from using the pro.- it feels snappier. Having more options for modes and not having to sacrifice ray tracing in 60fps and knowing MANY games are going to lean on the pros hardware especially in VR - (at this point I would not even bother with VR without the pro, because if youre already OK spending hundreds for VR the 200 dollar difference in the consoles is negligible in the total price compared to experience). I am just saying.... its almost like FUD to keep moaning about 200 bucks... what do you expect to happen? The OG barely got a price cut, if the base machine had gotten 150 in price drops in 4 years and the pro came out at 550 but the price nobody would say anything -but currently is in free fall inflation here- the price of going to mcdonalds has gone up 50% in 5 years, the price of meat went up, the price of everything but things being subsidized or which already had HUGE profit overheads (they ate the increase to maintain volume and not drop production in those cases) went up - You KNOW your money is worth less than it was but you expect a brand new release game console to be the same price as it was before.... I hope everyone here braces for the next generation of consoles, because the two options are going to be- they aim for a 500 dollar pricepoint and the machines are anemic but they dont get the "Sticker shock " or the boxes are going to be 700 bucks-
The pro version, in 'fidelity mode' is notably lower resolution. I can't stand the blockiness/shimmering that they put in place to enable the ray tracing, it really ruins the experience. If better in FPS mode, but barely. You can run in 120hz mode now with a lot less resolution drop.... but that's still massively disappointing compared to what i was expecting from this game.
I wish Sony just release 1 hell of a damn good Console trough the whole generation. PS6 will have everything better than PS5 Pro with 1 thing that makes games run at 30 but with ps6 Pro run at 60.
Without a comparison noone would notice any difference and even with barely any, not including VR ofc but that's even more money to fork out anyway. This isn't £700s worth of improvement imo, better off getting a PS5 as an upgrade from PS4 and buy more games for the same cost of a Pro. The Pro imo is a rip off.
For all of you that don’t have a pro, I’m telling now from uncle c to you lol it’s a huge difference. Once you play and realize how smooth it is on the Pro. Most of you focusing on the graphics, it’s the gameplay that’s a huge difference. PS5 Pro in Performance mode is incredible. It’s not a huge jump in graphics but the gameplay in VR smooth as butter. No way I can play the old choppy version on ps5 that I never realized how bad it was until I played on a Pro. If I was you and you love racing in VR or with a wheel. It’s more than worth it. Like $100 bucks for extra 1T plus another $150 for 120h better game play ? How is it now worth it 😅? It’s literally so much better. I can’t play the og ps5 now it’s super choppy
"No way I can play the old choppy version on ps5 that I never realized how bad it was until I played on a Pro." This literally doesn't exist. A choppy performance mode on the base PS5? Literally doesn't exist. Every single game that has a performance mode runs a perfectly locked in 60fps.
It does, it looked better before the update. This update is crap, it ruined the game imo. Im going back to PS5 version. I can barely notice this improved reflections especially while focusing on racing. while I notice worse resolution and more aliasing immediately. The new update even made the whole picture darker. I had to turn EV in the game to +1 to match the brightness prior the update and it still doesn’t look the same and as nice as before.
Games like this and Spiderman put me on the sold side. Then there’s games like Silent Hill 2 and Jedi Survivor where it puts me on the pass side. Right now Pro is a pass cuz there shouldn’t be any game that look better on base 5
Enjoy your split memory bottleneck & native 900p resolution while 75% of Xbox players own the Series S, so devs end up focusing on the weaker console instead of the Series X 💀
I absolutely dislike this update. It broke the game for me. The picture is way darker than before, especially in HDR and I can barely see any benefits of PS5 Pro compared to before and there is no way to go back to the previous version, so disappointing.

A $400 slim that adds a $150 1tb ssd, a wifi7 upgrade over wifi6 and then you add the graphical advancements and it's priced right at $700.
A PC equivalent is at least a $1000.
You should test the Callisto protocol update! I’d be curious to see what you think of the 8k30 mode vs 4k40 mode
VR is way smoother now (with the projection option), just compare looking out to the side of a fast car.🌌💟
If anything this is just proof that PD knocked it out of the park with GT7 on base PS5. The only reason I'd shell out for the Pro is to address some of those sub-60 fps moments you can get on busy grids in the rain.
Just getting off work...I'm going to check this on my pro tonight...i took the 2tb from old ps5 just for games like this.
Looks fantastic! Bravo!!!
Game has nice gfx so Pro adds RT reflections on gameplay now and PSVR2 got improvement as well.
What's the max resolution in the 120hz performance mode on PS5 Pro? I know on the base PS5, the resolution gets downgraded to 1080p. Is it 1440p on the pro?
I just shifted my chair 1 meter closer, Now I have a PS6
The interior has the most noticeable upgrade
If you have a cheap Tv, stick with the base PS5. I got the Pro and a nice oled and its womderful, but spending $2,200 to upgrade is expensive.
You have to work hard to notice the changes. I still think the base PS5 can be pushed more as GT7 still had to be developed for PS4.
Is the game playable at 4K 120 FPS or even 2K 120 FPS on PS5 Pro with a 144hz screen ?
