We had a Border Collie; two seconds in the snow was enough for her to get ice balls stuck in between her toes. This dog would come home from the park with huge ice balls stuck in her fur along the back of her legs and along her belly, poor girl. The only thing that worked for her was using the hair clippers and shaving the fur out from between her toes. She didn't spend huge amounts of time outside in the cold, so her feet didn't suffer from a lack of fur; I don't know if this would cause Chase's feet to freeze or not. As for booties, our Shepherd mix liked to loose them. One year I concocted a harness from heavy-duty rubber bands (Ranger bands) and thick yarn that attached to his collar. The Ranger bands allowed the harness to flex with his movements, while the yarn prevented him from losing the booties (though he still kicked them off at times). Kinda like a dummy-string for dog booties. As an added bonus, the Ranger bands added resistance which helped tire him out.
What a beautiful dog, he clearly loves you, came across this on reddit r/bicycling, a mate of your's recommended your videos, am like minded, am ex-soldier, have my own dog that came to me 12 months ago, he has also helped me immensely. He and I tour by bicycle thru-out OZ. Dogs give to you for free, their is nothing like that companionship anywhere else. Will keep watching. Cheers!
Awesome that you are aware of your Pups paws in the snow, we use a product called "Mushers Secret", it was designed for and used on the paws of mushing dogs to protect them from ice and snow build up , it may help Chase . It actually work for other conditions as well, helps keep their paws moisturized( we live in AZ)
Thanks! I have some and I have used it, but it doesn't seem to work with his hair. We even made a home-made concoction out of avacado oil and bee's wax - it didn't work either.
Haha - I've bought three different pairs - he manages to fling them off and they go sailing off into the deep snow - which leaves me rooting around in deep snow looking for his boot.
Nice looking dog and cool bike
you clean his paws while he cleans your paws. Awesome duo!
Love this! Thanks for rescuing :-)

Would your dog wear snow shoes?
