Thanks for a very thorough review! Awesome job....as a side note, we are offering ALL the Camplore knives in the Black Oxide finish going forward...we don't have solid dates on the release as well will be selling though existing inventory and those levels vary from model to model...we hope to have some other cool announcements around SHOT show!!
You can't go wrong with any Esse finish. I've never seen one that would have been a "deal breaker" when it came time to buy. Thanks for the opportunity.
I’m absolutely in love with the new finish! I have a Kershaw Launch 1 with their blackwash blade. I really dig the worn look as it makes the blades feel like heirlooms even when they’re new
When I first saw the Junglas 2, I thought it was just kind of gonna be a waste of money. I wondered why you'd want just a scaled down Junglas. But now I'm actually thinking it might be exactly what I have been looking for to finish off my system. If I do end up getting one, I'll definitely make sure to use your Amazon link. I really like helping out my favorite channels whenever I can.
I actually love the black acid wash finish a lot, and I'd definitely like to see it on more knives. The Junglas II is perfect for what I need, next payday it's mine, and I'll be sure to use your links to buy it. Thanks for the video!
LOVE the stonewash much more than the orig black coating; never liked that baked on coating. Thank you for the opportunity to win that awesome cleaver. BE BLESSED
I really like the stone wash finish, and I do wish Esee would offer it in a few more of their knives. A lot of my Schrades have the stone wash finish and I love it.
The new black wash finish is fantastic. Not as much friction as the older bake on finish but still protecting your blade. Not to mention it looks amazing!
i like the black wash on the cleaver. makes it more tactical look but as you use it, the battle scar on the blade will look even better and makes it unique.
I absolutely love the acid wash look of the new coating on that cleaver. I'm always a sucker for that sort of look. And I imagine it would help with reduced cutting friction as well.
The standard black is classy, the black stonewash lends itself nicely to long-term wear but I worry about the rust-resistance of 1095 without total coverage
I agree with acid stonewash on more of their blades. That or a regular stonewash like the camplore line. Prefer it to the traction coating, plus it looks slick.
I like the black stone wash more. I have two other knives that have that rough black coating which i end up taking off anyway and putting a dark patina on
Black stone wash for sure! All of my ESEE’s have had that black baked potato finish. A slicked coating that still protects the 1095 like the black wash is a great compromise. Thanks for the video!
The stonewashed/acid wash is a great improvement over the black baked on finish. I have always loved it on any knife, it helps fight the elements and looks awesome. Great job ESEE!
I love the dark finishes. I think it really helps hiding the blemishes on the blade. Which obviously when you’re using it as a user every day you really don’t care about scratches. I just think the dark finish helps hide those and keeps it looking closer to new for a longer period of time.
Yes, I love the new finish on the cleave. I think it would look really nice on the larger choppers too. But I also like the plain blk finish as well honestly everything Esee is awesome you can't go wrong. Thanks for all that you do and the opportunity to win this amazing knife!
I definitely like the new finish but ive never shy'd away from a good bake on coating, as long as its not too aggressive and get "gunk'd" up when I baton
Black acid wash or finish of this type seem to last longer and are smooth rather than rough resulting in less resistance over coated blades. Add to that the higher grind over most cleavers and I would imagine it cuts more efficiently. Hope I get a chance to see for myself.
I prefer the uncoated finishes to the coated. A coated finish on a tough knife doesn't bother me though. That black oxide finish looks pretty cool, I would like to try it out.
I like that acid wash. I like different blade finishes from raw to satin to backed on black to the stripes and now the acid and stone washes. I like a funky product and especially one that will stand out and catch someones eye.
Really like the acid wash finish, gives the knife more character. Would love to see it on more of their products. Thanks for the great review and opportunity!
I like the black wash, but if its still like a regular acid wash than it won't hold up well compared to other coating options, but I havnt used it yet to know. It does definitely look nice, but longevity is the defining factor
I like the finish on the cleaver. I don't mind the original ESEE finish I always do a light sanding on those blades as soon as I get them. I would probably replace my six if they made one with the stone wash finish. Thanks for the chance.
I like the black wash finish much better than just a plain black coating. If you're gonna have something on the blade it might as well be cool looking as well as functional.
Congrats to Keenan Scott for winner the random giveaway!
Thank you!
Thank you!
gideonstactical this was fixed, he's your brother!! LOL JK congrats to the winner :-)

Love the finish. They should do all there knives in this.
