First off, generally I avoid strings, life is just too short when there is wood wind and drums to listen to (only my personal preference!) but this video started to play and the piece was good. 4 min in and I am still listening! Great piece Missy and tasty playing Friction, thanks a bunch

I have been enjoying discovering Missy Mazzoli's work. She's among the top tier of young composers that I've encountered. I hope her work continues to be performed and recorded.

Agreed! Some others that I'm following are Mason Bates and Samuel Adams (John's son). I love young composers who find a way to take us new places while building on the past.

Missy Mazzolis Orbiting Spheres is a Masterpiece but here the somewhat enoying minimalistic tendency is to strong. It´s something with that the music is "all the the time is going on" so to speak. Excuse my english !
