went on the Aria December 2015, thoroughly enjoyed it.lovely decor, never had a meal i didn't like, never had problem finding a seat in the pantry. only thing that i didn't enjoy were the whingers on board, would happily travel on again.
There are definitely mixed reviews of this ship. It would probably be a great ship for someone who hasn't cruised before, but others who have gone on different cruise lines like Princess Cruises, they will see a big difference.
Just back from a 7 night Pacific Island Hopper cruise on PACIFIC ARIA and we Loved it 😃. Such a beautifully decorated ship and so many great lounge bars to relax in, our favourite was the Blue Bar - great music, comfy lounges and great cocktails. Pleasant surprises on Aria: - The decor on the ship is second to none, we found this a classier more 'adult' ship - So many great restaurant options included in price, once on board book early! Pantry can get loud & busy we preferred Waterfront and Angelos - Cabins are good size with lots of storage, heaps of coat hangers and underbed storage for suitcases - Average age on our cruise was 39! - Lunch/dinner at Salt Grill is so worth the extra cost - At Port Vila the ship docks in the most beautiful spot, go up to The Dome and enjoy the view - The different wall murals in each lift very clever! - Best spot to watch sunset Oasis Pool deck (adults only) - Great to see everyone make an effort on Dress up nights, loved Gatsby night
Heading out on the Aria in a few days for our first cruise. Thanks for your review, it was very informative. Fingers crossed it hasn't declined too much over the years. I thought your review was very balanced.
Amazing cruise review! I liked a lot! The Pacific Aria doesn't look the best. I went on the Carnival Spirit in March 2013 from Melbourne to Sydney via Tasmania. It was a great cruise ship but still not as good as Princess, Royal Caribbean ect. It is probably a first timer cruise ship too. Keep up the great reviews!
I went on this cruise on the 9th of November 2018 I had a wonderful time and the people onboard were so lovely . I stayed on deck 4 with the same window as you and it was dirty but it is from the salt but i didn’t care because I could still see through it I went from Brisbane to Hamilton Island and then to cairns I thought the food was fine and overall I think the people on board tried their hardest to keep everyone happy and they did a good Job definitely recommend going on the aria
Thanks for the review. We are off on the Aria next month and it was great to get a look at the ship. Ignore the internet trolls. They are not worth a second thought.
There was footage of it at the start, but anyway I'm pretty sure you already know the reason why and just trying to get me to say it... It's to do with the fact that I don't fit the under 18 criteria to access that area. I also missed the elemis at sea, choc o block, life photography, salt grill and kids clubs just in case you didn't notice ;)
I have been on 6 cruises on the Pacific Aria and found the food and accommodation fabulous.I am going on another cruise on the Aria tomorrow with some of our family. Can't help the dirty windows as the rain and soot from the winds dirty them.If you are going to complain about dirty windows then i suggest you get a job cleaning them whilst the ship is moving.By the way the word is KILO meter not kilom eter
I've been on a few P&O cruises and whilst they're good for an affordable short break I wouldn't recommend them for longer cruises for the following reason; -Lack of onboard activities, Carnival and RCI have things like mini golf, rock climbing, arcades, sports facilities, etc where as P&O have a very limited water park and that was about it -Food, food is perfectly edible and I ate quite abit but the problem is there's 4 main dining options and 2 of them are only open for dinner, the pantry is ok but would get boring after a while, Watefront was very disappointing IMO. -Size of cabins, I found the cabins to be quite small compared to other cruises, I had an ocean view cabin with a double bed and it was quite small. -Additional costs, whilst there are many free activities, there's also additional charges on many other activities such as the Edge which has activities that would be included on other boats, there was also additional charges for a few of the shows and if you were hungry outside of breakfast, lunch and dinner hours the only options were ones that came at an additional costs where as with other cruises there are 24 hour free dining options. Overall whilst P&O is generally more affordable there are way more additional costs compared to other cruise liners, generally speaking P&O is perfect for older crowds who just want to relax, play some bingo, enjoy some live music, etc but for those who want onboard activities there's better options out there
I had family and friends go on p&o Aria and the Explorer (seperate people who don’t know each other) and both weren’t happy with their cruise, mainly the food. I will stick with royal Caribbean, and trying out carnival for the first time on the splendor next year
Hello, the Aria goes into Mare for the day. The only tour that seems to be available is to Yelunga Beach. Is there somewhere to snorkel there, can you see fish or just coral? Would I be better off waiting until I get to Vila to go snorkling if I want to see fish. Snorkling in Noumea is not an option as the ship is only there for approximately three hours daylight time. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure there were turtles at Yelunga Beach. It is a very beautiful beach, I'm sure you'll enjoy it :) I haven't been to Vila so I can't answer that sorry.
