Important note: Turn off 'Learn' once they're max level and you're happy with their play style. They *will* still learn when they fight, but they just won't copy your play style if you happen to use a different character.

True but the hard dk method has some flaws. We see in the training video doing stuff such as very delayed smash attacks and such at 50. Only petering and ironing out after some locals with other players. Granted the amiibo becomes very versatile in various game modes when given that training during the impressionable phase.
1v1 dittos do require character knowledgeableble. However, it allows you to get much more intimate with the programming. That's how I taught my rob to be angry and trigger happy with nair and even to wait and react.

My Ryu raid boss is pretty strong. I gave it the Instadrop trait, which allows it to do insane combos where it insta drops rapidly across the stage, and does an aerial after each instadrop. At the end of the combo it usually uses Ryu’s ability to cancel aerials into specials to end it with a shoryuken, making a devastating zero-to-death.

I know a common problem amiibo have is being unsure how to handle a shield break.

Unless you turn off Learning. I did that because I wanted to lock in the Entertainer nature on my Pikachu amiibo.

    • @denzterwastaken
      @denzterwastaken 2 года назад +2

The nature of the amiibo doesn't change. The reason you turn learning off is because you don't want your amiibo to pick up any bad habbits. Amiibos will use a move more when they hit an opponent with it. So let's say I own a King Dedede Amiibo. I teach it fighting but don't turn learning off. At some point in it's life, the amiibo will land an F-smash(for example), and when it does, it'll think it's a good move because it landed a hit and will start to F-smash more. King Dedede's F-smash is very slow and because of that it's not a good move to use. That would slowly ruin your amiibo and that's why you turn learning off. By doing that it'll use the moves you taught it and those moves won't change. It won't pick up on the F-smash. Hope I cleared that up. If you have any questions, By all means, Feel free to ask. I'll be here.

  • @Parapsyche
    @Parapsyche 4 года назад +15

I've been in the lab on my own accord, actually BEFORE I discovered this channel and series, LOL, and I have trained the eight amiibo I own - Sonic (Emerl), Lucario (Sky), Mewtwo (Melissa), Peach (Lusamine), PAC-MAN (THWACK-MAN), Pikachu (Cheren), R.O.B. (Metallix), and Dedede (Big D) - into absolute monsters. While this video is largely spot-on, I do have some feedback of my own in my experience, make of it what you will.
-I play on FD/Omega stages with the same character up until the amiibo is level 20 - change the stage to whatever you like (or random) up until level 30, then go back to FD and use different characters, usually the same one for two matches before switching to another. Change the stages again once the amiibo reaches level 45, and then at level 50 finally go back to FD and do dittos again.
-The spirits you feed the amiibo will more often than not make subtle changes to their personality and playstyle, so I ALWAYS go back to the FD dittos after feeding them, with learning on. Continue to fight and teach them again until you are satisfied with their playstyle, then turn learning off. If you ever need to change their spirit build, turn learning back on and repeat the process.
-If you notice any bad habits your amiibo has - for example, spamming only one move you don't want them to, or not using projectiles, or not knowing what to do to punish a shield break - turn learning back on and work with them until they break the habit and become everything you want them to be. Be sure to pay attention to what they're NOT doing as well as what they ARE; it's easier to see when they're fighting someone else or another amiibo. This was how I realized (and fixed) Metallix was doing way too much nair and not enough specials, and Big D would always poorly aim and cut off his recovery.
-The personalities are general summaries of how they behave rather than a category - while it doesn't hurt to look up the personality and know what it entails, largely as long as your amiibo behaves the way you want them to, it doesn't matter. As said in the video, Aggressive is usually the best one, but that doesn't mean if it's not Aggressive it's bad.
-Amiibo AI transferred from Smash 4 to Ultimate will often have lots of trouble adjusting to the new mechanics of the game as well as their different stats and moves, so starting from scratch is often better than adjusting what's already there.
Thanks for reading this far! If you have any other questions about training a raid boss amiibo that you want answered, or you want to fight my own amiibo, just leave a reply and I'll get back to you.

