Joe, this was absolutely amazing. I’ve been hoping from the beginning that you would interview Brad Paisley because the guitar shoptalk from two of the best players on the planet would be incredible. I was not disappointed. You asked great questions and Brad is certainly a good interview. It was awesome to have him demonstrate snippets of his music. You are both top-notch guitar players and it’s such a treat to get some of the inside stories.

I wasn't a fan of Brad's, dont listen to much country, so I didnt know much other than he was a stellar country player. Then his "Play" album came out, I heard it was mostly Instrumental, so I bought it. Been a fan since.

Almost bawled when he told the story of the guitar he got from the widow. Some months back I looked up who played guitar on "The Power of Love" thinking it might be Stevie Ray.😊🤭 I was overjoyed when I found out it WAS him on "Living In America."❤❤❣

Country and blue are so close. Of course there are drum lines an bass that differ, but the feeling is there. My old bass player brought back a Joe CD from a blues festival at Mohican. I listened to what was going on and fell in love with what Bonamassa was doing, been a fan ever since. The only country I can play i the new stuff, rockin country. I am not a laid back drummer, I wanna rock! Great interview here, Paisley really seems to know hi sh#t!

Great interview Joe. Talking of unsung heros, Buddy Whittington never seems to get a mention in this genre of music, yets he's a great songwriter, guitar player and singer that sits in the middle of blues/country style playing! Lets give it up for the Texas man who, after all, played as John Mayall's side mann for many years....!

Chris Hayes is a jazz melodic monster (if that's even a term). Used to play with freaking Pee Wee Elis before joining 'The News'.
Did some session work with Nick Lowe, The Four Tops and even Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott, and there's killer guitar in all of them.
A great songwriter too. Has even written a couple of songs for Robert Cray!
I'm just glad there's been a newfound appreciation to Chris lately, so thanks Brad!

I have been a Brad Paisley fan for a long time. Not just for his musical ability, but for him being a good human being. This podcast solidified that. I used to work with a guy that went to high school with Brad and he pretty much said the same thing. He would roll into jazz band and Brad would be noodling on the guitar and how amazing he was. Gentlemen, keep up the fantastic work.

I really loved the Don Rich part of the interview. I played with Nokie Edwards from when he was around 54 to the age of 60. He was telling me one night that Don was playing bass in Buck’s band when Nokie left to join the Ventures. That’s when Don switched to guitar. It’s amazing how two of the most influential guitarists of the modern rock and country era came out of Buck’s band. Not many people know this about Nokie but he had a pacemaker implant from before the time I knew him until he passed away. Really a super nice and incredibly humble guy who loved playing the guitar every chance he got.