Good, comprehensive, and balanced review. Obiously you are not the only one with such expessed opinions of P&O. It is sad that a so called "Cruise line" with such a pretigious name should have reached such low depths !
There is one thing that you did not note in your review P&O cruises are predominantly three star cruises where as princess and RCCL is 4 stars, that is why things like the decor the food etc is a little bit less quality than the others . I’m guessing you probably realise that when you book on a Princess Cruise or Royal Caribbean your ticket is a lot more expensive than a P&O cruise
But great value Never the less for what you pay. We sailed on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and just did Aria and loved it. Was thinking it was going to be shocking, but was SO SURPASSED OUR EXPECTATIONS. For $1,200 for 7 nights in a ocean view cabin were can you get a great sized cabin and bathroom (with a a bath), good included) food in 4 restaurants, plus rom. service and relax in very elegant surroundings, never feeling crowded, 2 pools one that was never crowded and for adults only. really really great bars and places to relax. Cant praise Aria enough for the low $ you pay.
The Pacific Dawn looked more impressive when I was on it a few years ago. I was considering a cruise on this one but after seeing this, probably not. Good informative video.
Keep in mind this ship was only a couple months old when recording, so things may have changed, and I believe they have. If the price is right, you've got nothing to lose.
good review! :) how did you get all those shots of the cruise ship when it was basicly empty??? special permission, or just some time when it was just dead?
i would like to go on a cruise like this, but as you say, its probably not the best out there, but i am a first timer for cruises, and it looked pretty good!
So it hasn't changed... They really need to do something! also... did you take note if DJ Sakary (the DJ with the real welsh accent) was still onboard?
We chose this cruise based on the itinerary, and it's dates. Also this ship had not been launched under the P&O brand when booking, we also had never been on P&O before.
I've never heard somebody sound so depressed to be on a cruise all of that food looked really yummy and fresh of course ice cream is expensive you are in the middle of the ocean not like Cold Rock will deliver it
This is a small ship compared to most and i thought it was great. The decor was really nice, and the food was nice also. You gotta remember that this is a cheaper ship compared to others. But we loved it. I think some people that go on cruises just like to whinge.
very much disagree that the food was not very good nor was it poor quality - just the opposite as we were in Nov. 2018 on a Papua New Guinea island hopper. The chef cook came from Germany and the cruise director from Canada and this was our 4th cruise. The restaurants had choices of grande tastebuds highlights for everyone and there where one had to pay for meals - the cost prices where certainly justified. Everything was top notch, seen form an European background perspective. The well selected crew, bar the captain and officers changes every couple of months and there was not even one crew member noticeable who did slack off. Thank you P&O for looking so well after us.
I went August September. The piano man in the mix bar is the best thing on the ship fantastic! Don't know why you have to wait for a table with a buzzer when the restaurant is only half full. Problems in the pantry finding a seat. Overall had a good time but would never go p and o again, eg entertainment 5 comedians a clown and a comedian magician who was great. A violinist and a vocalist Monica Montez was good. Their premier show, they had a 30 minute video explaining it. It was a ballet where everyone was speaking a made up language. After about 30 mins we walked out, together with half the audience. I think p and o are trying to run a ship on a budget. You certainly don't get the extras like free fries, hamburgers and hot dogs as on princess cruises.