    • @Parapsyche
      @Parapsyche 4 года назад +2

@@tylermackie8900 It'll adapt to opponents when fighting them, yes - like, if you spam f-smash, they're gonna pick up on that and go around it - but what turning learning on does is it allows the amiibo to pick up on the tactics it sees with you and use them as its own.

To be fair to him, Kirby’s one of the most difficult Amiibo to train, just because his AI is so weird.
If you use up-B one time for anything other than recovery, the Amiibo’s going to start spamming it like there’s no tomorrow, and it’s downright impossible to teach it to use inhale.
Not saying I don’t want one, but Kirby is downright infuriating when you try to train him.

Question: My method in training AMiibo back in Sm4sh days was to"
    - have the amiibo face their LV 9 counter-part until they are LV 11
    - play their character and use as much combos and metor smash until LV 21
    - do a 1 v 1 with a ground character once, then do a 4 player free for all twice
    - Repeat Step 3 with aerial characters
    - Repeat Step 3 with heavyweight
    - Free for all with a grounded, aerial and a heavyweight
    - Use your main against the amiibo.
    - Whatever level is left over, have a friend who is a pro face it until it is LV 50.
    - Make sure the amiibo always loses in these battles
-Once they are maxed, applied modifications
When doing that, I find the amiibos to be very tough in the end. However, in Ultimate, I find that the amiibos level up very quickly and I find the amiibo likes to jump a lot, which doen't help with making it stronger. Seeing your video, I wonder whats your opioin on having the amiibo face other character while it is leveling up vs having them face them at Max Level... and if so, is there a way to merge the two training ideas?

Thank you so much for this little helpful guide. I recently picked up my new Joker amiibo on the 6th of October a few days after its release on the 2nd and holy crap this amiibo is a monster. Doc, my Joker amiibo, named after the Lone Dinosaur from the Land Before Time movies and TV show, has the Aggressive personality and man, he is vicious on the battlefield. He LOVES doing his Meteor Smashes when opponents are on the ground and aren't on anything. I just witnessed this bad boy do another Meteor Smash at Castle Siege and Arena Ferox's Omega forms and I'm very happy with that. He sometimes goes crazy with them on Palutena's Temple. I already have him up to Level 50 and he pretty much whooped my tail when I faced off against him as my old main, Yoshi at Palutena's Temple today. He DODGED my Final Smash effortlessly and then turned the tables on me, triggering his All-Out Attack seconds after mine had missed him. I created a MONSTER.
PS: I think I even turned Doc into a literal Raid Boss Amiibo because he is now very difficult to defeat. Thanks to this little video, I was greatly inspired to make Doc into my own little Raid Boss after seeing how Pumpkin destroyed numerous opponents in Pumpkin vs. Big Z, Pumpkin vs. King Succ and Raid Boss Charizard: Pumpkin Returns.

An amiibo with no support spirits can have a stat total of 5,000 or 4,200 with three support spirits. You're gonna want his stats heavily favored to the attack stat so around 3.2k atk or higher and 1k def or lower. Have a physical attack support spirit and a shield dam support spirit. With that shields will be like soap bubbles to your ganon. That also leaves you one additional slot for a support spirit. Speed is a good one but you can do whatever you want for the last slot

How to make a raid BOSS fight ( meaning like a real in game boss fight. ) 1 Make sure your amiibo has super armor ( optional if it will play in a stamina environment I recommend stamina boosting spirits )and balanced stats. 2 must be level 50 is a 3v1 environment. 3 teach it like how he mentioned in the video. 4 teach it how to have taunt party’s ( or just taunt randomly in a row ) so that fighters trying to take it down have a chance of damaging it for a little while ( like for example master hand boss fight where after he takes a certain amount of damage he falls down. ) 5 make it learn fake outs ( immediately use a side down or up smash after a certain taunt. ) the end hope this helps to make a raid BOSS fight

