- The Anderson Valley is about 2 hours away from the Bay Area and it is a fantastic part of California to explore with wineries, history, restaurants and redwoods. Amie and I spent a weekend in the valley and enjoyed getting to know this special part of California. Check it out and go visit the area yourself if you have the chance. Let me know what your favorite spot is in the comments.

Josh & Amy- it was such a pleasure working with you! Thank you for capturing our community so beautifully & for sharing your experience. We can't wait to welcome you back the next time you need some R&R. Bahl Hornin'!
I'm from Northern California & retired in San Diego. I sit back & take your trip in, pretending that I'm there. I miss the Redwoods, I just love the Ocean more. Thank you for providing virtual getaways for us that can't travel that much anymore. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors! Happy Trails!
No problem, I am so glad you enjoy the trips so much, it means a lot to me!
This is one of our favorite places to visit. We've been going to Hendy Woods since our kids were toddlers and we even celebrated my wife's 40th birthday there! The nearby coastal town of Elk is also a favorite spot.
We love our kids BUT, it sure is nice to getaway with just each other and have a great time. Your and Amy’s smiles were easy to see that time away and a great location are just what you needed. Great video👍
I could tell this was a special and unique trip because of the number of bottles Amy had and that you had no hat and a collared shirt.
Never heard of the area but really beautiful with lots to offer
haha a collared shirt without a hat is not something I wear often haha
i've been subscribed for 6 months now and this video has finally inspired me to share how much i appreciate your content . it's my biggest dream to live in California and your level of cinematography & cohesiveness in all your work truly makes me feel like i'm there . thank you for that :-) keep it up :) !
Really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, glad you like the videos!
Amy is feeling and looking so chillllll. Great video Josh. There's a lot packed in this 20 minute video. It feels like this took place in the span of at least 2 weeks. Keep exploring more wineries.
This is one of my favorite videos on your lovely channel! Please, can you tell me where to get a shirt like the one Amy is wearing on day one of this trip? I really love the chemistry when you and Amy film together, Josh. I know she is busy with the kids, so it is a treat to see her come along.
Thank you for sharing, such a beautiful video. I enjoyed it!!
Funny, while you say "began the drive north along HW 101" you're actually not on HW 101 but on what looks like Richmond Bridge. Even funnier my wife just said we need to check out Land and Water Coffee - which is very close to our house.
Often drove through Anderson Valley, never stopped. Guess that's something we have to remedy. Thanks for your videos. Always nice to see new spots not far away.
Fantastic video! I did not know about this area as we live in AZ. We will definitely check Anderson Valley out as it it has many things to offer for a couple to check out. Food, wine & nature are the best combination! Thank you for highlighting this area. Glad you and Amy had some time together enjoying this area.
Thanks for the comment and I hope you have fun if you visit! You can always pair it with Mendocino or more of the Bay area too
Thanks Josh and Amy. Its good to see the original duo of you two, back taking trips together. (I bet it feels good to take a break from the kids once in awhile!) While I love seeing Josh and Pops on trips, it is really nice to see Amy back!
Good video...I never stop in the Anderson Valley though I've driven through a zillion times on the way to Mendocino and the coast. Now I can see what I've been missing!
LOL at 9:45, I thought those corks were little sausages with pictures of the goats that made them.
haha!
Have visited the Anderson Valley, and it's beautiful. Thanks for reminding me that it's time to get back there! There are so many artists in the area.
Glad you enjoyed the area and I hope you have a great time if you go back!
I love to see both of you in this wonderful trip. ❤ 🤍
Another hidden gem. Definitely going to look into this!
We had a great time, I hope you do as well if you go!
Nice to see Amy and you getting to travel as a couple again :)
Ya it was fun to make a video like the pre kids days haha
Thank you both for wonderful videos 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This my neck of the woods!!
Support from Hong Kong! I have been watching your videos since 2020.
Nice 👍 at weekend.
Anderson Valley......sounds like a place that you (and Amy) would like to go back again and chill without the kids.
For sure! We had a great time
I live about 3 hours south from there. I love the vineyards, apple orchards and goats. Definitely adding it to my list of places to visit. Thank you for sharing- love your videos!
I hope you enjoy it!
This looks like such a great area. You do a great job of showcasing the places you visit!Thank you for your great videos!
Thank you, appreciate it!
Hard cider is legit, Gowan is good, try Tin City Paso Robles, and my all time favorite is Sea Cider Farm in Victoria as well.
Sweet, thanks for the tips, will try those!
Brilliant work my boy.
Thank you for another great video. What a fun area to explore. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us.
No problem, thank you for watching the video!
I like that area. Much more relaxed. I need to checkout that spot where you guys grabbed the picnic lunch.
Pops a high pocket 😂
So much do to. I would have never known. Very cool and informative video!
