4. No items in battle (held items ok)

6. Play on "Set" battle mode

7. No stat-boosting moves
8. No weather moves and abilities

I def wanna try it in other games, give it a go tho it was super fun. There's some insane guaranteed encounters with this ruleset dude. Guaranteed Scyther from national park is just wild, Scizor makes some of the harder fights like Pryce super free. I didn't know about the dark cave Larvitar repel manip until I saw you do it so that would have been crazy here too.

I've already been doing a ton of these in these romhacks and they're pretty fun(for the most part), so I think you'll enjoy it. Still haven't won any though, but I'm pretty far in Storm Silver so I'm hoping I can wrap this up at least before summer is done.
@@Moxilarvitar repel manip doesn’t actually guarantee larvitar. You can get slugma, which I did in my run and discovered magcargo ain’t that bad btw, it’s buffed in this.
Love to see Sacred Gold getting some love. Pretty underrated game. Considering that Gen 2's roster isn't the best, I can imagine it was difficult
I had a blast with this run. Sacred Gold V2 is in the works so I'll definitely run this game again in the future

cool video! Gen 2 was and still is my favorite gen of all time. I've been doing personal nuzlocke challenges with monotype teams. To date, Grass and Bug are the hardest because of how much they struggle against Falkner.

I'm actually going through this game right now using only Gen 4 Pokemon(also includes Pokemon that evolve into Gen 4 Pokemon, but not evolutions of Gen 4 Pokemon if they belong to other Gens). So far I've made it to Pryce with 13 deaths(so yeah, clearly need to step up my game compared to you).

Unfortunately Gliscor, yanmega, and mismagisus, porygon z, mamoswine and electivier are not gen 2 pokemon their pre evolutions are. So I wouldn't say that this is gen 2 only.

Did you manage to find trainer docs for this game? I really struggled to find solid information on the move sets and teams for bosses in this game when I ran it myself.

I'm curious - do you think the Gen 2 only rule made this run easier rather than more difficult? Felt like you got a lot of super good encounters and wondering how much of that was just the editing (not showing the weaker encounters) or if it was a significant help in dodging some weaker encounters from the other gens. Don't mean this as a criticism at all - it was an awesome run either way!
Great question! To be honest I think the Gen 2 only rules in this encounter helped a lot because it gave me quite a few INSANE guaranteed mons like scyther from National Park early on. Scizor dominates so many fights it’s ridiculous.

How did you get both steelix and scizor as early as gym 2 and gym 3 respectively
Onix comes from Union cave before gym 2 and Scyther from the National Park before gym 3. You can get metal coats from Magnemites on route 32 available after gym 1.