Same opinion here, as I'm mainly on Princess Cruises I could definitely see the flaws like paying for the grill and ice cream also not having free food available at all times of day. I didn't really go to the shows, but the DJ doing Name-That-Tune was amazing. The only show I did go to was the hypnotist which was funny! I did enjoy my cruise, but I would've enjoyed it way more if I went on Princess. Next year I will be doing more cruises, hopefully the'll be better :) Thanks For Watching!
TravelFlow princess is definetly my favourite cruise line. I became friends with almost all staff an was well known on the entire ship by all, along with my friend 😂 makes the experience better if you get to know the crew. On the last night in the cruise to NZ I didn't go to dinner in the dining room, and my waiters sang a song to me and got my sister to film it for me 😂
We went in July and you were far more generous than we would be in our review. It was our first cruise and we still knew the food, service was not up to scratch. Thanks for your honesty. Wish I had watched this before booking.
That's sad to hear, yes you probably should've watched this review first. At least you get why this review was negative, compared to the other commenters below...
WHAT NOT RECOMMENDED. I PAYED $6.000 FOR A SUITE So for me I’m looking forward for a cruise. And at least you got a room and you were VERY lucky to have you self on the aria.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time on Pacific Aria. No idea what this lady/man is talking about. Why would you be so negative and post it up at the same time. The $6.50 “pretty overpriced “ ice cream, but you sound like you preferred a more expensive cruise.
I believe the Pacific Aria has improved a lot since my video. Please consider the variables before posting a comment like this. But still, $6.50 for an ice-cream...... that is a rip-off. p.s thanks for not assuming my gender :)
Travel Flow..I know you're trying to give an honest opinion..However, you;re coming across as a food snob..I have seen views recently about the Aria and they said they food was pretty good..and that was thing yr 2018 . Of course everyones taste is different..Im just happy they cook for me..Its a rare thing for me that someone else does it.. They work damn hard and no matter what i try to be kind to them all.. they give 100% and if they dont, sadly they get the sack..Id hate for that to happen on account of me .. So i smile and say thankyou and get to know them a little more..FYI.. that too is important as , if you dont like something they will make a true effort to make it better for you.. that includes your dining ..
As I've mentioned many times in this comment section, I am a cruise reviewer. Part of my job is to point out all the rights and wrongs of a certain cruise I've been on, in an unbiased way. People can therefore use this information to determine which is the better option for them. I personally enjoyed this cruise, I enjoy every cruise I go on, and don't travel it for granted. But I still need to deliver the promise of giving an honest opinion of the ship, when compared to other ships, and that may get in the way of what I actually thought of the cruise as a holiday, and I'm deeply sorry about that.
PNG cruise in August 2016 was the worst I have ever been on. Poor organisation at the Bridge, cancelled shore tours and not able to stay at an island that we were supposed to visit because the ship couldn't hold anchor on a sandy bottom......what th'..... Didn't the captain research anchoring his ship before taking us there?Ship itself has had a cosmetic facelift but is 25 years oldVALUE FOR MONEY....NAH....GO ON A BIGGER SHIP WITH ROYAL CARRIBEAN OR HOLLAND AMERICA...NOW THATS A CRUISE LINE!
I am in fact going on a bigger ship with Royal Caribbean, although I prefer Princess out of all of the lines. I didn't experience that sort of problems on my cruise but that does sure sound bad :( Thanks For Watching!
My Wife and I was on the Pacific Jewel just before Christmas and liked it that much that we booked enougher longer Cruise with P&O. You get what you pay for and I thought that P&O being on a lower budget, lower cost base did a pretty good job.
remember that the food IS FREE dumb ass
You might pay $70 for a disgusting buffet.. but the food is free; it’s just sitting there for free, so that’s fine.. right?
besides the food isnt that bad..Ive been on six and im happy that im not cooking..well done to them I say...
The food is "free" on the Carnival cruises to, and they look and taste heaps better than P&O shit.