It was before patch 4k 120fps
@@k1cs1m3a8 Hmmm. Ok so what about now ? Is it playable at 120 FPS ?
Looks almost the same to me on pro max screen. I have to force myself to try to see a tangible difference most of the time.
After re-playing the comparison shots ~50 times over 10 minutes, I... think... I can see a difference?
Not worth it at all and with the price you get closer to pc territory, so skip.
I would never buy a pc only consoles.
What’s the frame rate at 1440p?
But but… Kireth said not to buy a ps5 pro because it’s a downgrade 😢
For a console that cost twice as munch, I can barely tell a difference.
An Xbot kicked me in the face for buying the Pro.
Also did you toggle on pssr?
PSSR was on. I took some screenshots with it on and off while stationary and at high speeds and the only difference I spot is better aliasing with PSSR, not much else, and not really any downsides
Finally real 4k or we Still pretend that 1440p upscaled is 4k?
I don' tunderstand why the PS5 Pro because it is exactly the same graphics than PS5
the point of the PS5 Pro is framerate stability @ high resolutions. THATS IT.
@@spiltcoff33but the framerate is the same at 60fps compared to PS5, so what’s the point ?
@ yes with high fidelity like ray tracing during gameplay, og PS5 can only do that at 30fps. the pro can also play it at 4K120. need me to go on?
@@spiltcoff33 upscaled, so not 4k. internal resolution is under 1080p, and it looks horrible, like you smudged vaseline on your screen
@ lovely bait, playing it right now and it looks BEAUTIFUL on my 77” OLED, cope
I hope everyone here braces for the next generation of consoles, because the two options are going to be- they aim for a 500 dollar pricepoint and the machines are anemic but they dont get the "Sticker shock " or the boxes are going to be 700 bucks-
Forza Motorsport RT looks basic compared to GT7.
Hold off for the ps6 pro instead you know Sony will make one.
😂😂😂
Sony 🍆🍆🍆
You 😮💨😋💦
"No way I can play the old choppy version on ps5 that I never realized how bad it was until I played on a Pro."
This literally doesn't exist. A choppy performance mode on the base PS5? Literally doesn't exist. Every single game that has a performance mode runs a perfectly locked in 60fps.
@@g2jxGhF5G8z1gL7Sthat is the most cap i have ever heard. Have you played games like Dragons dogma 2? Elden Ring? Definitely not locked lmao
@@UnFitGamingDC i see a PlayStation D Rider,
Does AA look worse on PS5 pro or is that just me?
It does, it looked better before the update. This update is crap, it ruined the game imo. Im going back to PS5 version. I can barely notice this improved reflections especially while focusing on racing. while I notice worse resolution and more aliasing immediately. The new update even made the whole picture darker. I had to turn EV in the game to +1 to match the brightness prior the update and it still doesn’t look the same and as nice as before.
@ what a shame. Do you know if this pro mode Is vrr 120hz capable?
@@gster109 Yes it is.
in question about fps, there is a lot of difference to the normal ps5 game
can't see any difference, can somebody explain on what to focus?
Games like this and Spiderman put me on the sold side. Then there’s games like Silent Hill 2 and Jedi Survivor where it puts me on the pass side.
Right now Pro is a pass cuz there shouldn’t be any game that look better on base 5
I’d rather get a Xbox than slight bump in graphics on the same games I’ve been playing for years
lol
Enjoy your split memory bottleneck & native 900p resolution while 75% of Xbox players own the Series S, so devs end up focusing on the weaker console instead of the Series X 💀
Lol
$700 for this? I'd rather stick with my standard PS5, I don't have a money factory, Sony, I won't get fooled this time hahaha
Not significant enough to warrant that cost. But still cool though.
Number 1 or number 2.... Well doc I just I mean well they look the same to me.
the only difference i see is the price
I love PSSR
cause im a real pssr
and i love psswasser
Fun fact : PS5 pro won’t be able to do GTA 6
ok so what about fps?
No difference... Better contrast
I only see more contrast in pro
That's because my brightness/contrast settings got reset after the update. I tried to get as close to my old settings as possible but it isn't perfect
There is any change
The Pro obviously gets drier tracks. It r nut fare!
PS5 and PS5 pro looks the same. It's a scam😂
with some good Weed my PS5 Is A Pro lol its really that simple
Driveclub did it better and with much less power.
im happy with any graphic uptade but this is just a difrent filter bro what the f 😅
“Corporate wants you to find the difference between these pictures”
There the same
It’s worse upgrade then yearly iphone
I absolutely dislike this update. It broke the game for me. The picture is way darker than before, especially in HDR and I can barely see any benefits of PS5 Pro compared to before and there is no way to go back to the previous version, so disappointing.
Go to the video settings in game and scroll all the way down. That’s where you set brightness and contrast. Mine was set to -6 white, 42 black for this video
Thanks for your tip but I cant find this settings. All I got is exposure and saturation.
While it is a slight upgrade,I would still buy a 2TB SSD for 200€ and be happy with my A chassis
it is not differnce
Glasses.
Watch it in real life not on RUclips that cant even show 4k..use you're head
Takking all this shit ps6 is a pro with
Mudou nada, e só lança pssr na versão padrão e pronto
Subtle
useless upgrade
