I bought Bob James' album "Bob James Three" that this song originally appeared on many, many years ago. Great song. I recognize the names of Senri, Miho and Harumo from the Jazz Avengers and their many collaborations with bassist Juna Serita.
I know that Bob James has been making great music for about 70 years or so, but to me it felt like he had some extra "something" here that I hadn't noticed in his recorded work. Same with Lee Ritenour. I like to think that this amazing orchestra gets the fantastic guest artists to go even beyond their already great level. I'm not especially knowledgeable about the musicians in Japan, but the more I learn… well, let's just say the words "All-Star" just scratch the surface…

Fine solo by Miho Terachi & nice work on the flute. She coming into her own, full flower. Another of the fine talents in Japan. Also, good to see Harumo Imai with the saxophone section.
