#1, I know EXACTLY how you feel about this tool. I feel the same way about my Milwaukee M4 1/4" Hex Screwdriver, and I own a LOT of tools as well. #2, It's very nice of you to take the trouble to post these videos, and over and above to post this second video for the sake of the idiots who apparently can't appreciate this bargain marvel. #3, can't wait to get my hands on one! Damn things are very hard to acquire at this point in time, and price has gone up quite a bit since you purchased yours. Never the less, I will soon own at least one. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
Thank you for the kind comment. Those are rare. Haha. I have two of them now (picked one up on OfferUp for $40). They’re great little tools that have a great place in any workflow.
prices are high for real, only buy what you need and what keeps food on the table.
My friend bought me this screwdriver for my birthday!!! I hate reading directions. That's why I'm here!
This tool definitely has its place in between screwgun and screwdriver. I paid $74 with 1 battery and charger. Great for hanging blinds, fixtures, pictures and taking apart things with lots of screws. It is not a necessity, but most things aren’t.
Looking to get one of these for my wife because she keeps buying shit from Wayfair. I'm looking at this test to 'drive a screw into a 2x4' thinking, "What kind of person is trying to drive screws with any screwdriver, let alone a mechanical one?" Get a drill you bums.
This really helped though. Your bit with the electrical plate was great because I was wondering if upgrading to the version with the clutch and rotating handle may be worth it and I think it might.
Great video! Great tool for a painter who removes many outlet and light covers! 👍
I have one and it is great for repairing small electrical/electronic devices. It can be gentle and precise in removing/installing screws, if you are gentle in wrist action. Thumbs up!
Really good review - thanks. I was impressed from your other vid with the screwdriver, but I also liked in this one the explanation for some of the bits in the set, ie which I've come across elsewhere and have been too dim to make use of - now I'll look at them afresh!
Just bought one and love it!
Thank you, I was looking for something like this for my son for his birthday. He's an aviation technician and expressed the need for something like this as they do not allow the use of drill drivers as they exert too much torque.
Thanks for the review!
Just ordered. Thanks.
Significantly advanced technology appears as magic. Great Review!
Great video, Great demonstrations! I use that in the automotive field, mainly for dash work/in the passenger compartment so I have a clean tool. I dont have to drag an air hose or use a oily/greasy ratchet in the vehicle. I also have Wera and DEWALT bit sets that I only use in the cab for the same reasons,
Yeah. I’m starting to finally understand why people have so many sets of tools. Glad to see I’m not alone in loving this screwdriver.
Great review. Def going to buy it.
Well done review....thank you.
A Couple Of Years Ago I bought
A 4 Volt Ryobi Cordless Screwdriver.
& I Use It To Drive Nuts & Screws
& Light Duty Drilling.
I Hardly Ever Use It. But If I Ever Do
Need It It Sure Comes In Handy.
How do you turn off the LED Work light without disassembling the screwdriver???
Please consider doing a review on the flashlight that uses the same Dewalt battery
Thanks for the video
Pretty pointless to expect this tool to drive wood screws or drill holes. We should all know what kind of tool does those tasks. 12v on up. Clearly this tool was designed to perform repeated light duty tasks to ease the muscular strain of manual operating. I have a Milwaukee Fuel hammer drill for HD tasks. I also have a much lighter Makita that can drill and drive like a champ for half a day. I’ve also had quite a few other 18v brands through the years that have delivered varying degrees of longevity. Interesting Panasonic was one of my favorites, but Dewalt and Milwaukee have been the tried and true work horses through the years. Yup, I was a building contractor.
This tool was invaluable when I changed out all of the duplex outlets and switches in my old house. The key was many many light duty tasks undoing and redoing screws holding wiring and screws for cover plates. I’m a 70 year old man who would not have enjoyed doing this with a large drill/driver, or an old fashioned screwdriver. Maybe a Yankee screwdriver, but all you can find these days is cheap versions of those.
So the thing to learn here is how to select the right tool for the job. That means don’t select one that’s too big or too powerful, especially if the task requires many repeated steps, because you’ll tire quickly. It also means don’t select one that’s under powered, because you’ll risk burning out the tool prematurely and losing money.
I decided on this one when I went to buy another Black & Decker gyro screwdriver. I must have found my original one on sale because there is no way I would have spent over $100 for the gyro. The nice thing about this one is it's 8 volts versus 4 volts for the gyro. Another good use for this type of screwdriver is when you have a bolt where the nut has been loosened but it has a lot of threads.
Wait this isn’t the gyro?! I’m sooo cumfuuewwzeddd
Been doing electrical work lately, funny I was wondering how I could rid of my impact. Don't need all that power for most of the things I been doing. This is perfect. Buy a second punch to hols that separate from my linesman n stuff.
Esa herramienta es geniall
Nice job. Subscribed
I just fished assembling a kids toy and mine seems to only work reliably with the button facing up. If the button is down it almost never rotates.
Merci mec👍
Warhammer 40k and forgeworld models but close 😂 i appreciate it bud so far its worked out perfectly for the soft plastic drilling
I’m actually surprised how well it drills. I love this tool.
Just picked up the screw driver on amazon and the kit that comes with it is good but not magnetic, I followed the link and searched for it. I also bough this kit also I had a old Eastvolt 4V Cordless Mini Electric Screwdriver, 1500mAh USB Rechargeable Battery the motor broke up Sunday while installing my new led lights that was a bummer. hopefully Dewalt screwdriver will last many years to come. im investing in the brand for DIY home repairs and fixes but of course will buy the best models. thanks for this information. I prefer the magnetic kits but the magnets are not as strong as I thought.
