I fell for that trap 11 years ago.
The duviri paradox quest used to be a starting point for new players who started warframe during the release of the quest. Thats right if you started a new account during the release of the duviri paradox release you would of been presented with two paths one being the vanilla regular start or the other starting you right in to the duviri paradox quest. Meaning you would been able to meet your Drifter character way before you met your operator. Eventually DE removed the split starting path because they wanted to experiment with the new player experiance. Its why you get the three starter frames during the quest and it feels like your starting all over again.
Yeah I actually started with duviri
And this is why I do not agree with the whole "Don't touch Duviri until after New War" argument. It was intended as a STARTING POINT for new players and the regular circuit is one of the best QoL features in the game for new players as it allows them to farm entire frames (with an included augment) entirely without drop-chance RNG all while using loaner-weapons and frames with fully upgraded (but admittedly non-meta) mod loadouts. This is a chance to experiment and try out new frames while farming a new one they wouldn't have access to for a long while.
Now I understand the argument about how the story "doesn't make sense"... but people need to remember not all stories make sense at the start and that's OK. It is a perfectly valid literary technique to drop the reader/audience into a story that's already begun and expect them to piece together what's happening from context clues as they go. Lord of the Rings doesn't give you the whole history of Middle Earth from the start, Harry Potter doesn't explain why Harry is special for a several chapters, Star Wars started with Episode 3 and opens with a battle already in progress, etc. We're SUPPOSED to be confused and to ask questions as we go through. We're SUPPOSED to have "Ah-Ha!" moments later in the story as we realize what it was we saw or experienced earlier.
If I was to adjust it at all, it would be to have Duviri unlock right after Second Dream as a compromise between not spoiling the nature of Warframes as "puppets" for the operator and not waiting until New War for the reveal of he Drifter. But this comes with the caveat that I want more story quests (based on the lore and dialogue of old events) to be added into the game leading up to Neptune. Who are the bosses you fight before then? Who is Teshin and why do we care about him?
It wasnt "intended", it was only an experiment @@Fyrefrye

@deathstalker6094 same here. It keeps me excited for the upcoming updated to answer questions or build upon previous updates
I’m surprised by the fact that most big destiny 2 RUclipsrs are now moving to warframe, but I feel like this is for the better
Wait which other big D2 youtubers are playing Warframe?
LUCKYY 10P, sweatcicle (streamed it recently), and a few other RUclipsrs
I really doubt any of them are full on switching to warframe, that’d be too big of a risk (this is how they make their living after all), but i do appreciate that atleast cross is giving it a genuine try. Expanding your perspective over the genre is always a good idea even if you end up back where you started
@@chmobro9949Cross' first Warframe video was sponsored, he just digged the game well enough and seeing as though D2 is having a dip right now he has just continued playing it.
I wouldn't be surprised if all the other creators you're talking about were also sponsored for one stream or video and then never came back to it, but I'm happy to be proven wrong
Cross is not really moving to Warframe, as much as I'd like that. He is having the opportunity to try truly great video games now, but as soon as new content gets added in D2 he will shift his focus to it again. Be he has shown a lot of appreciation for Warframe, we'll probably get a mix of content from both games from now on.

Chat is so annoying, backseating like crazy and then getting mad when he does what they say
It was his mods
@@ironwolfsaber2739 thing is, most of the mods he has dont even have 500 hours in the game, they dont know shit. Saddens me to see his experience being sent everywhere except in the right direction
And some of us in his discord are sitting at LR1-4 and have 3,000 hours in Warframe. But hey he seems to be enjoying himself, though he gets visibly flustered sometimes
It's not just his mods lmao but hes fine with it glad hes enjoying it but is lil upsetting how chat thinks of the game. Glad he's finally playing duviri the gatekeeping of it by chat was getting annoying. It for some reason reminds me of the toxic side of the d2 community...... And a small part of the Warframe community that are just complete meta slaves and dictate what others do...
To be fair "Chat" isn't a hivemind lol. It's a collection of different groups of people, some more vocal than others. It falls on Cross to decide which one to listen to or his mods.
As someone that played the game since 2016, I always felt like there is content drought after a while of a new update being out.
But now I see that, for a new player, there is an absolute shitload of content to do.
Just the story takes forever lol. But I'm enjoying watching this journey.
as a WF vet im so happy to watch your journey
Truth
Huh I just noticed that the spiral switches to anger straight after teshins death, telling you that the drifter is now the ruler of Duviri.
Technically you've always been ruler of Duviri
Or that Thrax is angry the Drifter isn't doing what he wants. The mood continues to shift following Thrax's dialogue up until the end.

