@@buckeyetillidie27 First off, if both were coming off their rookie years, I could understand Baker being ahead, he had arguably a more impressive rookie year as far as passing statistics go. But, again, thats not the case, your comment is actually why Mayfield should be lower, hes no longer a rookie and while he also has much to proven, when taking BOTH of his seasons into account, what he has "proved" is quite lack luster compared to what Murray has proven. Further, if we're going to compare statistics, you can't discount Kylers 4 rushing touch downs, putting his total TDs for the year at 24. He also finished with 64.4% completion percentage despite having one of the most under whelming recieving cores in the league to throw to Bakers 63.8 in his rookie season, and only 12 picks to Baker's rookie 14. His total yards including rushing were 4266 to Bakers 3856. And he only had 5 fumbles to Bakers 7, and lost only 2 to Bakers 3. And thats comparing them in the MOST favorable way possible, using ONLY bakers rookie season. If we uses Bakers averages based on his full 2 year career to this point, things shift DRAMATICALLY in Kylers favor. Which, again, is my point. You could still argue that despite everything I brought up, Baker had a better rookie year. I think thats debateable, but it is a reasonable evaluation. But unlike Kyler, Mayfield DID have a second year, and it was bad. You can't just ignore that second year, to fairly evaluate the two you'd need to use Bakers averages, and when you do that, its not even a debate, Kyler wins hands down. Both are young enough that one, both, or neither could end up being stars in this league, but all we can evaluate to this point are their existing bodies of work, and on that basis Baker's 2019 must negate whatever slight edge he might have had over kyler based purely on his rookie season. Unrelated aside, I was born and grew up until I was 13 in Cleveland, then moved to Arizona where I spent the majority of my life. I live in neither place now, but the Browns and Cardinals are the two teams I follow and root for. So I while I might have a bias for Murray, I don't have a bias against Baker, rather, I have a Bias for him too. I've watched both play every week and like them both. But if I'm being honest with myself, because of Bakers 2019, as of right now, Murray has had a better career and I don't even think its that close.
@@DanTheMeek yea i understand but at the same time Mayfield didnt even play his full rookie season. Look at the crap coach he had his 2nd year not to mention the horrible o-line he had both years. They both have ALOT to prove but as far as ranking them Mayfield is better. And you cant say Murray is better after just 1 season. After 1 season Mayfield was the best rookie QB in years. Not to mention he did that with the browns. Murray could also have a sophomore slump this year. Not saying he will but it is very possible. So like i said if you wanna just talk 1 season then lets only compare the rookie campaigns for the 2
@@buckeyetillidie27 Again, if this list was "best rookie seasons" then I would agree, lets only compare the rookie campaigns. But thats not what this list is, it supposedly takes into account the entire body of work to this point. If Baker had had 2 great season, that WOULD be better then Murrays 1 great season, even if you thought Murrays 1 great season was a little better then either or both of Bakers. But thats NOT what happened, Baker's second season was a disaster. Could Baker turn his career around after this year? Sure, he could also regress even more. Could Murray have a sophmore slump? Sure, he could also improve. Because the future is unwritten, we can only speak to what has already happened. Murray has had ZERO bad season to date. Baker has had 1. Murray has had 1 good season. Baker has had 1. based on that body of work, Baker is currently behind Murray. The future may change that, but we can only speculate about the future. Also, the fact Baker didn't play a full season makes his higher amount of INTs and higher number of fumbles in his rookie season all the more concerning. Even compared to Bakers one good season, and even with Murray running the ball quite a bit, Murray did a much better job of protecting the ball, that can't be discounted. Also of note, the season Murray took over the Cardinals were coming off a year when they not only crushed the browns in how bad their OL was (it was historically bad the year prior), but probably the one player they signed in the offseason who was a meaningful upgrade, Marcus Gilbert, got injured for the year prior to game 1, so its arguable that Murray had an even worse OL then Baker, he just used his legs to make that OL look much better then it had looked when it had a more Baker like QB behind center the year prior. Also also of note, yes Baker took over a browns club that was the worst in the league the year prior... but so did Kyler, thats why both teams took their QBs first overall. Again, I like Baker, what he did in his rookie season was electric, I'm not ready to give up on him after one bad season like many people are, I'll be rooting for him like crazy this year, but just based on their current bodies of work, Murray's body of work is straight up superior. We can't evaluate what Murray's second year might be because it hasn't happened yet, but we MUST evaluate Mayfields because it HAS happened, and in that year he was vastly inferior to either players rookie season. Or in math terms: 1 = 1 But 1 -1 != 1
Admits that Carr had little support and won a Superbowl.. but also ranks him second to last 🤔.. also Murray is unproven, so idk how you can rank him in front of Winston.. who speaking of which I think Winston will redeem himself later in his career. He'll move up on this list.

