I picked up the Legends gamer pro around this time last year for $99. Thats the one with two player controls and a trackball. I have been happy with it. Added "the sauce" on a 128gb flash card and it plays thousands of games.
@@johnhancockretro he is talking about CoinOps. I too got the 2 player one last year and just recently unboxed it. I set up Coinops and play the crap out of it, I never use the included ones. Highly recommend the 2 player version if 100 bucks.
wow! I just ordered one earlier this month when I heard gamestop slashed the price on it to 50 bucks! (fed ex took its sweet time getting it to me but that was the only issue getting it) I heard the modding scene for this thing was huge, so any game that it didn't already come with (although a few of the built in ones I'm a fan of, like Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja) that I wanted, I could just add it on there myself! I did find a few of the addon files that let you play two players on USB if you have an extender, so if you can find those cores and have a second USB stick handy you can have two player arcade action at home with no trouble! I'm loving the heck out of this thing for sure. maybe down the line I'll get the pinball upgrade I do have FX3 on PC and this would be a cool way to play those. for anyone wanting to get into the arcade games at home hobby but even the cheapest arcade 1ups are out of your budget, this is definitely the best budget-friendly solution I've seen!!
The Legends Gamer Pro (2 player version) is one of my favorite devices ever. My son and I play all the time. There's some great builds out there that can truly take you through arcade history, just look it up. Even the included games are pretty fun though!
I'm glad I grabbed this for $50 while it was available. I still need to open mine up and get it going. I think this is a great value for what it is. Thanks for the overview and covering some of the games on here.
This is such a great deal at $50! Mine is set up with the pinball buttons and a stand in front of my display rotated to vertical. Most affordable virtual pinball setup out there! Not to mention coinops x arcade games. The device itself is "quirky" at best, but once everything is set up right it's a blast.

I grabbed one of these at- of all things- a thrift store about a year ago for $40, and it works great- as long as you have a 1080p or 4K tv (won't work on 480i or 720p tvs). Well worth it for that price- lots of nice games built in.
This is great!! I know this video just dropped but I already had this shipped after watching this video! This is perfect for my twitch stream hobby on the side to break up some console playing and just drop right into arcade-style play. Good video!
Hey John, thank you for showing this killer deal to us. I've wanted to get some kind of arcade setup but space was a concern, this is a great idea to me. While it took a little to set everything up I'm very happy with the unit. Sound and music is nice and I sense no input lag on the arcade stuck or button which feel nice with a satisfying click
I had bought mine from Sam's Club back in January for $69 it was the last one on the shelf so it was either now or never. I also bought a flash drive with Coinops X from Etsy so it was totally worth it. I wish it had the trackball and paddle with it because some of the games on Coinops X are unplayable on this model like Karate Champ but it's not a deal breaker.
For the price you can't go wrong.Add a tv,build a cabinet and you have a very simple DIY arcade 🙂 I have 2 legends ultimate cabs and I'm building a 3rd out of the 2 player legends pro.
Worth $50 just for the Atgames puck/console, basically a free BT/USB arcade stick to boot I bought one around Christmas '21 as my first ATgames ecosystem buy, for $110 shipped and thought it was a good buy. Dang good deal! Cant believe its still available after 4 days! I have the pro version and love it. You can add game roms. Can rotate the screen vertically for pinball and some classic games. Can be used a game control in windows. The core can be use without the control deck. Take it and a bluetooth/usb game controller on a road trip. Having said all this pairing the control deck with the core can sometimes be frustrating.

Hey, with Zombies Ate My Neighbors, you commented that it was the SNES version, but on the screen it shows the Genesis version. I just noticed the black bar on the right hand side. On the SNES version your info is an overlay over the screen, instead of designated to the black bar. I love that game.
I ordered this because it was dirt cheap right before the holidays. Then I found online that after the firmware update; you must register a free account and log online in order to play the games offline (even the ones you add). That seemed kinda shady and potentially problematic; so I returned it as it did not work as advertised. Most of these games have and will come out to the Switch or other consoles (The TMNT collection has really given hope to that).
I got the 2 player version for $99 last year as many did the same Out of the box experience is pretty subpar but no one buys Legends for that. Installing CoinopsX on it is pretty much a requirement. Make sure to use a fast micro sd card, fast card reader, and don't even bother with wireless/bluetooth connection as the lag is so bad, many games are unplayable and it's just a frustrating experience. Just use the USB cable to keep the controller connected to the puck unit and the lag won't be there. I've had issues with the micro sd partition becoming corrupted (probably b/c there's no way I see to "safely" shut the unit off other than to yank the power), so I always keep a backup image on my computer so I can just recopy the image over to the micro sd card. I do wish hardware was faster and going from game to game was a faster, snappier experience but you're kind of at the mercy of the USB speeds. The overall navigating around the 1600+ games is a bit slow and laggy but once you're in a game, that's not an issue.
The most annoying part is that you MUST be signed in with your Atgames account and must periodically sign into Atgames server. You get to launch external app (i.e. sideloaded apps like Coinopsx) 5 times before you have to connect to the server. So one big concern is that if/when Atgames ever shuts off the server or changes terms, your Legends console may just become a USB arcade stick and you won't be able to play sideloaded games anymore.
The atgames consoles are great for hacking and turning into small MAME consoles. It’s my way to play obscure arcade games like Desert Assault and Vapor Trail. Games that wouldn’t be released on a modern console.
There are so many games you can play with the CoinopsX. Horizontal scanlines and fit looks best. I love playing many arcade games with my kids. 50 dollars is a steal. I bought it for 129. I just bought the legends gamer pro from gamestop for 99.99 which retail 229.99.

