Nintendo know their audience and they know they don’t need to try Ironically, the same fanboys that have been bashing those that dared criticise Nintendo for its stagnation and lack of innovation are the same ones that now complain they got the iPhone of upgrades over their old switch.
I just bought a used oled switch (with box charging cables + HDMI) at $357.28 with 1 white pair of joycons and 1 pair of pink and green joycons. And powerA wired controller. Do you think that was a good deal?
Sounds like you saved a few bucks in taxes, got an extra pair of joycons that cost around $60 bucks, and a wired powerA controller is around $30 bucks, so yeah, that's a really good deal.
Wow thank you for the explanation i didnt knew about the differences at first after you explain all of that inside this video it make me interest on buying OLED
Meh, not for me already have one. Everything listed is just cosmetic changes. Third party games are starting to run terribly on the switch, too much is compromised to be called an enjoyable experience. However, if you don't own a switch it's a nice entry with all the changes mentioned.
yeah that goes with the territory doesn't it? I agree that the upgrades are kinda cosmetic and I agree that if you are making your first purchase then getting the upgrade is better, in the sense the model will be in service longer before a new design comes out. I think people who bought the base model later and all of the sudden this new model comes out, they probably feel cheated because they spent their life's savings out of the little piggy bank they had on their desk for ten years. If only they had delayed just a few more months that piggy bank would've paid off better. Now they feel what they have somehow been cheapened by the new kid on the block. Lol! I don't know if Nintendo does this but they should at least announce in advance of months to a year when they plan on bringing out a new design so people can be forewarned and decide to wait. But then again that would dig into their profits. Oh well. I actuality I was just thinking of purchasing the base model over the OLED, just to have, experience the base and then maybe purchase the OLED a few years down the road. It's kinda the way I do it with Mac books. I do it with the Macs that way because if I buy it later then by that time most of the defects and kinks are out of the system. It seems to work out fine that way. Waiting for an OLED later isn't really that much of a difference and I might have a change of heart by then to. People should learn to take their time in what they want in order to get the best quality out of their purchases. Especially when it comes to computer stuff.
It’s a nice updated model but it’s not a necessary upgrade if you play docked with a pro controller. I haven’t even touched the joycons since I bought my switch back in 2017 and I’ve got 1tb as card because we all know one accidental screenshot fills up it’s memory bank 😂
Well if you look at it that way then all I can say is 'you should've recognized the flaws in the base model 4 years ago and just waited'. The whole point of video gaming is 'are you happy with your current system?' You buy new clothes and shoes right? Do you complain about that? Oh and what about gas for the car and food on the table, not to mention rent. Welcome to the flawed human race. You know what I think people should do who aren't happy about gaming? Learn to code and make your own games. Gaming is not a need. It's a want. These are reality.
I'm getting Switch but i choose basic one not OLED. Because in my country i cant order it like you can for 350 dollars. Our shops get not directly from Nintendo so when they sell it price can go almost double. So O asked seller and je said here Basic Switch cost about 360euros and when OLED get here and he dont know even when it Is very possible to cost around 500e so i dont think its good invesment for small improvment so i choose Basic Switch
So heres a question. I used to play my handheld systems from Gameboy to New 3ds Xl on the go. Now when i take my switch out and on the go i usually have the sun washing out the screen. Will Oled provide better clarity in sunlight?
Depends on the Nits (peak brightness) of the display, if you want a glare free screen then find a screen protector with a matte finish instead of gloss, it’s anti reflective and looks better longer in my opinion
In 2017 the hardware was okish, in 2021 is just laughable, just take a look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Keeping my Switch for BOTW2 and getting the Deck as my main handheld console.
@Craig Adams let’s wait for the reviews, and then see how users report on it after a while. It looks great, but that doesn’t mean it will be the best or successful. Fingers crossed it turns out to be as good as seems and Valve finally have a hardware hit after their last 4 failures.
@It’s all Fun and Games it’s only on par with the PS4 in terms of GPU. It really is much superior in the CPU and RAM department and while yes, console optimisation is a thing, remember this has to render at only 800p for native image quality, significantly lower than the expected PS4 standard of 1080p.
Was literally about to buy my first Switch, then saw they were taking pre-orders for this. Think I’ll wait a month and get the OLED version then.. same price & better! 👌🏼
I am a heavy handheld player i never use the dock 😊. I am not a rich man but i am not on a small budget either. Only people i see complaining are you folks who dont work yet or those who play on the dock all the time.