Wow. Only one of these players MIGHT make the hall of fame in Eli Manning. You heard it hear first the number one pick is a joke outside of the goat Peyton Manning. Keep in mind there is still a lot of time for the younger guys to develop but it isnt looking to good. There have been consistent starters and winners but not too many rings. If i was a gm, i would definetely trade down and let a desperate team give me the farm.
p49512 yeah fr. Seems like a lot of these number 1 overall picks have been bombarded with injuries that essentially wrecked their careers. And these are players that weren’t really injured in college
Ryan Smith honestly though I think the reason is that the team with the first pick is the worst Team. I guarantee you if baker mayfield was on the patriots right now he would be a star. It’s sad and the first round picks in every sport under preform (besides the obvious ones like lebron and Kobe)
Jay Ayers yeah that’s fair. Would you trade down if you had the first overall pick to get a bunch more picks? Or would you just go with the “generational talent” to try and turn your franchise around. In my understanding one guy won’t be able to turn the whole franchise around. The management has to be good, coaching staff, free agency, etc.
The wild-card Giants knocking off Tom Brady, who was fighting for that PERFECT season, is a treasure I will always hold dear. And I am a lifetime 49er fan.
Mayfield should be higher up. He brought the browns from a perfect season record of 0-16. To something like 7-8-1. That’s amazing for a rookie. He, single handidly, ended a joke of a franchise

I feel like there are a lot of videos on 1st overall picks, what about the 2nd overall picks in the last 20 years?
Anyone watching when Alex Smith is basically healthy
So glad Bradford is called out for the bust he really is

Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield need to be switched around ASAP
Yeah I don't get it, how does 1 good year and 1 bad year beat out 1 good year and 0 bad years.
He is a rookie yet to prove himself. Mayfield still needs to prove himself too but 27 TDs as a rookie beats out Murrays 20
Or in math terms:
1 = 1
But
1 -1 != 1
Murray should be higher than mayfield
Stafford perhaps looks even better than #4 now that he’s won a Super Bowl.
It’s true tho....manning got it done ✅
14:31 IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!!
ELI!!!!! GOAT... most clutch playoff QB of all time too
Admits that Carr had little support and won a Superbowl.. but also ranks him second to last 🤔.. also Murray is unproven, so idk how you can rank him in front of Winston.. who speaking of which I think Winston will redeem himself later in his career. He'll move up on this list.

@@xTWOTONTIMx why would you talk shit to a guy who won two super bowls 2007 his defense caring him but in 2012 that was all him
Jake Murphy not necessarily, their defense shut down San Francisco and New England. Then again, his throw to Mario Manningham was one of the greatest I’ve ever seen

I dont care about all the hate but baker is a solid 9/10 because he was 1 of the weapons that got them to the playoffs but sadly they had to play against cheifs😕😕😕
If i was a gm, i would definetely trade down and let a desperate team give me the farm.
p49512 fair argument. Just seems like everything with these picks is a “what if.” Mostly regarding to injuries but still
p49512 yeah fr. Seems like a lot of these number 1 overall picks have been bombarded with injuries that essentially wrecked their careers. And these are players that weren’t really injured in college
p49512 maybe. A win over the broncos would’ve helped for sure
Does Stafford move up now?

Mayfield should be higher up. He brought the browns from a perfect season record of 0-16. To something like 7-8-1. That’s amazing for a rookie. He, single handidly, ended a joke of a franchise
Then the following year he has a horrible head coach. Putting the blame on him is ridiculous.

Is this ranking the draft decision or the players, because some of these picks made sense, its just injuries hit a lot of them unfortunately
I'm so happy that Eli manning was number 1 because he's number 1 in my heart
Not the best player or most consistent, but he had the most pinnacle success. Myles Garret is the best #1 pick on the list talent wise that's still playing. Luck was the best overall. Garret is a hothead though.
Completely DISAGREE!! Carson Palmer was the most talented player on that list and im a Steelers fan saying that, Andrew Luck ill give you was probably #2 behind Palmer and Myles Garrett is just a PUNK ASS PIECE OF SHIT!!
Lol Winston is absolutely a bust, Baker Mayfield is WAAY to high and Jake Long is too low.

he KILLED it today bro. they will all get it soon😈
Eli taking down the perfect season Pats is one of the best things ever...
I like how everyone gives Eli the credit of beating the perfect season patriots when it was really the giants defense who held the team in check. Eli just had to put up points against a middle of the pack defense and even then it took a miracle pass from him to win.