Love the black wash finish, wish the junglas had it
I like the new finish on the ESEE cleaver. Really hope ESEE will continue with it, and that we'll see it on some of their other models.
The black wash looks great!
I have no use for the cleaver but I want 2 of them.
I've seen acid wash on quite a few blades now, and I love it. Just looks so rustic
Absolutely LOVE the finish on the cleaver. Would really like to see it rolled out to the other blades as well. Well done ESEE!
I loke the original baked on black finish on my ESEE 3 & 5. Has held up really well over the last few years and still looks good.
I like the looks and the added protection the black coat gives!!
The stonewash looks awesome. Love it.
Acid wash looks awesome!!
That Black backwash finish is awesome
I love the black coating they have always had on their blades, but that black stonewash is pretty darn cool!
Like the looks of the new finish. Hope it works just as well at keeping rust away
You can't go wrong with any Esse finish. I've never seen one that would have been a "deal breaker" when it came time to buy. Thanks for the opportunity.
I like the finish on this knife, it looks really cool, and it seems like it withstood your tests. That is truly all I want out of a finish
I’m absolutely in love with the new finish! I have a Kershaw Launch 1 with their blackwash blade. I really dig the worn look as it makes the blades feel like heirlooms even when they’re new
I dig the new finish. It looks like it cleans up well. Baked on coatings always look bad after hard use.
Love the black finish. Matches the micarta and gives a more primitive style to the blade.
When I first saw the Junglas 2, I thought it was just kind of gonna be a waste of money. I wondered why you'd want just a scaled down Junglas. Love the new black acid wash finish... offers corrosion resistance without the drag of the bake on finish!
Looks like a great new coating kind of a hybrid between no coating and powder coating so looks great for food prep and fine work
Actually, the "Stone Wash" coating "bleeds" off every time you wipe it down. Terrible thing for food prep...I had to strip mine.
I actually love the black acid wash finish a lot, and I'd definitely like to see it on more knives.
The Junglas II is perfect for what I need, next payday it's mine, and I'll be sure to use your links to buy it. Thanks for the video!
Wow, Junglas II is out of stock everywhere except Amazon and price is now north of $200!! That didn't take long!
Well damn...
They have them on sale at knifeworks.com
I really like the black wash and the clever. Blackscout did a great review on it and I was really impressed with its function.
Love the stone wash. Looks more durable than the original color finishes I’m used to on my old izula knives.
I really like the blackwash finish on the cleaver. I just picked up a Kershaw Link HOB exclusive that has that finish.
The black wash looks nice- but I have always liked the ESEE coating they have used in the past
LOVE the stonewash much more than the orig black coating; never liked that baked on coating. Thank you for the opportunity to win that awesome cleaver. BE BLESSED
I like the black wash finish on the 1095 steel, making it more corrosion resistant. Thanks!
I really like the stone wash finish, and I do wish Esee would offer it in a few more of their knives. A lot of my Schrades have the stone wash finish and I love it.
I always like a regular stonewash finish, but with the darker, almost black stonewash, that looks sick!
I think the Tumbled Black Oxide is great I love the finish, also is a unique thought to the blade style for camp cooking
Totally dig the finish. I have the satin 4 and would have gone with that for sure.
Definitely a fan of the black wash, over the black coating.
The black stone wash looks awesome. I would much prefer it over the black coating. I always end up stripping the black coating off anyway.
The new black wash finish is fantastic. Not as much friction as the older bake on finish but still protecting your blade. Not to mention it looks amazing!
i like the black wash on the cleaver. makes it more tactical look but as you use it, the battle scar on the blade will look even better and makes it unique.
I like the black wash! Though I think I prefer a nice stone wash finish overall. But the black wash is an upgrade over the baked on coating imo.
I absolutely love the acid wash look of the new coating on that cleaver. I'm always a sucker for that sort of look. And I imagine it would help with reduced cutting friction as well.
Love the way the black coating looks on the esee
Absolutely love the new finish...They should do it for all of their knives...I am glad they did it with the CampLore PR4
Wow the new sides can actually make it practical for me living in the semi Urban still area
I'm definitely digging the stonewash finish, adds some character to the blade.
