- In this fun video i take on both 80 year old Golf Legend OMP (OLDER) & Captain Ebay Pete 65 years young (OLD) at Chorlton Hardy Golf Club, We play Stableford matchplay.
I play from the tips & they both play off the forward tees.
We use the stroke index to decide who gets a shot on which holes.
Stableford Rules are
Par a hole 2 points, with a shot would be net birdie 3 points.
Bogie the hole 1 point, with a shot would be net par 2 points. Birdie the hole 3 points, with a shot would be net eagle 4 points.
We found out they both support Manchester United & Ebay's lowest handicap was 9. OMP likes country & western music & his lowest score so far 67 gross.

Front back, back to the future, should do a 2vs2 scramble..
With my golfmates, we played stroke play....always. Now...when we had a large group of guys playing...over 8 players, we played skins...no strokes. You had to shoot the lowest score of all the players to win a skin. We all chipped in $20 USD and at the end of 18 holes, we had one of club professionals check all the score cards and then he would divide up the money to go to the winners. If no skins were won...you got your $20 back!
Now...my best friend and would sometimes play Foursomes...like it is played in the Ryder Cup. We never lost....in your words Liam..we done them like a kipper!!! 😂😂😂😂
Stableford if you have a bad hole it doesn’t matter so you are always in game no matter what your handicap is Liam what was you thinking giving a shot a hole and off forward tees

Liam,we used to have a celebrity tournament in Colorado that used Stableford scoring.
Stableford in the US is the "points game". Several of our senior groups play that each week 3-4 times per week. We deduct points above a double bogey so that very high handicappers don"t have an advantage. If you adjusted your strokes based on tees played then no Kippers were done. OMP just had a great first shot. Great match and banter......well done

Hero! Maybe the best in the world at 80 years old. I am closer to OMP’s age than I am the other golfmates and I know how much it takes to just get to the course. He is a true gentleman and an excellent golfer.

Liam, nothing like Xmas in September, well done OMP. In Australia, Stableford is the main competition each week with stroke played once a month usually. You should play "verse par" for a change of format. The Americans would not know that game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sometimes struggle to see your Logic, Liam. If OMP says he needs to remove a tree as it hinders his shot, then the tree is legally removed. allowing OMP his shot! if it's not in the R&A rules, then it damn well should be.

How have you not cottoned on with the length of time you've been friends with OMP that he will use anything to gain or help himself out. But then he also has the game to back himself , 80 year old playing off 12/13 handicap with a net hole in one true legend and just in ore of his game , keep safe and well golfmates

Liam, they played you like a violin and it was fun to watch. 😂 FYI - The PGA Tour has one tournament The Barracuda Championship which uses the Modified Stableford system. Scoring is similar but, a bogey is -1 and a dbl bogey is -3.