If you mostly play on the go and hardly on TV then go with an oled but yeah as the guy has replied to you, just go with the original if ur playin on TV but it don't matter in the end.
Will Nintendo Switch games have better quality also on the TV screen with Nintendo Switch OLED console or only on the Nintendo Switch OLED console's screen?
The quality are the same, but OLED should have better quality because of the dock and OLED screen, mainly because oled has better RGB values, making games look sharper
even one wants the Switch Pro but that isn't coming anytime soon. It's probably the next generation. Nintendo is making profit with the Switch. It basically brought the company back into the console race. I didn't think that would even happen.
I'm don't have one nor do I plan on getting one until a major upgrade. Just pre ordered a steam deck though. More competition will mean better for us consumers
How is this competition if they’re both in different lanes. Ones is a dedicated portable console w/ exclusives and the other one is a portable gaming pc
Your choice. Just keep in mind the OLED is an 'upgrade' on the features. Research the videos to learn what the differences are. If you are happy with just the base model without the enhancements then you'll save about $50 or more dollars. The point is too start somewhere if you want to game. I simply started with the latest design when I bought, and then go from there. For some it's going to be about having the latest, for most it's going to be about budget. Being happy is the point of gaming.
So for fifty dollars they’re only giving us a ground link, .5” of screen, and the kickstand it should have had in the first place, great job Nintendo 🥳
Don't forget also better sound, more poppier colors on the screen and a better option to hookup to the Ethernet for multiple friend play. I love my OLED! Wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo created basic designs and let the public add to the design of whatever most of the public wanted? That would subdue most of the bitchiness against Nintendo and you could all blame each other. LOL!! You guys obviously didn't recognize the flaws when you bought the first design. LOL!
So your telling me I should just keep my Nintendo switch cause the only change I would use is the big screen cause the other things are irrelevant to me
In short: Playing on TV? Old switch is cheaper and the same. Playing handheld only? Just get the cheaper Switch Lite. REALLY want a 7" screen for handheld? OLED.
It's an optional system. You can take it on the road with you or play it on the big screen. In the past we didn't have that option. It was all console or nothing. And the consoles ended up in the closet lost and forgotten until the yard sale came along to give it retro life again.
@@thecunninlynguist well an upgrade would make it too big to be portable to a wide audience. Now the lite is out, why make a pro portable? I think if they do it, it will be a docked only model. Or no dock at all, it'll be like a new wii
In one video there seems to still be a problem with playing with friends via Ethernet if that's what you mean? Even with the OLED. Those problems still haven't been resolved according to what I saw and I'm not exactly sure what the details of those problems might be. I'm buying it just for the upgrades alone as far as sound, screen size and what appears to be more poppier colors on the screen. Plus there is the wider back stand and what may be a better dock for the handheld. Plus I believe it was the memory that has been DOUBLED on this system from the old one which would accommodate more games as some need a lot of memory it seems. You'll want to look into that one a little more.

Those differences don’t mean anything doesn’t mean it’s going to play any better then the first Switch Sega needs to make a comeback so Nintendo will upgrade their consoles Sega didn’t need Nintendo to make their Sega consoles more powerful Sega does it that Nintendo doesn’t
There is a reason Sega didn't survive. You are talking 1980's pal. LOL!
If you don't like Nintendo? Then don't play it. Problem solved!
@@hughdismuke4703 Hello what year did you say Sega last console was 1980? The Dreamcast was their last console I suggest you go do a search I own every Sega console ever made dude the Sega consoles were a lot better then Nintendo and PlayStation consoles in graphics and power also don’t expect a mini Dreamcast any soon pal it’s powerful as the original xbox and PS2 consoles that have success will not be coming in mini sizes
Hey Sam do you hate Nintendo I don’t see anywhere you said you hated Nintendo all I see you said Nintendo needs to improve their power and graphics I see no words you said you hated Nintendo let me know you have someone attacking you and you need to respond
@@hughdismuke4703 please tell me Ms teacher 👩🏫 my teacher is back baby!!!!! 😂 😆 😝 in a few years Nintendo will be gone
@@hughdismuke4703 lol 😂 Nintendo can’t compete with xbox and PlayStation if Sega was here they would compete Sega made consoles after another while Nintendo was stuck on one like how long did it take Nintendo to make a 16 bit console then Sega releases a Sega CD then a 32x made the Sega Genesis look more amazing you must be one of the kids who has parents that are refusing to buy you the Xbox series X and PS5 or a gaming PC Alienware with the 3090 Ti graphics card to why you would even say Nintendo is that great we’re not in the 80’s anymore we’re in 2022
I've already pre ordered mine
however with a more " serious " view on the unit I think it isn't a fantastic deal and the " upgrades " isn't really worth going out to get one ( when out )
the bigger screen and display is what I like most about it
the stand doesn't matter as I own a metal Zelda themed stand that I use with my current switch
I don't play docked mode much but that ethernet port might help with downloads
better sound ? maybe if it has a better " stereo " sound maybe
I gotta say i wasn’t thrilled at the announcement of the oled switch but having procured the last preorder available @ my local GameStop I’m wholeheartedly looking forward 2 playing it in Oct
Nintendo know their audience and they know they don’t need to try
Ironically, the same fanboys that have been bashing those that dared criticise Nintendo for its stagnation and lack of innovation are the same ones that now complain they got the iPhone of upgrades over their old switch.
