Another great post . I too prefer to see a price on items. I am no good at the price dealing. As always, thank you .
Thanks Sylvan 👍🙂
Love the british toy shows, and you do such a smasher of a job of your toy show videos as well as the book faire ones❤❤❤❤❤heres to more of all in 2025
Thanks Steve much my friend 🙂
Great video as always. If I go to a toy show in the UK I would save enough on shipping and customs fees, compared to buying on Ebay, that the savings would pay for the trip over there.
Maybe you should take a trip over here🙂
@@JulesBurt yes I´m trying to save up. Probably will be for a fair at Sandown. Wanna grab a beer?
If we ever get to Sandown....
I did enjoy this video and commentary and I did actually go to this toyfair despite the awful weather at the time. I did leave empty handed however and it definitely felt more quiet because of the storm, I was expecting to see a lot more Lego etc for example like earlier in the year but as you mentioned some stall holders didn't turn up. Its good you got something for your collection though and I do agree about being really picky with condition! I am also strongly considering doing a stall at Matford next year as I really need to downsize and while I have started to get stuff ready I still have tons to sort out!
I may well do a show next year, I have quite a bit that needs to be cleared. It's just making the time to get it sorted 👍
I live in northern Ireland and we never have anything cool like this unfortunately
That's a shame.
A bit like going back in history ....
Certainly a nostalgia trip🙂
Call me an old bastard if you will, but what I love about UK Toy shows is at least you folks have the good old stuff...old Matchbox, Dinky, Corgi, toy soldiers, old trains, etc. I get tired of going to US shows and seeing nothing but wrestling toys and action figures. Geez....
Understood although I still wish there was more vintage on offer.
@@JulesBurt Hi - actually, I"m amazed at how much vintage they did have. The shows that I've gone to in the US (Ohio) , you're lucky if you see two tables of vintage diecast or vintage stuff in general. Most of what they have is plastic action figures...which does NOT interest me in the least. I"m 64 (the old bastard), so that probably explains a lot. But, I do have to tell you, as I said in my other comment, I do deal in collectibles (not really toys unless I"m selling MY old toys at a flea market), and frankly, the younger folks DO buy the older stuff and weirder stuff which I and my wife like to sell. A couple of fleas I do, the weirder it is....the better chance it's going to sell. Part of the problem in the states, is that at the train shows, there's a lack of younger folks buying. Now, at slot car shows (which I attend to only buy), I'm seeing more and more younger folks...thank goodness!
Good to know, thanks my friend!
Once again, call me a bastard..but I deal in collectibles. When I go to a show to buy, I bring cash....lots of it. I went up to this table and I saw all this guy's inventory. I opened my wallet like I was going to buy something....got his attention.....and told him, "See all this?" I showed him the wad of cash I had. I said, "You're not getting any of it and I'll tell you WHY. There's this great invention see....THEY'RE CALLED FUCKING PRICE TAGS. Learn how to use THEM". Then I said, "Watch this..." I went over to the table RIGHT next to him and spent $50 just to spiite and piss him off.
So my point? When I do a flea market or ANY collectible show.....I have ALL my shit priced. In fact, I am shocked when someone actually manages to find something on my table that IS NOT priced.
I also will give discounts if you are polite with me and you buy several items. Further, I have a saying, and more dealers should learn it...."Better to WHOLESALE than NO SALE"....... Excellent video by the way!
Point taken...