Love the finish. Looking forward to checking out the PR4 with the same finish.
any coating which is not rough and goes smoothly through the wood is a good coating
The standard black is classy, the black stonewash lends itself nicely to long-term wear but I worry about the rust-resistance of 1095 without total coverage
Like the black wash, just wonder the difference in corrosion resistance between the two.
I really like the black finish when new, but will be curious to see it in a couple years. Thanks for the fine review and GAW.
I like the new coating better than the previous baked on coating.
I think the black wash looks great in that knife! Thanks!
The black acid wash is a very cool change, hope all their blades come with it now.
Love the stone wash on the cleaver. If essee did this under the regular coating it would give people some options.
I love the new blackwash. I also like the stonewash on the other Camplore knives. I would love to see an ESEE 6 with the blackwash or stonewash.
I have no complaints about that finish. would love to add it to my collection.
That finish is awesome and like you said they should do it on all of their knives!
Hi! I love Black Stone Wash finish. I think it's more beautiful and durable than the traditional coating. Thanks.
I would love to see that stone wash on my esee 6, love clever and I'm probably going to buy the junglas II
The stonewashed/acid wash is a great improvement over the black baked on finish. I have always loved it on any knife, it helps fight the elements and looks awesome. Great job ESEE!
I've always been a sucker for stone wash knives this hybrid finish on the clever is really impressive though!
I really like the black acid wash and I hope ESSE will continue using it.
That finish is beautiful and if it adds some rust resistance that would be amazing.
I'm usually a fan of shiney blades but i like this black wash way better than the black coating.great vid.
the black wash looks pretty slick , it would be neat if they offered every finish on any blade and you can choose
I like the looks of the blackwash, wonder how well it will hold up in use and moisture
That new black wash is pretty sleek, but I'm still a fan of the powder coat on my Esee 6.
Love the new finish. Hope they put it on more blades soon.
I love the dark finishes. I think it really helps hiding the blemishes on the blade. Which obviously when you’re using it as a user every day you really don’t care about scratches. I just think the dark finish helps hide those and keeps it looking closer to new for a longer period of time.
I like the black stonewashed finish and looks like it'd be a great cleaver for my kayaking/camping/hunting trips!
I like the new finish, it adds character to each knife.
Yes, I love the new finish on the cleave. I think it would look really nice on the larger choppers too.
But I also like the plain blk finish as well honestly everything Esee is awesome you can't go wrong.
Thanks for all that you do and the opportunity to win this amazing knife!
Love the black stone wash deff gives it a new look, a more badass look for the essee
That new blackwash finish looks great. Want to see it on more of their blades. Keep up the great videos!
Love the black stonewash, really wish they´d offer it on more of their knives.
I like the acid wash more than the traditional coating.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Love your work!
Love the black wash finish wish all of my knives had this finish. Hope esse puts on all their knives from here on out or at least make it an option
I like that the knifes finish makes it look 100 years old. Very cool!
Stonewashed coating is my favorite. That acid etch/stone wash is pretty nice too. Traction coatings aren't my thing.
I like the stone wash finish and would like to see it as an offering in other current model's.
Love the looks of the one reviewed. It seems like it also took some abuse and should hold up pretty well. Keep the great videos coming.
I prefer the uncoated finishes to the coated. A coated finish on a tough knife doesn't bother me though. That black oxide finish looks pretty cool, I would like to try it out.
The finish is cool, as it doesn't increase resistance in the cutting media it'll be great.
Really like the look of the new black acid wash and the junglas II looks like a beast of a knife!
That black acid wash looks awesome. Would love to learn how to do that to my own blades.
I like the black wash, but if its still like a regular acid wash than it won't hold up well compared to other coating options, but I havnt used it yet to know. It does definitely look nice, but longevity is the defining factor
I think the acid wash looks nice. I have the original junglas and have been very impressed with the durability of the finish.
Steel Will Roamers come out mid October. Can't wait for the reviews.
I would like to see the black wash as an option for all the ESEE products. I like it better than the present coating.
I like the finish on the cleaver. I don't mind the original ESEE finish I always do a light sanding on those blades as soon as I get them. I would probably replace my six if they made one with the stone wash finish. Thanks for the chance.
love the black wash finish on the cleaver !, i have 3 junglas's and a total of 9 esee knives and would love a cleaver in the collection
Huge fan of the stonewashed blade. I hope that is expanded in their products.
I like the black wash finish much better than just a plain black coating. If you're gonna have something on the blade it might as well be cool looking as well as functional.
