    Thank you a million times over for mentioning that the side that doesn't hurt could be the issue! I was astonished to find that the non-painful side was incredibly tight, while the painful side actually moved fairly freely. Excellent video, new subscriber!

    I had more thoughts and possible theories around my own body puzzle while watching this. I used to suffer a lot with back pain, foot pain. I was molested as a child. I was overweight as a child and was diagnosed by a nurse in school with scolosis. I now teach yoga and bellydance and have for several years now. The pain is generally gone. However ive realized that my lower core in the front of my body is not very strong, and its seems like it just started firing, and im 36 years old. I like ur pelvic instability series because i have also suspected something is off about my right hip, as a dancer i notice it. So these videos i am so grateful for. I feel like these videos are giving me more clarity around all this. Thank you Elisha, i am grateful for your videos.

      You're welcome! Clarity is so important. Thank you for sharing. I am so relieved that it is becoming more and more common to talk openly about the connections between trauma and pain. I was sexually violated in a pretty insidious manner by a 30 year old neighbor starting when I was just 13, and I have no doubt it is in large part due to that experience that my pelvic floor and deep core muscles became inhibited as a result of dissociating from that part of my body.

    • @lotuslightheart
      @lotuslightheart Год назад +1

      That sounds like that would be very traumatizing. I'm sad that you went through that. But I am graetful that despite that traumatizing event you are encouraging others to speak their truth and give us a place to do that to help bodies, minds, and spirits. It's such good work. Thank you.

    This is very interesting and completely makes sense. I've been having instability in my SC joint, which obviously causes lots of nervey neck and shoulder pain. I will be trying this today once the sleeping baby (on me) wakes up. I see a lot of posture correlation to my symptoms as well...but with having a baby 6 months ago, of course deep core and pelvic stability is something I'm working on.

    I have pinched nerve in my neck and shoulder neck pain and stiffness. We think its a disc we still have to take pictures. However, my therapist tells me I have a terrible uneven pelvis, dead glutes and he thinks this is the root cause. Makes sense to me now! Thank you!

    Hi Elisha, thanks for this video, it's very instructive. I have pelvic tilt (at least) which is corrected with custom insoles. They helped relieve pain in my foot and leg muscles, but I noticed I started to develop pain in the neck, very similar to what you described, after long walks or sports. It seems I'm onto something and will explore exercices to target deep lower core.

    When i started doing fascial release in January, I found it important to use my fingers. This has given me more information and feedback and has helped me better understand what I'm doing. I also want to learn what it feels like on me so that I better understand what I feel on another (when I get to that point).
    Have you tried using your fingers to release yours and/or others neck muscles or any other muscles or fascia?

    Do you have a video about thoracic, back rib pain?? I do have weak glutes and extremely tight scalenes. Strengthening for glutes just won’t fire. My scalenes have caused many issues unfortunately. I also had at the beginning front shoulder pain /impingement. Brachial plexus, acromium, levator scap and upper traps. You sound like me at the beginning. I also had chest pain from scalenes. I was chked out, but all was normal.. I had many issues , pelvic and surgeries and my core is weak. I do breath with my scalenes which I am trying to change. When I’ve tried to strengthen glutes, my ql causes issues on one side. I could go on, but you sound just like.

    Ive been suffering from shoulder pain and hip pain all down my left side for years now. Had artriscopy on my hip with no success. So good to hear an alternative possible cause of my pain. shoulder and hip may well be linked? Shoulder is killing me and i cant do any sports due to my hip 😫

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  4 года назад +1

      Hey Martin - yes, shoulder and hip can definitely be linked, especially if you do any type of activity requiring shoulder AND hip stability at the same time (like planks, yoga, weight training).

    Makes sense & realizing how much of an effing mess I am. Diastasis recti post pregnancy. Years of inactivity. Excess weight gain. Years of relying solely on arm strength as a swimmer. So.. from bottom up pelvic instability, poor core, lordosis, non firing glutes, scalenes and neck look like I'm a muscle builder and major shoulder, bicep and forearm pain. I'm screwed..

    Where are you located? If you aren’t close to me, what type of practitioner would I look for locally that would be similar to you? Thanks so much in advance.

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  6 месяцев назад

      I'm located in Longmont, Colorado. I only work with a few 1-1 clients on a case by case basis these days, as most of my time is spent teaching. I can't answer your question about practitioners, because there are plenty of bad practitioners using great techniques, and many wonderful practitioners who don't have a lot of technical skill. It's really rare to find someone who is both a brilliant practitioner and highly skilled technically.

    I do see myself in the bi-cep/neck scalene pain. I’m uncertain exactly what you mean by pelvic instability. I tend to think of pelvic instability as something specific, like hip pain. When you say your inner core is not firing, how do you know this? Is it an actually sensation or pain that you’re feeling? I need a little help in understanding that.

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  4 года назад +1

      Hey Sharon. I define pelvic instability as: "real or perceived danger to your spine, one or more "core" muscles not firing, leading to compensations and pain."
      The real or perceived danger is your body and brain detecting a potential "threat" to the CNS (central nervous system, housed in the spinal cord), leading the brain to inhibit muscles in order to recruit them to stabilize the pelvis/spine, and finally leading to compensation and pain.

      @@ElishaCeleste Thanks Elisha. I actually watched this video again with intensity as you describe my shoulder/neck/arm pain to a tee in tis video. I saw I took it to heart and thought maybe my core/pelvic muscles are faced with instability. So I'm working on some exercises to help with pelvic instability. Two days down and I'm feeling better about myself. I will keep working...thank you from the bottom of my heart for this information. :)

    @MobilityMastery hello, which of your videos is about the mid-back pain with the shoulder blade, thoracic and pelvic instability that u mentioned in the video and in the description? Or has it been uploaded yet? I really believe this is what has been bothering me for over a year or so now. I think it’s mostly coming from the pelvis area causing major back, shoulder blade, and neck tightening issues. I’m confused because you have so many videos! Please provide link or update next time. Thanks!!
