I can’t say my husband’s first name or both of my children’s first names. I don’t know why and when I have to call and make appointments for them, it’s awful. It’s so embarrassing.

Wow!!! Your speech has greatly improved. I am speechless. So much improvement from a few months ago.
Instead of saying 1992, tell him 8 years before the year 2000. Try it.

@@MinkaLovesPineapples I am so happy that you have improved so much. I am going to narrate a RUclips video using my own voice. I practice reading a book out loud this past week and I never stuttered on a single word!
You should try it sometime, and your confidence will go through the roof.

Hi Minka- I started watching your channel a few months ago cuz even though I don't stutter, when I read anything I tend to sound the words out in my head (essentially I talk to myself as I read) and that slows me down a ton when I read, so I was searching for experiences of people who stutter on youtube cuz I thought perhaps my sounding words out in my head when I read may neurologically be related to stuttering.
Anyway, until I watched your videos, I had no idea how much psychological trauma someone who stutters faces; you really help non-stutterers understand the social difficulties that someone who stutters faces (e.g. the videos "I'll be fluent once, then disfluent", "I feel guilty because I stutter", "Stuttering + Telling Stories, Explaining Things" really help people who don't stutter see things from the vantage point of one who stutters). It's pretty cool how in some videos you don't stutter at all and in others you stutter much more; so there's probably no obvious rhyme or reason to it.
I found the videos related to how communicating with people who don't stutter can annoy you pretty interesting (e.g.
the videos "Things Not to Say to Someone Who Stutters", "Stuttering: Pet Peeves", and "Stuttering + Telling Stories, Explaining Things"
). I'm guilty of furrowing my eyebrows when concentrating intensely, and I tend to try to listen very closely in conversations,
but that's more cuz I'm paranoid of missing a detail that someone says or that they would think I'm not listening, so I try
to listen carefully when someone speaks; I remember in one video you mentioned that you actually prefer if someone is almost
half-listening, half-not listening, and that when they give you their full attention it can be stressful. Do you think you could
make a video on how to teach a non-stutterer to communicate effectively with someone who stutters?

@@MinkaLovesPineapples Noticed you uploaded more videos for us to watch- props on that! Would encourage you to continue vlogging- especially as your son grows up, it'd be quite educational for others to see how stuttering would impact things like talking to his teachers, making friends with his friends' parents, etc. Anyway hope you, your husband, and son are staying virus-free!

My hardest time on the phone is simply announcing a basic HELLO. . so i just substitute the troubled word with slang by saying what's up lol or hey it works for me instead of being embarrassed 😳. So random people may take it as im being rude oh well. Let's talk.

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "how to cure stammering problem at home" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Deyarper Especial Dominance - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to get rid of your stuttering once and for all minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my brother in law got cool success with it.

Hi! I am currently a graduate student in speech-language pathology. For an assignment, we have to interview a person who stutters (PWS) or used to stutter. Our professor encouraged us to message a PWS on youtube if we didn't know someone personally. I was wondering if I could maybe ask you a couple of questions via email? (I can send you a copy of my assignment requirement) Or any other form of DM. If not, it's ok! I totally understand! I know this is so random.