@2insane kids
Well you could say you pay for it in the price.......🤷♀️
yeah where do you think the $600 for the cruise went
went on the Aria December 2015, thoroughly enjoyed it.lovely decor, never had a meal i didn't like, never had problem finding a seat in the pantry. only thing that i didn't enjoy were the whingers on board, would happily travel on again.
There are definitely mixed reviews of this ship. It would probably be a great ship for someone who hasn't cruised before, but others who have gone on different cruise lines like Princess Cruises, they will see a big difference.
this was my seventh cruise, i am not saying it was perfect but i think cruising is what you make of it
have sailed princess, royal carribean, celebrity ... had a great cruise on aria
Going on the aria in March 2020 to tasmania on a back to back cruise 12 days from Adelaide return looking forward to it
That sounds great, hope you have a good trip :)
@@TooTechnical thank you for the reply
Omg that’s me walking down the stairs at 1:50. Same cruise number and everything lol
congrats you made the big time!

Great to hear your opinion of the ship :)
Heading out on the Aria in a few days for our first cruise. Thanks for your review, it was very informative. Fingers crossed it hasn't declined too much over the years. I thought your review was very balanced.
How was your first cruise?
How was it alex?
The aria is amazing
+Gemma Leigh Hopefully it improved for you, because my experience wasn’t too good.
Amazing cruise review! I liked a lot! The Pacific Aria doesn't look the best. I went on the Carnival Spirit in March 2013 from Melbourne to Sydney via Tasmania. From what I’ve been hearing it’s definitely improved. Glad you had a great time, the crew were very good on our cruise :)
I loved the food! I ooved that ship, the baby of them but still amazing
The ship itself was very good, and I’ve heard the food has improved drastically.. so it’s probably not a bad deal, if you get a good price
Thanks for the review. We are off on the Aria next month and it was great to get a look at the ship.
Ignore the internet trolls. They are not worth a second thought.
I do believe this ship has improved a bit, so hopefully should be better than this, especially considering it'll be fresh out of refurbishments.
I didn't see any footage of the Oasis bar and pool. Any reason you missed this area?
There was footage of it at the start, but anyway I'm pretty sure you already know the reason why and just trying to get me to say it... Under 18 for the Oasis?
It is...
Well I went on the ship 10 days ago and it was 18+
TravelFlow the oasis is over 18 not under
my mum ad sister are on this at the moment :-) they said the food was quite average too .. first time cruisers as well .. ty for the video ..

Awesome video mate! I have never been on a cruise but that ship looks pretty average. I can't wait to see your flight reviews too. Liked :)
Thanks dude :)
Will be on this Ship in March for 2 weeks. Wy Wifes and I's second Cruise with P&O. First Cruise was with Pacific Jewel.
Hope you have a great cruise (:
Overpriced, that's premium ice cream from New Zealand
It's the only ice-cream on the ship, if your craving ice-cream... you're going to have to get the premium stuff! Thanks for watching!
But it is really good NEW ZEALAND ice cream
Yeah it was Icey and definitely not premium when I was there.
I remember the ice-cream to be alright from there, not icy.
Was free in pricess
I'm going on it February 3rd... I'm so excited!!
Hope you have a great time ;)

Too right, there seems to be a stark difference between UK P&O and Aussie one.
Low depths?

Aim booked for 2016 October 17th! I'm so excited :D
Cool... Hope you have fun!
No way same here no joke
Sorry guys... I'm not! Hope you have a lovely time and say hi to DJ Sakary
I'm staying in deck 5 and this is my first cruise woah XD
Thanks for this video, I’m going on this ship In May
You're welcome, enjoy your trip :)
Awesome!!! It was fascinating for me having never being on a cruise (only the Spirit Of Tasmania)
Haven't been on the Spirit of Tasmania, I would like to though... Thanks for watching!
Now if you want "overpriced" go on the Spirit of Tasmania! you even have to pay for the cinema! and certainly no "free" food!!