Some people will never be happy no matter what you give them.
I have a xbox one s and for Christmas this year I want to get a ps5 and the nintendo switch OLED
You have a small error, you mention the price of a basic SWITCH as $29.99 instead of $299.99
… there’s only 1 and it’s the screen?
Not spending $350 on a device that should have been released 4 years ago
SMART MAN👏
Well if you look at it that way then all I can say is 'you should've recognized the flaws in the base model 4 years ago and just waited'. The whole point of video gaming is 'are you happy with your current system?'
You buy new clothes and shoes right? Do you complain about that? Oh and what about gas for the car and food on the table, not to mention rent. Welcome to the flawed human race.
You know what I think people should do who aren't happy about gaming? Learn to code and make your own games. Gaming is not a need. It's a want. These are reality.
🤣🤣🤣 truly all I think is the game industry is trying to give us as little as possible and charge us more just seeing wat they can get away with SMFH
@It’s all Fun and Games The Steam deck is 10x as powerful as a switch and costs $50, dont put out misinformation
Planned obsolescence is in every industry.
Don’t think so
Depends on the Nits (peak brightness) of the display, if you want a glare free screen then find a screen protector with a matte finish instead of gloss, it’s anti reflective and looks better longer in my opinion
I was wondering the same thing but doubt it would be different.
Yeah it will
In 2017 the hardware was okish, in 2021 is just laughable, just take a look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Steam Deck specs confirmed.
Was literally about to buy my first Switch, then saw they were taking pre-orders for this. Think I’ll wait a month and get the OLED version then.. same price & better! 👌🏼
It's meant to cost another 100 quid isn't It?
I just wanna know how to get that $29.99 switch.
That production cost 🤣
Wow, we went from a 6.2inch screen to a 7inch oled! I will happily keep my noled switch.
Haha I wonder what their next updates going to be ? 😂
Whatever makes you happy. That's what gaming is about.
I think I’m gonna buy this for the Ethernet port, the WiFi in my room is garbage .-.
I am a heavy handheld player i never use the dock 😊. I am not a rich man but i am not on a small budget either. Only people i see complaining are you folks who dont work yet or those who play on the dock all the time.
PS5 *Switch edition*
I upgraded from lite
frames are still gonna drop like they couldn’t boost the clock or more ram or SOMETHING??????
Preordered it, can’t wait
I don't have any kind of switch yet but I'm thinking of getting one. Should I get the original or OLED?
If you planning on playing it on tv get the old one
@@Wishmaster145 thank you
If you mostly play on the go and hardly on TV then go with an oled but yeah as the guy has replied to you, just go with the original if ur playin on TV but it don't matter in the end.
If it’s your first time get the OLED, you’ll love the battery life, extended space storage and more focused RGB values
I have the 1st gen switch. I can’t wait to get the oled model!
Imagine not having the original Switch since 2017?
I learned nothing
Will Nintendo Switch games have better quality also on the TV screen with Nintendo Switch OLED console or only on the Nintendo Switch OLED console's screen?
The quality are the same, but OLED should have better quality because of the dock and OLED screen, mainly because oled has better RGB values, making games look sharper
no upgrades this year?
even one wants the Switch Pro but that isn't coming anytime soon. It's probably the next generation. Nintendo is making profit with the Switch. It basically brought the company back into the console race. I didn't think that would even happen.
Switch pro? Where did you hear that at?
Why is 720p more than good enough on this Nintendo 7 inch screen, but would not be even close to good enough on a 6.5 inch phone screen?
Nintendo switch fans are easy to please, that’s one thing you’ll learn in life
I have ps5 never owned a switch should I get the oled version??
