I did this today, thank you so much! I have very round thighs and super small waist. I bought a nice pair of tencel pants I thought would fit, now they do. + they don't make that awkward crotch thing
Enjoy your videos but in this particular video, it was not clear to me where you were inserting the gusset. A diagram, prior to sewing would be very helpful as you go along so that we knew what to expect with each step. I am not very experienced and feel that many, like myself, need more details. Thank you for allowing me to comment.
Sorry it isn't clear for you Annette. You basically need to unpick the center back seam and the inside leg seam down to the knee area and insert the gusset into that section. I can understand if you are just learning it can seem confusing. But when you have done one or two you get to understand what is happening.
Judith, thank you for this lesson. My son also has muscular thighs and always wears the crotch out. I recently started sewing and was looking for a solution to fix 5 pairs of jeans that he has already had professionally PATCHED at the crotch. By adding a denim gusset to the inseam, will this make the outside seam of his jeans twist?
It would definitely not make the jeans twist. Putting a gusset into jeans would be the same. However more often than not, the inside leg seam is a flat felled seam, or double stitched. So there is a little bit more work involved than a normal pair of trousers. But it would work.
This is so helpful to me. I have big thighs so I could so easily do this. Thank you so much for uploading all these videos.

Thats awesome Sunniva. Well done.
This was down to earth and instructive. What a way to salvage perfectly good clothes! Yes.
Thank you Deb.
This is wonderful! I have wanted to try adding gussets to pants but was nervous about doing it without any guidance. Thanks!
Exactly what I needed to know, thank you!
Great music. Very a e s t h e t i c

Thanks, this video was of a great help I was able to fix 10 pants.
That's great news Sandy. Well done. Saves a lot of money fixing instead of throwing away.

hi
Isn't it something of a faux paux to make a gusset with the opposite grain direction?
When you are using fabric from the hem it is the only option.
