WOKE WAR THREE: Millions Spent On Diversity Roles In Ministry Of Defence

- MORE than £3.4m is being spent on diversity roles within the Ministry of Defence, new figures reveal.
An investigation by Talk found a staggering 62 full-time staff were employed by MoD civil servants and Britain’s armed forces by February 2024.
Salaries of full-time employees working on diversity and inclusion have increased by over 277% since 2019 when £900,000 was spent on wages, according to previous FOI requests.
The revelation comes as Sir Keir Starmer is under pressure to increase defence spending.
Leading military voices have expressed their dismay at the MoD’s priorities and costs during the previous administration.
Rear Admiral Chris Parry, former Nato Commander said, “It's just expensive box-ticking and senior officers toadying to politicians. Furthermore, it doesn't contribute to frontline output in any way.”
Philip Ingram, Former Senior Military Intelligence Officer, said: “The MoD spends too much employing people at senior and woke levels to write amazing diversity and inclusiveness policies…
“Political correctness has become a disabling component of defence rather than something that adds to the people.
“Wokeness across the MoD is impacting operational capability and distracting from real issues, where some women are being abused and not gives equal opportunities no matter what senior officer say is happening”

And thank you to every one that was there serving. I was only old enough to watch it on the TV but went in to serve in various ways for 34yrs, in part because of the TV coverage of those guys. Hoisting the Union Flag once again showed who the British were. Sadly it feels like we’ve lost our way at the moment.

@possumyx King Charles is a man and in command of our Armed forces. All the Chiefs of Defence there have ever been are men. Every senior lead in every part of the armed forces has been male. In all of our history we have had just 4 Queens Regnant...Mary I, Mary co regnant with her husmand William, Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II....every other monarch has been male. We have had 3 women Prime Ministers, Thatcher, May and briefly, Truss.
We have had 1 woman Secretary of State for Defence, Penny Mordaunt, for just a couple of months, all others have been male. There are just 3 women on the Defence Council out of 14, they also sit on the Defence Board, with the addition of one more woman out of 15. 2 out of 5 on the Defence Audit and Risk Cimmittee are women. There are 6 on the Chiefs of Staff Committee. 5 are men and they are all the heads of service and the 1 woman is a Vice Chief. Every single Council, Board, Committee, and political leadership roles are massively dominated by men...so how do you come to the conclusion that this stuff is down to women?
I like facts, evidence, statistics...and I think we can reasonably conclude historically and today, that this is down to the blokes.
These departments are TOTALLY unnecessary. In the second world war we had the gurkas, the Indian regiments and every commonwealth country fighting together. Didn't Tony bliar start all this?

I used to be in the CCF, and my nephew helped run the Army Cadets for many years. From this I can assure you that a vastly better way to increase diversity would be to spend that money on supporting organisations like these.
And that isn’t the real cost, the real cost will be in the hundreds of millions for the first couple of years then it goes into the billions. DEI reduces the competency, therefore the quality, therefore more waste, more bad decisions more susceptibility to lives lost .

Any public authority spending money on woke clearly has sufficient budget and doesnt need more money.
We should be concentrating on the primary business function whilst being as inclusive as possible without damaging the primary aim. Currently woke seems to be more important than the primary aim. My favourite example is rainbow stickers for police cars. The police are failing by almost any measure, but insist on appearance being more important than arrests…

Col Ingram was my OC back in the day. I spent 30 years in the Army from Pte to Maj and resigned my commission last year. The Army is a hollowed out unhappy shell of what it was that is obsessed with quotas and DEI was belt fed. We did a full week of it at staff college and we were walking on eggshells trying not to say the wrong thing. It pushed me out of the Army and its clear to me that our military is finished.
Army is about discipline, not being easily offended and respecting each other and your officers. I could never respect a woke officer.

When i was in the army i had a Colonel of Indian heritage. Between us and the yanks and Canada we are making English speaking Nations look weak on the international stage. I joined the army as a boy in 1974. There were a few non-white people in the army at that time. If anything, there was probably a fair representation of this country in terms of black people, maybe 4 or 5%. There was not a fair representation in terms of brown people though. I suspect that was a cultural thing. Not sure if that has changed. How many of the new Immigrant's children will be joining the UK military?