I mean, I don’t see why you would but if it’s your first time then yeah get the OLED
Oled is not that big of a improvement specially on such a small screen plus the games look equally shitty and the resolution is the same
If you don’t own one yet go oled. If you already do don’t waste your money.
I'm don't have one nor do I plan on getting one until a major upgrade. Just pre ordered a steam deck though. More competition will mean better for us consumers
You mean the Early-Access Steam Deck. :D
How is this competition if they’re both in different lanes. Ones is a dedicated portable console w/ exclusives and the other one is a portable gaming pc
The newer model will benefit the first time buyer for sure.
So is it worth waiting for the new one or can I try the present one
Your choice. Just keep in mind the OLED is an 'upgrade' on the features. Research the videos to learn what the differences are. If you are happy with just the base model without the enhancements then you'll save about $50 or more dollars. The point is too start somewhere if you want to game. I simply started with the latest design when I bought, and then go from there. For some it's going to be about having the latest, for most it's going to be about budget. Being happy is the point of gaming.
i Love my OG switch Unpatched
So for fifty dollars they’re only giving us a ground link, .5” of screen, and the kickstand it should have had in the first place, great job Nintendo 🥳
That's exactly what i said lol
Don't forget also better sound, more poppier colors on the screen and a better option to hookup to the Ethernet for multiple friend play. I love my OLED!
Wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo created basic designs and let the public add to the design of whatever most of the public wanted? That would subdue most of the bitchiness against Nintendo and you could all blame each other.
LOL!!
You guys obviously didn't recognize the flaws when you bought the first design. LOL!
Not worth buying really switch pro or new console is needed switch needs more power
So your telling me I should just keep my Nintendo switch cause the only change I would use is the big screen cause the other things are irrelevant to me
In short:
Playing on TV? Old switch is cheaper and the same.
Playing handheld only? Just get the cheaper Switch Lite.
REALLY want a 7" screen for handheld? OLED.
Finally PS5 and Xbox X has a new Nintendo competition
🧐🧐🧐
I have a switch lite, and am heavily thinking about getting this, do you guys think it’s worth it ?
Yep
the original joy cons do not work?
Having an OLED TV eliminates the need for this new version. If they went for better hardware then MAYBE
It's an optional system. You can take it on the road with you or play it on the big screen. In the past we didn't have that option. It was all console or nothing. And the consoles ended up in the closet lost and forgotten until the yard sale came along to give it retro life again.
I think the switch pro will be the oposit of the switch lite and will be a dock only device
so a PSTV?
@@thecunninlynguist well an upgrade would make it too big to be portable to a wide audience. Now the lite is out, why make a pro portable? I think if they do it, it will be a docked only model. Or no dock at all, it'll be like a new wii
its kinda sad that my country sells it for 800$
PS Vita had an OLED ages ago lol
Sold my switch a while ago, trying to figure out how I can play pokemon unite on the steam deck lol. Pre ordered an oled just in case though.
I’m thinking abt getting a switch and i’m not sure if I want the OLED or original, I play all modes quite often with friends. What do you guys think?
Vid didn't really reveal a whole lot, but ok -
Yea I pre ordered this in white but ima cancel it and just stick with my switch lite.
Nintendo Switch OLED available at a scalper near you
Got the oled a month ago, its oretty good tho its my 1st switch i dont have a real. Comparison, im having more fun on it compared to the other consoles tho, idk why, feels like stuff like splatoon is just a fun game devoid of modern gaming crqp like. Monetization or sjw shit, like sony was at the start of ps4
Allow me to save everyone 8 minutes.
1. Games will slightly look better in handheld but not much
2. The guts are pretty much the same
3. Has a LAN port now... gee thanks
4. A bigger kick stand thingy ZOMG?!
5. Massive 64gb storage. Its basically a super computer now! Thanx 'tendo!
6. And ofcourse constant releases of brand new IPs and sequels... er.... applestore games and bad ancient af ports
7. Tokyo Joycon Drift 2 BABY!
8. Comes in white.
9. Audio jack? pfftt
10. Look at my big dock. Much bigger than your last bfs >>
But hey! Slightly bigger screen!
Thank fuck SMTV is coming out this year, just in time to give the switch a reason to continue living.
29.99 is wild
Lol I’ve been saying switch old 😂
Anyone know what the platform game with the jetpack and shooting at beginning of the video is called?
Metroid Dread? I believe that’s what you’re referring too?
Thanks for the great video