I got the gyroscopic unit but my question is how can I use it with the DeWalt DWA1184 bits sets? Thank you.
Sadly, it didn't answer my question: Why is it intermittent? :)
I have the same model (DCF682) and it started flaking out after not much use but after the warranty. Depending on the angle, or shaking, or rotation, or something, it will work or it won't. A wonderful tool when it does work! It's very helpful to use when you need to be careful not to overtighten but don't want to spend ages tightening the screw until that point.
Oh, how did you get the "N1" designation on the end? That doesn't show on mine (as it also does not show on yours that I can tell when I pause the video).
Does this or the rotary handle model have more strength?
I use mine for everything have 2 of them and have had not one problem
Is it brushless?
Why has a delay when you try to use it?
Love this tool, have two! One just suddenly broke, the nose popped off. I'm haveing trouble finding detailed schematics to know if I can just replace the nose piece with $15 part or if it's something more sinister. I have the collar, a flat washer, a compression washer and I'm assuming I missing a fourth piece. Pieces kinda flew everywhere when it broke. Thank you for any help
Great review, thank you for sharing, so you said that this is not the right tool for driving screws?, now I don't understand. 🤔, so...what it is for???, I've been living in a lie since I got it, I use it for driving screws in light woodworking and some other stuff not only for removing faceplates. Am I wrong??
I think he meant driving screws without a pilot hole.
It's struggle, cause I got the reamer version and you can't swap out the chucks. Frustrating they don't offer a keyless chuck except for the more expensive twist version. Bro I don't want the twist and the larger size. I'm kinda bummed now, it works I guess but it's not what I desired.
I personally like the DW927 screwdriver a lot better. More torc and will drill holes up to 3/8 inch with no problems even at slowest speed.
Price kitna tha
Does it work as a hammer ??
The problem that we need to know about the torque, how is the torque works with this one!!
The one that you mentioned it break down, it has a clutch so you can change the torque power. This one doesn't have it, so I'm wondering how is the torque works with this one, is it fixed to it's max torque always or it changes as much as I turn it??
It's a screwdriver and you don't want to mess with the screwdriver hole if you give it extra torque!!
I'm here for the same question
Torque is basically how you decide to turn it so it's perfect for those screw holes u mentioned
@@MrProsperty thanks for your response.
Torque is around 21 inch pounds as tested from project farms screwdriver video
How to open it
Does it have an adjustable clutch??
No =(
Does it hammer? Lol 😆 just kidding. Great video!
I love Dewalt, I have Dewalt everything, but this is the one Dewalt tool I would never buy. In Canada they want $215 dollars for the kit, it’s only worth $40 dollars just by the RUclips videos of it. If I need a screw driver I just turn down the clutch on my drill
This is good for weak hands like myself
The one thing I don't like about it is you can't change the chuck.
Are The Batterys Replaceable?
That's Why I Chose The Ryobi
4 Volt Cordless Screwdriver.
Cause those Tools You Have To
Have A Professional Ot Replace
The Battertys You'r Self. By
Taking It Apart. I Never Was For
Buying Those Kind Of Tools.
Yes. Easily replaced.
how's the battery life?
Esta muy bruto para o cómo presentar esta herramienta
I bought this tool in Home Depo after 6 times to used gyro is not working well it’s very frustrating $80 box with nothing warranty was expired not a good reason a tool with gyro
What was the exact model number on the tool you bought?
@@diytoolreviews8278 DCF682
Can i replace it the tool was not responsive the giros?
I also have a DCF682, it rarely turns in the direction you twist it. You get 3 green lights, gently rotate the turns off. Only because it was around $80 bucks I hate to throw it away. I am a Milwaukee tool person, and regret not spending a little more for it. FYI when buying Milwaukee tools always check the part numbers carefully. I couldn't figure out why Lowes always had Milwaukee for less than Home Depot. Then I realized they had 2 different model numbers, Lowes had plastic gears and HD had all metal gears.
How much am from srilanka
So the screw driver is not the right tool to drive screws??? Hmm?? 🤔 makes me ponder have i Ben using my screw drivers wrong my whole life 🤯?? Mind bloowwnn
Well it definitely would drive screw if you drill a pilot hole. If your just slamming screws into wood with a unpowered screwdriver without a pilot hole you are doing it the hard way.
Dewalt is discontinuing their 8 volt batteries. Will this tool be close behind? Will we be able to find 8 volt batteries to fit this?
Junk, very minimal use and it quit working. dewalts are also such a huge pain in the ass to warranty or get serviced.
Mine just stopped working. No apparent reason.
That’s why I switch to Milwaukee, they have a super easy warranty process
I hope they come out with a ratchet one day
This isn't a tool for strength lol...I'd be more interested in how light it can be. I don't understand demanding ultimate power from this tool. Buy a pistol screwdriver for power. Just me lol
I wouldn't have answered any of those questions. These people are just trolling you. Anyone with a brain who buys this tool, isn't buying it to use as a drill. If they are, they're a special kind of stupid.
This tool seams useless, I’d rather use a hand screwdriver, or a standard trigger electric screwdriver. The gyro feature seams troublesome
Depends what u use it for. I'm guessing u have never done electric work
$80 for a tool to take out screws on a switch plate…..okay! Not
Now do 100 of them.
Better call electrician to fix your machine or tv for 200 USD
That's only one application. I use this for 10 screws per wheel on beadlock wheels for a 1/5 scale RC buggy. Also many other hex screws on the RC buggy as well. Open your mind! Well worth the investment.
Ugh
I have one of these and i hate it
The gyroscopic thing is just a massive and annoying gimmick
