    Melodic Death Metal doesn't (usually) have the same type of breakdowns you're used to from, for example, Deathcore. But like you said, it's got a vibe all its own - definitely my favorite genre of metal, and these guys are among the best in that genre. Glad to see you checking them out.

    • @ar3alz3ro
      @ar3alz3ro 6 месяцев назад

      Well said. Although, the tempo of the verse in this song is very breakdown-like in and of itself. Satisfying melodic metalcore fans like myself 😊

    They truly are metal legends, have been around since early 90s. As someone else said, if you like this should go way back and check out Only for the Weak and Take This Life. They are so fire! If you are looking for something really heavy by them, their first 3 albums are crazy heavy. They switched to the more melodic metal with their 5th album that has Only for the Weak. The song Jester Script Transfigured will blow your face off!

    • @RunninWithMos
      @RunninWithMos 10 месяцев назад +1

      Umm you forgot about Lunar Strain, their 1st album. Their 2nd and 3rd were The Jester Race and Whoracle, which were crazy melodic and had more harmonies than the other ones. I would even say that they were more melodic 25 years ago, but people hear screams and assume it's heavier, cause they miss out on crazy harmonies in the background. For me they fell off once Anders started singing. He had one of the best vocals in metal, but he went the singing route(not to mention he can't sing irl). Screams and occasional "talking" worked the best imo. Also Only for the Weak was on their 5th, not 3rd album 😅 I agree with your last sentence tho. Great song from probably their best album.

    • @The_Original_Syn
      @The_Original_Syn 10 месяцев назад

      @@RunninWithMos ty for the fact check, I had mentioned a song from Whoracle, so it threw off my info, as that's the 3rd album. But idk why you say I forgot the first album bc I said the first few albums are very heavy, therfore that would be included lol

    • @RunninWithMos
      @RunninWithMos 10 месяцев назад

      @@The_Original_Syn I assumed you meant only The Jester Race and Whoracle, since you listed Clayman as 3rd and it was a switch up for more melodic in your opinion, so that would suggest that only those 2 were heavy. So I thought you didn't know of Lunar Strain and maybe thought Colony was after Clayman. Lunar Strain wasn't Anders era, so many ppl don't include it or even don't know that it exists. That "3rd" instead of "5th" threw me off. My bad for assuming 😅I myself didn't care for anything they've released after ASOP. Not having Jesper really affected their style and they became very generic. Good thing The Halo Effect is will release their 2nd album in near future.

    • @The_Original_Syn
      @The_Original_Syn 10 месяцев назад

      @RunninWithMos No, I just mistyped while having 2 thoughts lol. I actually haven't listened to them for many years until this album. I'm much more familiar with the first probably half of their career. But I honestly do really like this newer song personally.

    • @RunninWithMos
      @RunninWithMos 10 месяцев назад

      @@The_Original_Syn Don't worry, it happens to all of us haha. Sometimes I mixup my thoughts aswell. Also I'd say the 1st half of their discography is Melodeath and the 2nd is generic metalcore. I had really high hopes while waiting for Foregone, but I was kinda disappointed. I enjoyed guitar harmonies and drums, but Anders have to stop forcing cleans everywhere. This track has catchy, but at the same time very weak chorus(vocally and lyrically). Instruments carried Foregone up to B- for me. I moved on from this album after a week and went back to listening to older stuff. They're on the right path tho.... just drop those cleans and the next one might be 🔥

      Very underrated album. I wouldn't place it above TJR, Whoracle, Colony or Clayman, but I'd give it 5th place and a solid A-. It was on constant repeat for a pretty long time when it released. I even listened to it like 3 days ago.

    In Flames has been around for quite some time, so you should definitely check out their older stuff. Can at least recommend: trigger, Come Clarity, Cloud Connected, Only for the weak, My sweet shadow, Take this Life and Alias. In my opinion they have one of the most unique music style, but I'm a bit biased because they are one of the bands that got me into metal when I was young and most times I recognize their music within 5 seconds of hearing a song :) Keep up the reactions, loved it!
