The stream up the road has wild or we call them native brook trout in it. That first trout you showed would be a big one if I caught 1 that size in my stream. But it's fun once every couple year's. Great video again.

Yes I remember you being in that tunnel last time I’m one of your other videos but like you say it has a bit more water in it.. I think all the rivers have had a bit of water in them recently. Really happy for your other half to be starting her RUclips channel. That should help her, hopefully sell some of her artwork…. used to fish a place in Great Ayton called the river Leven and it used to have lots of bullheads and stone loaches as well … that was about 35 years ago so God knows what’s in there now. Had some nice trout in it as well, but I think things have changed as they do. Anyway, loving the video as always my friend and you and Harry need to get yourself back together as haven’t seen the mighty duo for awhile. Saying that he has been doing a lot of fishing abroad hasn’t he. Anyway, hope the little one is alright and look forward to your next video buddy. 👍😁🎣🎣🎣

Granted I did get wet, but this time the full waders were definitely needed! Mighty duo might not be together for a while unfortunately, Harry has his hands full with travelling etc!

Good man for picking up the litter I always try leaving a place cleaner than when I arrived, John lock explained about the take 5 initiative and its just take 5 pieces of litter off the beach or take 5 minutes at the end of your outing and bag up whatever you can. I keep telling people about it but luckily most people do respect the beaches and river banks, I went beach combing walk a mile of rock n shingle and I had a bucket 🪣 with me excepting loads of plastic bottles and cans but I only found 1 plastic bottle and a piece of aluminium that looked like a piece of boat as it had solid foam on one side, anyway it shows how much people have taken care of the beach ⛱ that's really good to see people caring.

It’s a very tiny stream in summer I really doubt there are any salmon in the first section! The second bit definitely could hold some though, in my opinion the first is a trout and the second was a parr!

No no no - fish upstream. Not down. That way they only get an instant to see-chase-and grab it after turning to chase it downstream. Fewer missed takes too. Fishing down like you're sometimes doing mostly here in fast streamy water will mostly produce sardines - as you proved here. Upstream casting tends to produce the better fish present. Stay back from the edge if possible. Try flick casts into tight spots. Have most of a rodlength of line from tip to spinner. Hold hooks in off-hand. With bail open tension against the rod curve. Aim for your target spot. Takes practice, this. Release the lure a split second before releasing the line. Produces an accurate lure placement by threading its placement into little gaps. Such are very seldom fished. So tend to hold heavier fish. Really, only beginners spin downstream for trout!😂 Until I discovered fly fishing I fished for trout no other way. With mepps Aglia no.0 to 1. Deadly. In very clear water try a Black Fury coloured version. Pike go for them too, more than the plain silver/gold I'd use in deeper or very slightly coloured streams. Fishing downstream also twists up your line much more. I fished ultra light for trout decades before that term was coined. 3lb main line straight to the spinner. Plenty of distance. Tight lines!

Thanks mate! It depends. I always look thoroughly on google for information. If it's a club water i'll look for tickets if there aren't any i"ll move on! If theres somewhere with public access, no nofishing signs and nothing online i'd just crack on!

@@adventurefishinguk I was out lure fishing for perch with my 9 year old daughter and the soft lure with the jig got caught up I pulled it to release the snag and it came flying back at me and the lead went straight through my eye ball was lucky to survive it surgeons said of it had gone a little further in I wouldn't be here now I have just got my artificial eye just yesterday I posted all over the Facebook pages when it happened with photos giving my advice hoping know one will make the same mistake I did

Yeah I'd off said that dead fish was a miller's thumb (European bull head) , used too get loads off them as a kid with a net aswell as stone Loaches

I trot a float with maggots in a similar stream.Handful of maggots,then trot down with them.
A live minnow on a size 8 hook under a float never fails.

I've always thought you're supposed to fish from the downstream end as trout face up river??
To be honest i'm not fully sure which is best, the logic for moving downstream is better lure presentation I think as you say they face upstream