Before I watched this video, I created a Corrin Amiibo that I named, "Cyanide". And that I deemed was a Final Boss amiibo.
The spirits I used were some of the best, increasing their stats INSANELY, and increasing certain moved. No auto-heal or super armor was used, not like it MATTERED.
This corrin amiibo took on 3 random level 9 cpus and came out VICTORIOUS, constantly.
Even against other amiibos, it still won in the 1v1 matches I gave.
The ONLY thing that stopped it was turning on Final Smash and using some OP spirits.
How would it fair online? Idk, but I WON'T unleash a being of darkness like that one on it.

I just want to point out, if your Amiibo is maxed out, and still struggling, you should pit them against a lvl 9 CPU as the character they struggle with so then you can prove they can defeat it. If they have been defeated (like my Raid Boss Ken) again by it, lower it by one or two, once they've got the hang of it, try pitting it against characters that have special inputs so they know how to see it coming. ("Learn" must be on other wise, they'll forget early battle)

My way of training Amiibo right below:
    1. Feed Spirits that match the Amiibo you selected.
    2. Do one battle of every single level of CPU in order with the character that the Amiibo you selected was.
    3. Do the same thing as step 1 with a different fighter so that the Amiibo recognizes different matchups.
    4. Try to more fights with you in it, one as the fighter, and as a different fighter.
    5. Turn learning off.
They're better than you probably think.

Hey chocto (hope I can call you that...)
I just wanted to say thank you for getting me through some stuff in my life. You never fail to make me smile with dumb jokes and somewhat outdated memes. I’ve started training my own raid bosses after watching your guide, which made cloud nearly unstoppable (seriously, the guy got over 100 K.O’s against online amiibo) its giving me a self esteem boost seeing hard work paying off. I know you will most likely never read this, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
    Garren

I said this before, but thanks for showing me the true power of amiibos and inspiring me to train my own. I've got 6 right now and I'm thinking of making a Battle Arena to see how they fare against the rest of the world. My strongest one at the moment is my Bowser, which is no suprise considering he's my main. However, I've also got a Ridley who does a lot of stylish edgeguards and techs, and my new Incineroar is looking pretty promising.
I'm hyped for that Raid Boss invitational. Thanks for the tips, and keep it up - you're doing God's work. (Well, if God wishes for the death of mankind at the hands of AI)

Came to this video after buying my first amiibo. Didn't arrive yet.
It's a Byleth amiibo. Thought about making it just fast as possible. The trick is that Byleth is a slow fighter so how much of a difference being fast will do is in question. I can have it with super armor but I also want it to rush in and strike hard. The kind of amiibo that will KO at 30% but it can also be done to it. A glass cannon fast Byleth.

I made a strong Piranha Plant amibo in one day, it trained against both me and another person on the same team, so it dominates 1v1s and 1v2s against decently skilled players, and 80% of online amibo battles. It wasn't too much stronger than most amibos, but only lost because of an unfair stage where it was cornered by a down airing bowser amibo, and a nearly equal yet brokem K rule amibo. He was called a raid boss on a twitch stream so I came here to see what that meant.
    His name is Weed Eater.

I've trained a few myself and something i recommend is showing the amiibo all the cheese kills like ganon side cheese.

Neil Hans Richmond also if it’s a pichu amiibo put it against a level 9 cpu pichu the amiibo needs to be level 50 so it knows how to fight and it will act like a level 9 cpu pichu but more aggressive it’s good because of how much combos pichu level 9 cpu does it makes your amiibo rlly know how to pressure the enemy

@@funni_noises That sounds so toxic and I don't know how I didn't do that. Thankyou.

Also just gave my pichu some spirits now he hits like a truck but now he just jumps and Neutral air and back or forward over n over then out of no were it attacks plus it dodged a lot so don’t put them with a level 9 cpus over n over too much
