Amazing footage, thank you for sharing. Personally this more vocally aggressive Electra is my least favourite interpretation of the character from the original London run. I was glad they pulled it back to something more akin to the pre-New Starlight template after John left, but I will say he was absolutely fantastic in everything else I’ve seen him in and remains my favourite Rum Tum Tugger in both English and German. To me though, this version of AC/DC is divisive at best. A previously slick pop number as performed by the likes of Jeffrey Daniels and the amazing Koffi Missah became a clattering affair with vocals at odds with the hypnotic beat. I always imagined the template for the character to be similar to Michael Jackson.
@@musicalkiddo0642 The reason there laughing is exactly that, Joule came out in curlers, Krupp is being overly flamboyant. Also Pearl isn't wearing her wig in this.
A star like Bonnie wouldn't play a minor role like that, especially not in such an incredibly dangerous show. She'd be the star, with her name above the title.
I think there's something sexist about it, but that kind of fits Electra...which doesn't fit at all...that the audience laughs😠😠even if it's just for show, they did a great job👏🏻👏🏻in my opinion as an Electra expert⚡😉applause to them Actors and thanks for the shot❤️❤️
They're not laughing at Electra or the actor playing him, it was a muck-up matinee where the actors play jokes on other cast members and the audience because it's one of their last performances as a cast, thats what they're laughing at. They're not being disrespectful.
I've been waiting to see this man as Electra for my whole 32 years on the planet thank you for uploading ❤
John Partridge is the ONLY Electra for me ❤️
I remember seeing this! It was amazing!

Muckup matinees are the best.
Great footage!
I know right, I just wish the person filmed the whole thing as its rare to get as good footage as this from the London run.

Not the audience laughing LOL but they did cheer for Volta and Joule so I can't say they have bad taste 🤣
They’re laughing cause it was a “muck up matinee” which is a show where the actors can be weird

@@musicalkiddo0642 that's so cool... I never knew they did that
I was there for that show I was probably one of the people cheering at the back.