Great review!
Note: not "free" but "included". Subtle but important difference.
Right... will remember for the next videos :)
The aria is awesome
You're awesome
I’m going on this is two days
How was your cruise?
TravelFlow amazing! It was smooth but I got a little sea sick
The Aria is 10 times better than the Dawn.I have been on both many times.
Neat little video, thank you!!
Thanks :)
Im going on this! April 2020
im going on it tomorrow avo!
Do you need vaccinations from NZ for the pacific Cruises?
good review! :)
how did you get all those shots of the cruise ship when it was basicly empty??? special permission, or just some time when it was just dead?
i would like to go on a cruise like this, but as you say, its probably not the best out there, but i am a first timer for cruises, and it looked pretty good!
If you think this is good, wait until you see some of my future ones... thanks for watching!
ohhh! cool! have you already filmed them, or are they in planning?
In planning
Food was great dont know what shes use to
I love this video
Thanks, another ship review is in the editing, hoping for release this weekend :)
great review, well done, thanks for sharing
+Dung HuFlung Thanks for leaving a nice comment, appreciated
i went oh the Aria to cairns from July 3 to 10 2016 and i agree the food is not the best but not to bad
So it hasn't changed... They really need to do something! also... did you take note if DJ Sakary (the DJ with the real welsh accent) was still onboard?
Awesome Report!
Thanks.
Y did u go on it then
We chose this cruise based on the itinerary, and it's dates. Also this ship had not been launched under the P&O brand when booking, we also had never been on P&O before.

Yeah I probably should’ve emphasised in the review that this was a cheaper ship, glad to hear you had a great cruise
TravelFlow The Princess line are top notch though.
I would most definitely agree, I have a princess review coming this month hopefully
Loved this review! I'ma going on this ship in April. I can't wait :D Great work
Thanks a lot! Hope you do enjoy! Say hi to DJ Sakary if he's still onboard :)
Great Job Man!
Thanks! Happy Birthday, heading off on the plane soon!

That's sad to hear, yes you probably should've watched this review first. At least you get why this review was negative, compared to the other commenters below...
Oh god, what have they done with my beautiful little Ryndam...
From what I can tell they ruined it
also thank you Travel flow
I went on this boat
Congratulations!
Well done, great review
Thanks a lot! I've got another one in the making right now on the Ovation Of The Seas if you're interested?
we got comments of big youtube channels
Doesn't belong to P&O anymore sold on in 2020.
WHAT NOT RECOMMENDED. I PAYED $6.000 FOR A SUITE
So for me I’m looking forward for a cruise. And at least you got a room and you were
VERY lucky to have you self on the aria.
I am very lucky...
When I went on the pacific dawn the waterfront was terrible the service was bad and food was gross
I can agree.
PnO is Half the price of Princess Cruise Line...

Doesn’t have the look and feel of P&O. Looks like the once glitzy second hand ship it is
Certainly right.

ON THE SHIP 2 WEEKS AGO.THE FOOD WAS RUBBISH.THE STAFF WERE GREAT.
THAT'S A SHAME.SORRY TO HEAR THAT.
Doesnt sound old enough to be in any of the bars LOL
Luckily no one's really watching... ;)
what ever your so bias
Ok
Very ungrateful
I was trying to give my honest opinion, if i was said everything was great, what's the point..? People will think I'm doing paid reviews.
first :-)
:-)
If you rate the aria 6/10 then the Pacific jewel deserves a -15 out of 10
Oh dear, sure it's not that bad, What was so bad about it?
My Wife and I was on the Pacific Jewel just before Christmas and liked it that much that we booked enougher longer Cruise with P&O. You get what you pay for and I thought that P&O being on a lower budget, lower cost base did a pretty good job.
Worst cruise ship I’ve ever been on. Food was bad, no activists, shit all entertainment. Spent everyday wishing to get off
Sorry to hear that, surely after three years they would have the ship at a satisfactory standard.
So boring
Nice