Cross, your Warframe experience seems like it's been so heavily railroaded by Chat that it makes me sad. You've missed out on so many other layers to mechanics and parts of the game that can really help the experience (Case and point - You discovering your ability to switch to Drifter during 1999 today. You've been able to do this for a long while now, but Chat so often backseated that it seems like it never came up during regular gameplay). I'm glad that you've been enjoying the game, and loved getting to see The New War from your POV without first being tainted by Duviri (as I did Duviri before even passing Deimos), but looking into some other systems within the game may be really enlightening.
THIS
Yeah sometimes I wish he just ignore chat and just be blind for a while, I've been around for 10 years and through all that I rarely looked up anything, the surprise Warframe gives you is just on another level
I watched the majority of his streams (as I've been wanting him to dig into this game for yeasr), and although chat did spam him with some bad info, his discovering today that he was able to switch to Drifter didn't matter at all, and didn't hinder anything from the best part of the game, which he's been focusing on. The STORY of this game has risen to the top of the list as being the coolest thing in it, and most of the other stuff, the game modes, the systems, the zones, the side activities, etc., he's seen most of the best parts of those things as well. Now that he's through the majority of the main quest line, which he got through without a lot of the bells and whistles (that chat was bugging him to do, and I'm glad he didn't do many of them), NOW he can focus on filling in the holes, making a better build, farming for new gear, etc. etc. ALL of which he has all the time in the world to do.
And there's still little sidequests and scenes. Lots of stuff he hasn't fathom. It's crazy.
@@RedShadowOfSaturnA perfectly fair counter point :) while it's not a hugely impactful mechanic story-wise, felt mentioning it helped show where I was coming from as Focus Schools further opens up additional build crafting levels and gameplay loops. Cross getting into the story's fantastic, and the nitty gritty *can* come later, so long as Cross knows said nitty gritty exists. I've watched a good chunk of what he's put out, along with the bigger streams, but don't think I could call what I've seen the majority as of yet, so you've got me there.
Duviri is cool but what always gets me is how personal the game got. The game always talked about our emotions in a more interpretative way but Duviri? Nah, let's talk about the depression of the kid Drifter in the Zariman and at the same time talk to YOU. DE is like "How do you feel in your spiral? Happy? Angry? Never seeing a end and always geting pushed back to the beginning? Almost giving up but just existing praying to something significant change?" Shit gets so real man
And the music theme is a fucking banger as always (but in opera!)
The only way to fight the indeference is with emotions
Ah yes, the quest where the Drifter learned how to BEGIN. AGAIN!
So i never fully got why all the hate for Duviri. I thought it was pretty good
Same, I absolutely love duviri since day one of its release
Some people don't like Duviri because they think Warframe needs to be "all Warframes, all the time, and ANYTHING that deviates from that is bad." They think the game needs to be lightning speed, hyper fast room nuking, etc. Forgetting that, for example, games like Destiny have tried to add more consequence and difficulty by just nerfing the entire character kit which is ALWAYS a bad idea. I'd rather have developers add things like this that DOESN'T disrupt existing progression but still adds DIFFERENT styles of difficulty.
At launch was unplayable because of bugs and bad optimization, that left a bad first impression but duviri is some of the best content warframe has to offer, including circuit
That's kind of the issue. It is pretty good. But 'pretty good' when DE had been hyping it up for actual years at that point was a let down.
The duviri hate is mostly on people who start with it first before mainline quests.
The Duviri Paradox intro has changed since I did it. looks cool.
This was the intro always???
@@chippler5822I think it used to force a replay when jumping over the bridge with the horse the first time. Could have been a cut in editing but it didn’t seem like that here
I've never done the Duvari quest before. But I have done the Duviri quest
I see what you did there, but then I don’t.
Times Cross' stream broke and suddenly a ton of plats goes to his account: 2
I like how he genuinely is enjoying the game and how he asked the chat for help with what quests to do and helping him out with the game.
Cool content creator and cool fan base.
The most evil chat/mods of any streamer ever. Pure sabotage and hate
The lore of duvri(as far as I understand it)
As a precursor jnformation leading up to the Zariman jump Albrects daughter created the tales of duviri (remembered from stories told to her by her father Albrecht) as a means of teaching children to control their emotions because strong emotions affect the void and can and will result in 'something' manifesting.
When the operator made the deal with the man in the wall, nearly all your alternate lives was exterminated, save one. That being the drifter.
The operator became a child soldier in service to the orokin and the drifter remained a prisoner of the void (because eternalism is a thimg in this universe) and as a means of survival latched onto the tales of duviri and manifested the lands of duviri through anger, joy, jealousy etc.
For a time all was well until the drifter began to grow up some and Dominis Thrax (one of the characters from the tales of duviri and a manifestationof the drifters mind) tried to maintain the status quo leading to the cycle of execution/restarts the drifter went through at the start of the quest.
The start of the quest itself coincides with the new war hence the sword through the back at the new war section (you know the bit i mean) and the start of the quest are at the same time.
Just one of several story beats in the ongoing story of warframe.
It's actually explained in the dating sim in 1999 when the hex members ask you about it. I won't say any more cause spoilers.
I just realise "the hand" was THE hand from a certain lady chopped of by a certain villian.
Teshin may be retired in the Duviri “heaven” but he will always be our mentor.
he isnt dead anymore, didnt you see how drifter turned back time?
I took a huge break from Warframe last year, and you got me back into it. Thanks, Cross!
'What Is This Game' always gets me hype when I see creators getting blown away
Duviri was just important to do after second dream/new war since it can "spoil" events in that, but I dont think delaying it any further would matter
1:05:39 To be fair, back then you can explain Warframe as just a "Ninjas in space".
No kidding, that's the best explanation. After all, you getting better at being a "space ninja" improves a lot your enjoyment of warframe.
The Duviri weapons and the place as a whole have such a nice aesthetic. Not to mention Kullervo being such a rad frame.
Im loving this journey of yours on Warframe, so glad to see the community growing 🔥🙌🏻❤️
as someone whos played both for over 10 years each. I love how both games existed simultaneously. its sad to see destiny die a slow painful death. but I'm glad we still have warframe going strong
It still feels so weird that duviri is an alternate start to the game.
It kinda hurts the second dream's impact and the story is confusing without context from the later quests.
im really enjoying watching Cross play Warframe while being backseated by chat, its very entertaining. keep up the good stuff man, glad you finally found this game

