I love Croydon! It's so amazing with the trams I love taking. And by the way, buses are also a reliable way but I think the Overground is the best service on the planet. Make more trams, TfL, I want your city to be very unique. Make tram stops in Central London.
I find it funny how the CR4000 trams have the line number to the right of the destination "Wimbledon 3", while the Variobahnen have it on the left "4 Therapia Lane". I visited London over Easter and our hotel was directly next to Wellesley Road tram stop, sadly it was closed when we were there
El viaje en tranvía de Alicante a Benidorm en España es un viaje muy boniito. En el centro de Alicante los tranvías son subterráneous. También parte del recorrído es al lado de la playa.
Comrade Charlotte they had double decker trams!?!?!??!?!?!?! That’s fucking awesome, nowadays theres fucking health and safety u have to pay like 30 quid for an open bus which used to be free and used daily
Articulated trams are far superior. Double decker models are largely a relic when trying to join different sections was more difficult. Articulated trams load and unload faster, don't have stairs to go up and down, and can carry more people (no standing on the top level), and are guided by the track anyway
@@brokenbritain1930 it has nothing to do with health and safety (after all, we have double decker buses) and all to do with practicality, and the reason you have to pay more for open top buses is because they're only used for tourist buses. Why are they not used for regular bus runs? Because rain exists. The rain means that the bus will fill with water which will corrode the bus, and no one will want to ride on the top when it's cold or raining, which means that half the time no one will want to go up there
And I thought I was the only person making films in Croydon. Someone will watch this when cars fly and their are colonies on Mars and say weren't they primitive
I wish are bus system was this efficient our bus system goes everywhere but yet it doesn't go anywhere inconvenient bus stops you have to walk a block or more to get to your destination.
stuart balchin It's not bad, it's just got a bad reputation. You can visit there many times and not have a single bad experience. Having been there myself many times I'd know haha.
Tanki Divide In central Croydon the trams are running in a "loop", so the trams are passing through different parts depending on which direction their going in. Check out the London Tube map and you will see how I mean.
The point is simple. Before the trams to get to Wimbledon by road took anything up to two hours at busy times. With the trams it became a guaranteed journey time (at any time) of 25 minutes. No the buses do not go faster than that.
Health and safety is pathetic, if I was gonna build a city it would have super high speed trams like roller coasters in the air going above the city, none of this slow rubbish
They built a light rail system not a city! Croydon is a bit older than Tramlink and given the topography, an overhead system would certainly have been like a roller coaster - not a lot of good for most passengers!
That's because of the law. This is a light rail system and is governed by the Railway Inspectorate - they do put a lot of store by Health and Safety. Those who do not are generally either reckless, or simply not the people who have to take the responsibility when things go horribly wrong.
I remember when it was being built, caused all sorts of chaos, everyone thought it would be a white elephant, how wrong they were
Thanks for the word of the day
am a big fan of train and tram videos. i really like this too. thx
Nice video! Glad to hear the trams having actual bells instead on an electronic recording! It was also nice to see some Signle level buses!
I used to get these all the time as a kid. The nestle building.. Fairfield Hall. Gah the good times. I nearly forgot about surrey street!
I'm in love with trams! Trams are the greatest invention of the 19-20 -eth century!

Unique? Many cities around the world have trams.
The streets are too small
Lovely shots from the bustling streets of Croydon.
Great video! I was in Croydon today.
I really enjoyed this video. No bombastic music or comentary. Perfect!

Dope! Always round these ways. Remember them in the 90s and now, how times have changed!
Jacob Jesuthasan the trams began in may of 2000?
@@tobeytransport2802 there were more trams a long time ago. Not in Croydon only but like everywhere. Now its replaced by the buses.

Amazing video Luftschlange! Keep up the amazing work!
I remember seeing a video where a car slammed into a tram on Wellesley road, the tram literally derailed
That's evidence the rails are safe from any currents that may cause death though
2:39 how small do you want the middle part to be? the tram: yes
These trams are amazing!
Like the sound of the first fleet😊
Thanks ..1984 ..i was east croydon ....from seoul

Riding a Variobahn in Croydon will be quite interesting. Helsinki are giving up theirs.
Croydon gave up theirs. Then they had Trolley buses until 1959, then gave those up too. Forty years later - Tramlink!
I like how it accelerates
ive loved croydon since i was a kid im now 13
im 15 now lol
These are the same trams that are used on line 22 and line 12 here in Stockholm the only difference being that they are in a different colour.
Nope
Schönes Video
Haha, I got this video and a tram video from Melbourne in my subscriptions at the same time! I can't help but watch both and compare which is better.
The other video is from ThebusofdoomFSX
Tanki Divide lol I watch his vids
Which is better?
Melbourne is much bigger
Choo Choo: I'm a train and I approve this video
The only thing we will never have is a driverless tram. Even driverless vehicles are still very obviously rare right now.
DLR has been driverless since it was opened.
driverless vehicles are tested on motorways in Germany; They also have driverless subway trains already
@@paulanderson79 and the DLR is not a tram
I think they're a way off still, but I think it would be easier to make a tram driverless than a car or bus

what I mean*
Tanki Divide the trams go to Wimbledon out of Croydon the other trams change routes so that there destination is complete
Tanki Divide theres a loop
it's just like oneway street.the one that goes back is another side of the blocks.
Nice 👍
Old tram don't end
Sometimes I take the trams to school
is it cheap rate fare ?
£1.50 flat fare and can be used with the bus hopper woth oyster or contactless
Yes it’s only £1.50 single or £4.50 but you need to use oyster or contactless, they don’t take cash on the London tram

as long as you don't choose the longest bus vs the shortest trams, a tram usually has a much greater passenger capacity
