- Back in late 2022 I came across King Snake Guitars by coincidence on instagram. I had never heard of this brand before. I was immediately drawn to their aesthetic and beautiful guitars. Such vibey and classic 50's style Japanese handcrafted instruments. I reached out to them, to ask if they were interested in letting me check out one of their guitars in return of a free video, and here we are. I'm very grateful for the opportunity, and I will miss this guitar a long time after I have shipped it back, thats for sure.
A special thanks to Michel from MIJ Guitars for loaning me this one. Make sure to check out his webshop.

They need so much more publicity! I found out about them last year as well. Absolutely gorgeous guitars!
That opening intro if fucking badass. You could make me want to buy a new guitar everyday of the week 😂
Haha thanks man! Yeah I tried to recreate and honor some of that 50s industrial blues, but with a twist.
We need a new video from you, brother!!! Praying all is well with you!!! Sending this on my 59th birthday!!! Keep on pickin', my friend!!! Cheers!!! 😃🤘🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Doug I’m very well🤗 And huge congrats man, hope you’re having a lovely day, getting spoiled and everything 😃Yeah I’m sorry that the channel gets a bit neglected atm, I’m pretty back up with work. Anything you would like to see next?
@@ChrisEffort Thank you, Sir!!! Home alone with guitars and food...a great birthday!!! Wife is at work. Glad your well, brother. I always keep an eye out for videos from you. Would love to hear any of your playing on your 000-15SM!!! Definitely my next guitar!!! Would love to hear "Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin on it!!! That would be awesome!!! Cheers, my brother!!! God bless you and yours!!!😃🙏🤘
That intro was incredible! Your playing is so good, I could watch for hours :)
Thank you so much!
These tones are freaking amazing. What a sound!
Thanks bud! Awesome guitar, if only I had the money to keep it.
Just loving these videos, playing and videography is stellar!
J... ( Toronto )
Thank you J! Appreciate it a lot man
Sounds amazing and the guitar/tone is off the chains. Cheers!
So glad you like it! Thank you David
Man, I’ve just found this video 6 months later, and wow! What a guitar, and what incredible playing. Am I right in thinking this is ‘inspired’ by the Es-125? Wish I could afford one. Absolutely love that filthy blues piece you opened with and that sweet, soulful jam you ended with is sublime. Don’t see any lessons on your page. Do some lessons. Please. Go on....... . Peace.
Laying down some nice pickin', brother!!! Getting lost in some minor pentatonic blues!!! Great job as always, brother!!! Enjoyed it!!! Cheers!!!😁👍🤘🎸🎶🎵🎉📀💿
I appreciate you Douglas! Always a pleasure reading your kind and supporting comments man. Thank you!
@@ChrisEffort You're very welcome, brother!!! We should always lift each other up!!! Easy to be a jerk and negative!!!😝😝😂😂 No skill requirements there!!! Been playing my Ovation today instead of my Martin...makes me play and think differently. I've written a great song to boot!!! Keep on pickin'!!! Cheers, brother!!! It's a hot n sunny day in Florida!!!😁👍🙏🤘🎸🎶🎵🎼
@@ChrisEffort BTW....check out "Tupelo" by Jason Isbell on RUclips. Great song, & those Martin guitars are sounding good in it!!!! Doesn't disappoint!!!😁👍🤘🎸
Hey, Chris. Hope all is well with you, brother. Been awhile since you posted a video and just wanted to check on you. God bless and keep you, brother.
Hi Doug. Been fighting with a lack of motivation and some stunting challenges in life. But I will come back, promise. Thanks for checking in on me, it means a lot. Take care brother
@@ChrisEffort Yes Sir. I totally understand. Last 4 yrs have been tough for me. Hang in there, brother. God bless you and yours always
Hey man, this sounds incredible!!! Well done! May I ask what fuzz pedal you're using in the intro section?
I had no clue of this guitar either. coincidently for $200. I bought an Amazon Redit and for that price, I'm good.
Nice! As long as it makes you happy, brand, price etc means absolutely nothing.
Sweet! Decent prices on them too. I’m sure they are a better value than any made in USA you’ll find.
The craftsmanship is impeccable, it just oozes high quality. I hope too see them in more western peoples hands soon.
Labor cost is the #1 cost in American made guitars. Lets face it, skills and craftsmanship cost money. And labor costs are definitely different country to country. I've never worked for free!!!😁👍
@@douglasholdenjr.45 You think Japanese labor is cheap? Lol!
@@douglasholdenjr.45 To be clear, it’s a cultural difference. American craftsmanship is all but dead and companies charge as much as they can extract from brand loyalists while Japanese craftsmen are extremely dedicated to doing their absolute best and improving as much as they can throughout their lives. Nearly every person I have worked with in America is dedicated to doing as little as possible while not getting fired.
@@mooseymoose No I don't. Never said that. But I knew my comment would probably draw some comments.😒 Wasn't meant to. American union labor is expensive!!! Union labor cost more. Only Gibson isn't union labor, so no reason for what they charge!!!
Japanese guitars are the absolute shit!!! is not just a good price/quality relation, its just quality!
I haven’t got much experience with Japanese electric guitars except now this, and a couple of JPN Fenders, and the quality has been impeccable! Killer killer guitar!
Wish you had played it with a sound/amp better matching to the historical type of guitar, like a small tweed amp. Heavy Fuzz or Reverb drenched clean tone is not what i associate with a hollow body like this - could be any guitar.
You are absolutely right, however I like to think that guitars with a certain look and vibe don’t necessarily have to be played in a manner we generally associate them with. But thanks for your feedback, I will definitely do something more ol’ timey the next time I have the opportunity to loan a King Snake guitar.
Thank you !
Thank you Michel!