@The_One_Winged_Raccoon how tf is he supposed to know 😂 they’re alot of dumb warframe players. i mean look at cross’s chat…
i wouldnt be surprised if this dude isnt joking.
I've been playing Warframe since 2017. As far as hobby games go, once a player can handle the movement, it's truly unmatched. The gameplay is fun. They're not afraid to try new activities and different genres. When I played The Second Dream completely blind, I was in. They went beyond what I expected from a f2p game, and just gave us a good game. Long-term players are rewarded for staying along for the ride, and they understand that players will take breaks. We can take 1-2 years off or even longer, and pick right back up where we left off. I put my Drifter in the Goth outfit and tried to color match Eris Morn. She goes along well with my Dreaming City Citrine and Savathun Nyx FashionFrames. 😉
With respect to chat and commenters, but I took several hours to complete The New War. I don't skip cutscenes and walk instead of run to find clues/secrets, etc. Take your time, Aztecross. I hope you enjoy your time in Warframe.
So awesome you are playing warframe glad you seem to be enjoying it
WF's time loops > D2's time loops
1:05:38 "You know, Warframe is a very difficult game to explain to someone. What is Warframe? i guess that's why the common reply is 'Just play it' "
And that's why we look to other games like members of a "cult", you mentioned that a few months ago. That we appear "a little culty".
A way that Warframe always keep fresh to me is that I go play Railjack, maybe get bored, so then go to grind a little in some of the open areas. Or I do the usual activity of cracking relics to collect shiny stuff, or spend a few hours deciding how to break the game with a new combination of warframe, weapons and mods.
Assuming its not been cut from the video, its good that they removed the repeat of the movement tutorial, cause it makes no sense now Duviri isnt an alternate start.
I loved the duvari story.
Youre doing great cross, keep it up
Just started playing WF and I have no clue what I’m doing . Enjoying a lot .
❤ use a shawzin u gonna love it ❤
The people begging him not play Duviri can kick rocks, the quest is entirely set up to be played either right before or right after New War, theres no arguing it, theres no putting it off, it makes the most narrative sense when played in conjunction with New War. You can literally feel the events of New War play out as you progress through Duviri.
Also, Duviri is apart of the endgame, so yall really gonna make him not complete the content he needs to to get to the content you want him to play.
He said he's glad he did NW first, duviri was released after NW anyway
I think they were annoyed he didn't do angels first because of release order, but I personally don't care lol

