T2D, I am placing the Sensor 3 towards the inside of my thigh half way up from my knee. Read a trial where that spot was within 1% of the arm location. Wearing a CGM provides me with valuable information about the effects of foods and medications on my BS. Terrific device for lowering A1C.
Please give more sites where you can use the freestyle Libre 3. My both arms can’t be used . The other sites abdomen or thigh seems to be good places . Please let me know if they are also suitable sites for accurate results your patients have been seen using on thigh or abdomen.😊
Dexcom G6 recommended location is the abdomen. I like it there because it is more "in the line of site" of my phone and pump and easier to insert the transmitter. I have very few connection failures with the sensor there. I'm not sure where I will put the G7 in the near future. I don't care for the back of the arm. Hopefully my Endo can give me advice seeing the G7 has now been out for awhile here in the states.
The fda never considered side sleepers. Putting the sensor on the back or outside of the arm would put it under my body. I put it on the inside of my arm in the fleshy area between bicep and tricep. 10 days in and it seems to be working well
In uk if you are a driver you must be over 5 mmol to kegally drive. If you have that reading but your sensor us in any other spot that is not back of arm you can get in serious trouble.
I'm not familiar with the legalities. But having it on the back of the arm is where it's approved for in the US, so it makes sense that they'd mandate that location.
I can reach the back of the arm but it gets knocked off all the time. I didn’t know I could get free replacements were available-I’ve lost probably over a dozen over the 2 years I’ve used it.
I think I want to try my low back. With twin toddlers anything on the front of me gets stomped on or grabbed. Its bad enough having the kids play with it on my arm but im also a side sleeper which also makes the arm a horrible spot.
Thanks so much. I have a hard time reaching the back of my arm but that chest placement seems like a good fit I'm going to try that.

Good idea!
I wear my sensor on the INSIDE of the upper arm. Just as accurate as sites you suggested and well protected and pretty much out of site.
Thanks for posting this!

I liked using the chest location vs back of arm.
That's a popular alternative

Can you explain? There is a legal limit to driving with a certain blood glucose level?
@RR-iq8ze yes in uk your blood glucose must be over 5 mmol to drive.

That is not true statement. You need to read exactly what the DVLA states regarding Group 1 and Group 2 drivers

Gosh, it sounds like a different site would work for you. Maybe a chest placement would stay on better!
So you telling it was on the back of your arm what the hell are they going to know
Is there a question in there?
When asked about the location, just give the correct answer, back of upper arm, no matter where you had it placed.

I hope you find a spot that works!