I bought one a whiile ago along with the gamer pro when they all went on sale before. I have the mini setup in front of a vertical tv with the pinball buttons but I don't have any tables yet. They are mounted on the stands by buystuffstore I wound up buying another gamer mini during this sale. Too good a deal to pass up plus they all link together for multiplayer. We have had a few gauntlet sessions already. Between all those and the legends ultimate i have I am wondering if I can do 6 player xmen. Haven't tried it yet
My only concern with these is the CTR encoder board will tend to fail after about a yr on these products. Then you have to pay $20 for the encoder board and then $20 for at games to ship to you and then you have to assesmble every yourself. Wireless pairing is horrible. The current firmware after updating will mess up some of the features like CoinopsX and addonX. Keep it on 5.59 or 5.61 firmware. I currently just play with a wired controller and the included puck because my arcade stick is non functional. I would buy this purely for the puck which is the main pcb with the games…etc and use an Xbox fight stick with it.

This seems like a neat unit, I wonder if I could turn the controller parts of this into a wired controller for RetroPie. For $50 maybe it’s worth a try. If I can’t wire it up I can still just use it as-is.
You DO have a history with AtGames, don't you? I will say this; there are actually arcade games on that puck, whether you're an online influencer or not. The products in the Legends line are much better than the previous Blast and Flashback consoles (although Atari Flashback 9 wasn't too bad). Fifty clams is a good deal on the stick, considering its versatility and ability to work with PCs.

Had one arrive yesterday. After 10 minutes of being on every time I switch to a new game the screen becomes static/white noise before going black. Any ideas?
I wish the quality of the device was better now it won't recognize the controller( it will pair with my android tablet and laptop and work fine) , the pairing button doesn't work, and it won't reset through that small hole in the back. I've only played with the device maybe 7 times including with Coinops X and it's already failed I hope the Legends Core Max is of better quality.
Is it possible to put MAME and other emulators on this? I thought it was just that Saucy thing? I looked into it and I wasn't impressed with Saucy, that's why I passed.
Very neat but absolutely not when it comes to spending anything for pinball for example. There are similar units with endless varieties with pinball included. I wish I remembered the name of the one in the video i watched. Had every system on it like Sega Saturn, jaguar, all Nintendo and even odyseey. Of all the cool ports I only saw that one with all systems loaded

I actually bought the Arcade Legends cab a couple of years ago and I like it quite a bit.
That looks like the Genesis version of Zombies Ate My Neighbors. The Snes version don´t have the map visible. Great game no matter what.
It goes for $150 and up in Canada. I hate living in Canada sometimes. Our Arcade 1Up cabs are $600+

Had one arrive yesterday. After 10 minutes of being on every time I switch to a new game the screen becomes static/white noise before going black. Any ideas?

Bummer I just saw this and they're already sold out. That really sucks.
I wish the quality of the device was better now it won't recognize the controller( it will pair with my android tablet and laptop and work fine) , the pairing button doesn't work, and it won't reset through that small hole in the back. I've only played with the device maybe 7 times including with Coinops X and it's already failed I hope the Legends Core Max is of better quality.
Is it possible to put MAME and other emulators on this? I thought it was just that Saucy thing? I looked into it and I wasn't impressed with Saucy, that's why I passed.

Very neat but absolutely not when it comes to spending anything for pinball for example. There are similar units with endless varieties with pinball included. I wish I remembered the name of the one in the video i watched. Had every system on it like Sega Saturn, jaguar, all Nintendo and even odyseey. Of all the cool ports I only saw that one with all systems loaded

Are the buttons and especially the stick, cliky?
The joystick for sure is clicky, and the buttons feel nice too but not clicky.