❤Nice area😊
What a fun place! My favorite thing is definitely the cute goats!! 🐐 And Hendy Woods looks beautiful. I remember when I was young and our family drove through Boonville, my mom bought one of those Boontling dictionaries and tried to get us all to speak Boontling for days… 😂 🌼
Haha that’s so awesome your mom bought one of the books! 😂
Amazing content as always! Thank you guys!
Glad you liked it!
Used to do a commute from Ukiah to Fort Bragg miss that commute
Oh wow, I bet you know the area well!
We discovered this valley on our way to Fort Bragg and ultimately the Avenue of the Giants (which we visited because of one of your videos!). We didn't have much time, but did stop at a winery. Can't wait to go back and see more!
So awesome! I love all those places. Glad you got to see them!
2022 Boont Corner Tomme cheese won a blue ribbon for 2022. Great cheese. Thanks for the video.
That’s awesome! I didn’t know that
Amy is so beautiful. She looks like a nice person. I like the couple. They look so great each other.
Too bad you had to leave the day before it rained. Rainy days in AV are magical.
Ya it would have been fun to stay longer for sure!
Fun trip! U packed a lot into this visit.
We try to see as much as possible haha
Beautiful video!!
this video has fimally inspired me to share so much so much appreciated.
Really appreciate your support!
I wish I had known this place before I came back to Korea 2 years ago. What a beautiful place!
It really is a beautiful area!
Omg you stopped at my hometown Santa Rosa 🥺🥹
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
You should visit Julian, CA and they have nice orchards and apple pies.
I watched a lot of your video's that you did with your dad. I wish I had done that when my dad was alive. We made a couple of trips, but nothing like you have and I think it is awesome. I wanted to say also I have a small rv channel and I am learning from watching your video how to better my video style.
So awesome you have a channel as well, I will have to check it out
Glad you had a good time in the Anderson Valley! I used to go to Hendy Woods with my parents. Gowan’s was where we bought our apples to make pies and apple sauce every year. Anderson Valley is a beautiful little valley. Thanks for sharing.
So awesome! I would buy my apples there if I lived close as well!
Wow!! Incredible destination!!
We had a great time exploring the area and getting to know it a little
I already have my trip to the bay area planned for next month, but I am so tempted to chuck the plans and go to the Anderson Valley instead!
But, I'll just have to go back again for this valley...
Hope you have a great time in the Bay Area!
Hi Josh, I am a longtime viewer and love you channel. I am from Texas and I love california. I recently road trip from San Francisco to San Diego, and your videos were tremendous help. Let me know if you plan to come to San Antonio, I would love to meet you. Thanks!
So glad the content was helpful! Would love to visit San Antonio one of these days!
Been watching for awhile, just wanted to say I really enjoy your trips and look forward to your videos

Awesome video! Favorite part? Everything!
Haha glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment
Thanks! Very nice, and as usual, nicely done!
Thank you, appreciate the support!
Awesome video! You guys are the best!
Thank you for watching!
Anderson Valley IPA. For years on Beer Advocate rating was 100%. I checked a few years ago and I think it dropped to 90%. Doesn't seem to be as consistent, like they're trying for a MORE hoppy product. I still buy it weekly. And, thanks for the video! Thumbs up!
Oh wow! I should have tried it when I went. I had something else that was good though but I can’t remember what it was called
@@californiathroughmylens It's a great brewery. Oatmeal stout is my second fave. Right on Josh, safe travels.
Thank God that Amy survived the bear attack the first day. ha
Im so lucky i live like 2 hours from here..
If you make it to the northwestern lower peninsula of Michigan, there are dozens of wineries, vineyards and orchards to choose from, safest bet is taking the wine tour and leave the driving to someone else. Pretty sure northern California is the biggest competition for visitors.
Would love to visit that area! Hopefully in the future
@@californiathroughmylens you could save money by camping, but make sure you make your reservations a year ahead of time.
I’ve heard of Hendy woods but have never been. Thanks for the review. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Anderson valley snd I’m so impressed. Goat cheese and apple cider snd redwoods. How can you go wrong? Thanks for sharing this
Haha all the good things right??
Did you drive or fly for this trip?
Where are the babies????looks like a great trip.
Stayed with the grandparents haha
Go to fort ross
Hi, I am traveling to US two weeks later from now(just about 16days break from work) , I tried to search where to go and what to do in California and Im still confused, I will start my journey from San Francisco and I love to experience cabin stay in Alaska😀 sounds weird! Too far. There are many websites offering tourguide/ tour packages, but Ican't simply trust them since I'm going to travel alone for the first time and I'm worry. Could you please tell me which website is reliable to go through for getting local tours and do you advice me to visit Alaska on November? Oops my text is too long 😬 (I will delete my comment once I get the reply, thanks)
