Would almost be cheaper to but an old 3d printer. I can appreciate all the work involved in making this. I like arcade mode best. It's like the traditional play.
I would recommend simplifying the electronics by using an off-the-shelf RAMPS shield. It already has 4 (or 5) modular stepper drivers, 2 high amperage outputs, an LCD driver, and plenty of spare IO, and they're ubiquitous and very cheap. Whole kits (including the Arduino, shield, motor drivers, and LCD / control panel) are usually under 30.00 USD, and there's no soldering required, lowering the cost and complexity of any kit electronics like this. (yeah I know, it's a 7yr old video, but these were even more common in 2016 too, so...) For the claw mech wires, consider switching to a curled wire (like on some audio cords, or old land line telephones), you can get a 3 or 4 conductor black audio wire today that is very springy and won't droop (the wire guide is still a good idea, but it will look better if it isn't drooping ever).
Haha you need a prize door so you cant steal candy! Also, what if you just dim the leds while not in play so it still glows and looks nice all the time. this is very inspirational. i want to build a full size machine one day :)
That's a very cool build! I want to build my own with the details you provided. But I can't find the bill of materials in the link you posted. Could you share the BOM?
Hello, This was really helpful and interesting to get such a detailed insight!! I can see you have some parts of the machine for sale on your website but not the main motor and leaverage that moves the claw left to right and down, would it be possible to get the blue print or buy this from you? I tried to message you privately via your website but could not get through. Many Thanks, Rosie
Hi , im a mexican student who is building a claw machine for a school project, and i want to tell you that you are doing it so great, your video help us to have an idea about how to make the mechanical and the structure, and i was wondering that if you can send to us a picture or something to see your desing of the things that we had to make on a 3D printer, I wish you see this comment and you can help use, but if you can let me told you that you are doing it amazing
might be a long shot but do you have all the parts from this build still available as i would prefer to build this version over the newer one thankyou, and great videos :)
@RetroBuiltGames oh ok thats fine I'll create something from both the newer build and the older one, thanks for the reply and cant wait to see your next video 😀
Version 4 is amazing and I would be so excited if there was a kickstarter for this.
You are a genius. You materialized everything I imagined. Thank you.
So nice of you
That's amazing, man! Congratulations! I'm thinking about doing something like this at my house just for fun.
Go for it!

totally justified suggestion.
Me: "Hey, let's create a crane game so I can play it everyday!"
Also me at 07:05 : 👁👄👁 "Oh, nevermind"
at that stage in the build it is tedious. It will test your motivation.
I got say: that claw machine is good.
Wow, this is so cool!
I'm crazy wanting this script to learn how to program!
Amazing work!
Love it. I'd buy one.

Dear Ryan,
This is a very cool build. How much would you say this costs without a 3D printer and laser cutter?
- James
The cost is the same (under 300), but it will likely take much longer to build
Cool! Thank you! :)
Ryan Bates where can I get the plans of the wooden parts? can you please send me the link?
I will be selling pre-cut wood parts in the future.
I am not releasing the plans.
That's great! I might buy that actually.
