maybe they had other cars in the garage? gotta think outside the box sir.
@@AC-jg7uw at that point it's time to upgrade to a bigger house with more garage space preferably in a gated community. One does not buy an expensive Escalade just to park it outside in a sketchy neighborhood.
yea, i bought ones of these "boxes" off amazon, IT did NOT work, i put it in the box, closed the box, walked to my car and the car unlocked. if y'all get these boxes, test them out, i got another one that works now.
New technology hahaha hahaha internet also shows how to open electronic safe with a magnet LOL
Question is, what happens when the their makes a getaway, then turns the car off? How do they get it to restart? Takes the same keyfob to enable the start mode.
technology is amazing. watch out and always have an eye out for people around you.
Sue the manufacturer.
i don't even have a car yet a key fob type car and yet i know this that the key fob is always transmitting signal and needs to be put in a magnet case where the signal gets blocked. So how is it people who owns these cars are oblivious to this crime
I have a 30 year old Toyota and I live in a small town with no crime. ha ha ha ha.
I'm never going to even go to Miami. lol
Where can I get one of these box for my 2002 Ford Focus?
Lol!🤣🤣
That's why I got rid of my key fob. I use an actual key.
I didn't have a problem with a key fob on my 1949 international pickup truck. A hidden kill switch helps, key fob or not.
I drive an ESCALADE, it got broken into a month after i bought, now im strapped and have a CWP and a shovel. Im ready this time!!
So all we need is a $6 jewelry box from TJ Maxx to keep our cars safe? Bet
Teslas gonna be driving themselves out of your drive way soon lol
Someone needs to invent key fob protector of some sort
this one time at the gas station my accord wouldnt start and these dudes kept looking at me so i got a bad feeling and just stayed in the car until they were gone. my car started again once they left, this has been around for at least 8 years
Time to dust off the club 😂
You can stop, the key fob from transmitting. For my 2022 RAV4 just hold the lock button while pressing the unlock button twice and wait for the lights to stop flashing. then press any button to start the fob back to transmitting. This works for my model you will have to check your model or reserch if yours can also be stopped.
I bought pouches on Amazon that are lined with material that the RFID signal from the fob will not go through, and I keep the keys in them all the time including the cars that are in the garage.
This been happened for years in UK and now it’s here
This is why people with GARAGES should park the cars in them! They have everything in the garage, BUT the freaking car!
So now your blaming the car owner? So what if this was done in a public place, would you still say he should have parked hid car in a garage? How convenient would that be?
I an curious on what they plan to do with the suv? Strip it down?
OMG.. THAT'S HOW THEY STOLE MINES UP HERE IN TAMPA. BUT I HAVE A BUILT IN GPS AND FOUND MY CAR 8HRS LATER. THEY STOLE IT AT 2;00AM AND I FOUND IT AROUND 10:30AM WHEN I WOKE UP.. DAM HUMANS.
Disconnect fuel pump and fuses with kill plug kill kit. The vehicle wont go anywhere they work great the local guy makes them they are awesome. Once the plug is out the vehicle is useless cost up 3000 but worth it all custom made. It also renders the fuzes useless when disconnected.
When technology goes too far , when technology helps criminals bend you over !! Glorious technology
I hope he's able to find them in Publix one day! 🤷♂️
I keep my car inside a large Faraday box, aka the garage.
Whats the Publix store. This from Australia?
U gotta steal my ride the old fashion way i keep them old school rides💯
Even harder with a kill switch. Better bring a flat bed cause that's the only way you will get any one of the 3 wich have disconnected nrg steering wheels. Good luck😂and the air bags, when dropped to the ground, you can't even access catalytic converter.
These devices can be built using off the shelf parts and a laptop.
The hard part is finding someone who understands and can write the code to make it work.
Wow this is crazy
May God Bless America 🙏🇺🇸
Just get a Tesla. You can enable a pin code to further prevent a man-in-the-middle attack like this. And even if it's stolen you can easily monitor and see where the Tesla is with realtime gps on the app.
Not going to lie. They're pretty smart. 👏👏👏
People that have garages but don’t park their cars in them.
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Easily preventable by keeping your fobs in a faraday cage at any time you're not operating the car. I have one small faraday cage pouch for the fob. Problem solved.
You pay more for a security flay being built into your vehicle.
I don't understand why people turn off their camera notifications at night, it's more common than you would think.
It’s because they end up getting annoying by it. I can understand stand it. Getting woken up every couple hours when a car or a bug walks across it.
So they can't make it can't make the actual key fob stop transmission like Power off or Toggle switch
I was coming out of the supermarket and before I could pull out the keys to unlock my car, a guy in front of me used his fob. Both his and my car unlocked. We both looked at each other like "wtf just happened?" We both have KIAs so maybe it's a KIA thing. I'm getting the locks changed this weekend--and no more fobs until they make them more secure.
One day, my aunt had permission to use a co-worker's car during lunch. She went to the parking lot and unlocked the car and got inside. The key would not start the ignition though, and she realized she was in the wrong car. She found out later that many times a key will work for more than one car.
My aunt was not in a KIA, by the way. So your experience is unfortunately not an isolated incident.
Aluminum foil will block signals too, so find a small box around the house and wrap The inside and outside with aluminum. A good way to test it is to use some form of location tracking for your phone or put your internet router in it and see if you get signal.
Good!!! Let the good time roll!!!
And there also using wifi cell jammers to stop wireless cameras and breaking into homes happened to me last week
Mercedes "fixed" this, key has motion sensor, if there is no motion there is no signal even if key is inside vehicle it wont start. This is for some 2020 and most 2021 and newer
{eye'm} thinking along the lines of a manufacture defect in need of a recall due to the fact all vehicles have Anti-Theft system why would it not b on the manufacture design of faulty product definitely a cause of concern
Dealership: "So you are coming in to buy another car right? .. Dont worry we will get on that key fob issue asap.. In the meantime say hello to alex our new sales guy"
thats why i love AUDI A4 B9,
Wait! Wait! Wait! What happened to the little magnet thingy? I had a friend who had a Tahoe (possibly early 2000's) where she would turn the ignition on, press the thingy (on the key ring) to an area near the key switch and then the truck would start. I believe it was an OEM theft deterrent device that came with the keys. Did they not work well?
It has to do with corrupt employees. They give the technology to criminals and they get a cut.
I rather a real key at this point
Nobody wants my hoopty🤣
The automotive manufacturers are very much aware of what is going on with the criminals of today. It is a cat an mouse effect. Time and place play a factor in everything. It will never end I'm sure...
Damn sure samething with the tires and rings and the windows.
Here in NYC we are sick n tired of this
Florida has such high crime! Sheesh
I've got an Idea .. ready ... " put an On 'Off switch on the Key Fob "
Some key fobs can be turned off and turned back on. There was another video not long ago showing how to turn off the key fob to Toyotas.
Sadly, there is a lot of stupid tech-bloat for the lazy, braindead idiocracy in newer cars these days.
They work for car dealerships
I cover my keys with tin foil every night but now ill definitely buy that box
I went in Amazon there is pouches and box that they sell to block signal for key fob I purchased one now just got to test it out
