- Kensington Philadelphia is infamous for its open air drug market, which is depicted by news media and RUclipsrs.
This video shows a balanced approach. We see real life recovery stories and organizations making a difference in Kensington.
Our main character in this video “Rodney” is a life long friend who struggled with drugs after he faced some difficulties with his first marriage. Rodney is a true friend even when he was struggling with his addiction he had a heart of gold.
This video is just about 49 minutes long. We started out by visiting the recovery facility that saved Rodney’s life (www.kensingtonrecoveryhouse.com). Next we visited Cast Your Cares, an organization that feeds the homeless and those addicted to drugs. Next we traveled to The Rock Church. Then we traveled through the streets of Kensington to see what life is like for the homeless and those struggling with drug addiction.
I hope you enjoy this balance approach to what life is like in Kensington. Remember this Area extremely dangerous and anything can happen without any notice. If you have never ventured into Kensington please don’t go by yourself. Visit with someone who knows the community very well and knows how to move in these streets.

glad to see og get his self together 8 years clean ....glad to see he is still alive ...and you can tell in his hay day he was something sles in them streets im from LA but was raised in the east in nyc and might as well say philly is nyc they are so close shit brings back memories seeing this segment i love to see when people fuck up and then get it together for the goodof things

The title can be alarming to some but if you visit Kensington and go in the trenches it’s like playing Russian Roulette with your life.
