  • This week @DesignerHomeTours, we take a look at how Portland interior designer Kricken Yaker (Vanillawood) transformed a traditional Portland home into a light and airy sanctuary. The team used a variety of elements, including natural materials, clean lines, and pops of color, to create a space that is both stylish and functional.
Here are some of the key elements of the design:
    - Natural materials: The team used a variety of natural materials throughout the home, including wood, stone, and linen. These materials help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
    - Clean lines: The home features clean lines and minimalist design elements. This helps to create a sense of order and tranquility.
    - Pops of color: The team used pops of color throughout the home to add visual interest. This helps to create a space that is both stylish and playful.
The result is a stunning modern masterpiece that is perfect for a family. The home features a light and airy color palette, dramatic black accents, and a variety of textures throughout. The homeowners love their new space, and it is sure to inspire anyone looking for a modern and stylish home design.

I LOVE this home, I totally get the softness in the design, the lightness, and the texture. I personally am a maximallist, but I TOTALLY appreciate and "get" this home. The materials are well thought out and kept making me want to see the next space. I really like how you brought a lot of interest to this home without the typical gallery walls and oversized art pieces that are so popular and usually overdone in many homes. I can picture the family really enjoying this home. Thanks for the great tips that you gave throughout!

Those textures on the walls remembered me the greatest Frank Lloyd Wright 😍

The video started out very rough with the bizarre grey living room and Walmart coffee table and poufs. Later the pieces improved in quality like the wall rope, the seating, fluid wallpaper, etc but never really high end.
Then almost fell asleep during the video because everything was so boring. As she was talking about the design choices nothing really was awe inspiring and brings no joy or excitement. I love white and black but it was used excessively. The two fireplaces were great examples of how to use black. The standout was the outdoor dining space that was awesome.

Loved the fireplace in the outdoor area! Where can we find the 3D black tiles on the fireplace surround? Thanks!

Lol she seems super stern and not easy going, but glad if others think she/they are fun to work with...

Very disappointing. I subscribed to your channel because you always feature beautiful colorful house, not something like this!