We need a warframe review specifically aimed at destiny players. Comparisons, pros/cons etc.
No you don't because they really are nothing a like. They both are grindy games. That's the ONLY comparison lil bro
Why? Destiny has done such a good job at killing itself. There's no need to compare a great overall game to a money grubbing shit show.
@@itskxrda7080 a lot of destiny players, including aztecross have made the jump so it definitely seems to appeal to the same fan base, I think it would be interesting to see why….lil bro
@SlackWi if this big jump happened, then why didn't warframes numbers skyrocket?
Even with the 1999 update, the numbers really didn't change much and there's 90% of the destiny audience missing from this equation.
Jump also assumes that they don't play destiny anymore, something cross clearly does to great success on youtube.
I really don't get where this "jump" is coming from. Warframe and destiny are both good/bad in their own ways but the destiny x warframe stuff as always muddled the water in 2 very different games
Short version- alot of people left destiny and barely any of them went to warframe. Some of which still playing destiny.
I’m so glad you’re into WF now
It's so nice to see someone experiencing peak for the first time
Everytime he says Duvari, I die a bit
The bots are as annoying as Ballas.
Honestly, every time a Destiny creator starts playing Warframe, the Destiny Team probably has, like, a vigil or something, say a prayer for their fallen creators as they are guided to the Warframe light. Your presence likely guided a ton of new Tenno to Warframe as well.
Also, I might be wrong, but I think Soulframe might be in the same Universe, but in a different place at a different time. I'm not 100% sure, but I've been trying to figure that out.
Soulframe is a new IP in a standalone world, completely disconnected from the Warframe universe
It’s currently standalone. But Steve said in the latest dev shorts that the team aren’t 100% against eventually linking the two in some way. But for now they are entirely separate
Cross saying Du-vah-ree instead of Du-vee-ree is still disconcerting to me, but then again he is dyslexic.
Did this man use Ash yet is my question…….peak ninja work!!!

No, seriously, to understand Warframe, you'll need to just play it. That's how I learned every detail about the lore and story. Like things were definitely confusing, but it always felt like that confusion was the intention of the writing, keep you confused so you'll be interested in more when later you may just get your answers.

I think it's funny that you missed the chance to customize the Drifter both during New War and after it
The people telling you not to do Duviri after you already did new war are driving me insane, those people have no idea what they're talking about lmao
Why does the intro to the Duvari quest go soooo hard ?
why nobody tell him about MR rank up? why's he not doing it asap
it doesn’t matter to much now to do it asap, since there is no cooldown now to how fast you can rank up and also inf. practicing
I like duviri as a new player but it does seem like it gets repetitive real fast

How it feels to chew 5 gum.
he should have played this first and then the second dream and then the new war and been like what the hell
Has cross finished deimos and installed helminth yet?
So Teshin got sucked into the void too long with lotus and the operator
to bad that no one told cross that after the quest's (story) there's nothing more to do than repeat bounties and nodes for weapons and frameparts. so repeat the same over and over and over again 🤔
Who the hell is this guys community that made him finish the second story arc without doing the story mission that introduces what is effectively the main character of the final act. Absolute muppets.

Thing is, as soon a streamer takes his time, chat is gonna scream and complain like hell (just think back to when he decided to actually grind the necramech)
He’s approaching it like Destiny or a lot of games where you’d think you’d want to rush all the story to get to the endgame grind.
But Warframe is a bunch of grinds that happen between the story, which is unlike many games.
