In one of the houses there’s an old couple who lament either their son or grandson (can’t remember) and how he was always good with machines and left home a long time ago. It’s never outright stated to be him but it’s heavily implied. So that’s the lighthouse connection

I wrote a short analysis about Cyrus's appearance in that event and posted it on the Pokemon Amino. I'll put it here: (I should be asleep but I analyzed the 5 sentences Cyrus says in his surprise appearance in the Pokémon Masters Christmas 2022 event instead.) With Volkner and Jasmine appearing in the Christmas event, it makes sense Cyrus would appear, because of their connections to Sunyshore City. However, Cyrus's appearance is quite random and feels like a cameo. However, there's a lot more about this "cameo" than you probably think. Cyrus grew up in Sunyshore City, which is famous for its lighthouse. He references the lighthouse in his appearance, comparing the light used to guide sailors to their destination to a light down the right path. However, he says that he and the Team Galactic Commanders do not need a "light," and will instead make their own path to become better people. This is quite interesting, to be honest. I assume the reason he does not want to follow a "light down the right path" is because of his upbringing. It makes sense that Cyrus would want no connection to his childhood, given the fact he was abused and neglected. He even seems... rather melancholic when talking about the lighthouse. So why did Cyrus appear in the Christmas event? Why did he make a random cameo? This cameo also feels... important, like the story writers wanted us to have insight on Cyrus's backstory and/or redemption. But why is this all important? I don't know. The story writers certainly want us to keep him in mind, because you never stick a random character in a plot that isn't about them and give them significance for no reason. Heck, his quotes were even in the trailer for the event. If that isn't significant, I don't know what is. They're definitely planning something for Cyrus. Maybe it'll be an appearance in the Scarlet and Violet DLC? Or a new game? Perhaps a new series? Only time will tell.
I can lie, this was one lesson I learned the same way. About the hisui mons in pmex The dev letter did say trainers from a new region will appear soon Galar characters took about 1 year to appear in the game and considering its gonna be about 1 year since PLA release its possible we might see them for January units or even new year units
Masters, give us and time distortion event! Besides having the characters and extinct Pokémon from Legends Arceus show up it’d be the best opportunity to de-age some characters and give us younger versions of Caitlin, Cheren, and Bianca. And speaking of characters who’ve aged I’m still hoping for Anabel.
Feel like if they introduce Scarlet and Violet characters starting in Summer, some of them make be good choices. Like how the year after Crown Tundra released, that’s when I did Leon and Calyrex.
